I am a Bridezilla and my confession is....

  • I have come to bridezilla's anonymous to confess,

I am a bridezilla and I loathe that my OH sister has just got engaged and is planning her wedding for 2011 when it should be "our wedding time"

People are following the colour scheme and I didn't want them to/realise they would. I only wanted my mum and bridesmaids in blue but now they would stand out better in something else!

I wish my stepmother and her kids weren't coming.

I don't want my bridesmaids to look nicer than me.

I am secretly gutted by how few friends I have on the guest list - mine are all family and collegues with hardly any friends (cos I don't have any)

I need to loose weight and feel angry at everyone else for not forcing me to eat celery and go to the gym.

I think that's enough for now. thanks for the thread, didn't realise how much of a zilla I am!!!

Glad its not just me on this one. I'm better friends with my OH's friends (if that makes sense).

I'm a bridezilla and I confess to stomping about the house with my bottom lip out like a moody teenager whenever OH doesn't listen to me/shows no interest in my brilliant wedding suggestions. (I know he might be doing something else but that is no excuse) :D

Love this thread! No matter how hard we all said "No, not me. I'll not be a Bridezilla", we all descend down the slope so slowly we don't notice it.
How long til pay day?

According to my other half I'm a Bridezilla because I have instructed that they keep their jackets on until the photos are done and that he remains in his waistcoat and cravet until at least 9 when all our evening guests have arrived. To be honest I am sick of hearing how uncomfortable and restricted he will feel in his suit, I mean what about me being squeezed in and having to walk around in my dress.

Ohhhh wait I've thought of something that is making me rage every-time I think about it!

My OH's parents are extremely frugal with money (read: to the point of being tight !!!!!!!!) and my family are staying in the same hotel (Malmaison) as me and my OH the night before and the night of the wedding, they've done us a deal where we can get a double room for two nights for £99, which is miles cheaper than what they usually charge... I wanted us all to be in the same hotel so we can have drinks the night before, and then all be together on the day to make our way towards the town hall in the routemaster bus we've hired... but his parents and family aren't going to do that, they've booked into the £29 rooms at the travel lodge a few miles away!!! I feel silly getting annoyed about it but it would of been lovely for us to have a whole floor of rooms booked so we can spend the morning together.

Well to be honest now if I really think about it I'll do a little dance too haha! I've not and probably never will have the MIL's approval! I really like the rest of his family though... shame.

i used to think people just moaned about their MILs but i will also never have her approval.

i just thought of another one. Im only having one bridesmaid so my OH cant try and have the 3 or 4 best men that he was wanting - he doesnt even see 2 of them regularly

We went to the suit hire shop this weekend (to whom we have already paid a deposit) to get OH's mates to get fitted out for usher' waistcoats and his best man for a suit.

I spent AGES trailing through fabric shops and ordering samples online to get just the right selection of blues for my bridesmaid's dresses and am really happy with all the fabrics they've chosen.

Now, the suit hire shop didn't have one blue waistcoat which looked anything like decent in a blue so I am now going elsewhere for the waistcoats and just getting the suits from them. Feel like I'm a stroppy toddler but after investing so much time in the blues of the bridesmaid's dresses I would be gutted if it all fell down on the boy's waistcoats.

    Silly, eh?
