My brother got engaged over Christmas to his girlfriend of all of five minutes. So no I won't be inviting her to the hen do or to be a flipping bridesmaid or giving her wedding tips or "leftovers" from the day - IT'S MY WEDDING, BUTT OUT  If they dare to try and get married first, I'll actually scream and refuse to go!

    OK deeep breathe

My MIL has shown me her outfit for the Wedding. I know she's tying hard to make our Wedding memorable but her outfit looks like she's going for a job interview! Plus she and her sister are planning on getting change half way through the day into a second outfit!

I am slightly miffed as our ceromony is at 2pm followed by afternoon tea and our Wedding breakfast isn't until the evening when she's planning on wearing something to party in. WE'RE NOT HAVING A PARTY!!!! But a lovely meal followed by coffee etc in front of the fire.

    Grr

Annoyed as my Mum has bought a gorgeous John Charles Outfit that cost a few hundred £££#s so there is no way she is going to buy a 2nd outfit. I haven't told my Mum yet as I know she'll now feel like she has to go and buy a 2nd outfit. Which she shouldn't as her hot cost more than both the oufits my MIL has bought.

    Grrr

I always knew our wedding would be difficult as our families are from completely different backgrounds and money is always going to be an issue hence why we're having to pay for the guests (ok only 18 so not too bad) otherwise none of his side would be able to afford staying at the venue which is no-where near anywhere else.

    Argh!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm starting to wish we had gone abroad to get married
Turning our clutter to top up our house deposit: £3000/£303.05 we're on our way!

sharpee - definitely don't mention it to your mum, better for her to get to wear her one gorgeous outfit all day than feel stressed and pressured to buy an additional outfit. And have to spend precious wedding-day time getting changed! How silly would that be! :o

Your MIL and her sister will look silly going to get changed on the day, don't worry about them at all! :D

  • my sister/MOH called me late last night wanting to rearrange the hen party as my cousins have decided to go away on the weekend we all agreed on 3 months ago! a similar thing happened earlier last year pulling out of a popular music festival at the last minute, and AFTER tickets were bought, for a holiday instead so I can see a pattern developing.

had I typed this out this last night as intended there would have been a lot more to this post however during the course of the day I have decided to give in...

sharpee - just think the two outfits will have to co-ordinate otherwise they will need to change hair, make up, accessories..... it's going to be enough to get dressed up once, who wants to change mid way through?! :p
when the first cup of coffee tastes like washing up she knows she's losing it :o

I sympathise stationary ace! My sister/CBM has got in touch today, she n my mum had come up with something that she said was perfect. It was 3 days away somewhere inc activities for £99 each. I don't know what it is bcos I want it to be a surprise.
Well other BMs phoned OH (his sisters) saying it was costing too much! Now my mum could be jobless soon, n sister is a student, so told her to do it to her budget, reasoning being she is one of the poorest!
    Rant over....

Am I a bridezilla already? I got engaged Christmas day! Today was the first day back at work and I discovered another girl got engaged Christmas day too. Is it bad that I was secretly pleased that she wasn't able to show off her her ring too as it's been sent of to be resized?
  • Okay Im being a total Bridezilla and a bit of a crappy friend :( One of my good friends got engaged at Christmas and came round today to tell me. Shes getting married in June (a month after me) and I am happy for her, its just that shes stealing all my ideas!! Its only little things like the centre pieces and the music, but they're my things :o Also (here's my bad friend part!) shes counting down how may days we have left which is great, but I've been engaged for 6 years and planning this for almost a year, they've been together 8 weeks!!!! Cant she just let me have this!! :A Rant over :o

Totally agree, stealing ideas is not on! Why can't people just do their own thing?

That said, one of my (recently married) friends is having a hissy fit at the thought of anyone stealing ANY of her wedding ideas - including birdcages??? I'm having them and am dreading seeing her face when she spots them on the day. !!!!!!, she's not the first to have bl00dy birdcages at her wedding, are they now copyrighted to her?

    ... and breathe. :rotfl:
