We have already started to organise it. We are having a joint do - laser quest (!), followed by curry and then cocktails at our house. We weren't even going to have one, but we figured we would have a joint one after everyone moaned about us not having one!! We also thought that if people didn't want to lazer quest they could join us for curry and cocktails after. We also thought it was one of the cheapest options, short of just staying in our house, but that always ends up with the hosts paying a fortune!

As a treat for the ladies I might ask her to organise some pampering too, if anyone is up for it.

My BM is organising my hen do too and I am excited to see what she decides on. I have given her details of things I would happily do and things I would rather not do, other than that she has free choice! I can't wait. We have been friends for years so she knows me well enough to do a great job I am sure.

thats what i did - we've been fiends for 40 years! the bowling was a shock , i had thrown casino into the mix (never been before) but we had a fantastic time, even at bowling :T:j

Pampering is always good - you could each give each other a manicure or pedicure with a kit from somewhere!
I bet lazerquest is like my bowling - unexpected, but a right laugh!!!

Yep, I have never been before! Initially it was paintballing, but everyone wanted lazerquest because it was inside and less likely to hurt!

We will do something nice, I'm sure.

  • Grrrr - have only YESTERDAY received an indirect RSVP from my aunt and uncle - everyone else RSVP'd months ago (the wedding's in 2 weeks). Almost wish we hadn't chased them now since they are so unbothered about coming. Silly old rellies.

Thank you so much. I feel a bit better about it today. We are contemplating scrapping the curry and just coming back for a Bond style party! I think it goes with playing guns at lazerquest. We will get the poker out, buy loads of posh canapes from M and S and have a cocktail bar. My sister has a glitterball so we can turn the lounge into a disco! I feel happier about this plan, plus we are away the few days before, so hopefully I can leave it all in the capable hands of my family and true friends!

How polite! I'd be tempted to put it MUCH stronger!!!!!
  • Bit of a "best-woman" rant coming up here..... H2B doesn't get many days off work and since I said I would be working today (phd...boooo) he said he would try and meet up with herself. Who then got back to him and said "actually my bf has tuesday off, I can meet you next tuesday?" The rant is because she works part time in a garage and he has a full time job! He doesn't get many days off and is now saving them up for the wedding/honeymoon. Why can she not put a bit of effort in!? She's done sweet f.a. with the wedding so far (fairly sure she doesn't know half of what we've done/planned) and I don't think she has any plans for a stag do for H2B! Grrr!

and breath and back to work :(
