Do you ever check your receipts for those offers you thought you'd bought? [merged]

I've had this happen at every supermarket I use - Tesco, Asda and Sainsbury's. I always check if offers have gone through because quite often you find that they don't. I think the shelves seem to be updated before the till systems, in a lot of cases.0

I really don't know why people have so many rants about receipts being wrong when it is 9 times out of 10 a problem with the way the prices are entered on their computers. Complaining would be fine if these people didn't rush to every local store taking advantage of errors that go in their favour. I doubt there is a massive queue at customers services asking to pay more. Simple advice is check your receipt and what you are putting in your trolley. If there is a problem then ask customer services. Inconvenient maybe but for me equalled out when I can pick up two tubs of Slim Fast marked at £5.30 and get them both for £5 as is currently the case at Asda.0

I too check my receipts, but I get where the OP is coming from.
I too have been caught out (in Asda) by not all Muller yoghurts being in an offer, cakes on 2 for 1 being on the wrong shelf, "rollback" cheese having been sold out, so another size put in its place. Obviously, the more it happens the more closely you look, but it makes shopping like doing an assault course!0 -

snip, ... but it makes shopping like doing an assault course!
Exactly. It's such hard work, it's a rare day I get through the checkout without some error. Although it's usually rtc stuff being scanned at the full price because a tiny bit of the old bar code is still showing. The other thing that catches me is when someone ( a customer probably) has dumped some tin in the wrong place, I pick up 12 tins of tomatoes etc and find at the conveyor belt that one of them is dog food or plums or something it wasn't supposed to be! I have met some really lovely staff on the tills lately, really helpful, it makes the day better when they are on our side, :A0 -
I always check my receipts, I also take pics of offers on my mobile phone so that I have a list of the offers that should have gone through!
It is not just Tesco - everyone makes mistakes, Tesco just makes more than average! I have also had to go to the CS desk in Makro twice due to wrong prices on the receipt! What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

Tescos are really bad at this, I notice mistakes on my receipts almost every time I go in our local store. But I dont go into store very often nowadays!
Home delivery is the way to go the offers seem a bit clearer online. Then if there is a mistake you can just ring the call centre after you've had your delivery and checked your goods/recepit, much easier than standing at customer services with 3 kids in tow!Money is a good servant but a bad master.0 -

I always check my Tesco receipt. I never question the prices as they're scanning, so I can get the DTD at cust services. I recently had some muller yogurts on 8 4 £2 & I'm sure she deliberately only scanned 7 in the hope I wouldn't check! :mad:0
