They told me the same thing as you about 6 times they said I definitely did NOT need to call specialist team and yet low and behold in the end I DID need to phone the specialist team ! I suspect you will in the end too !

    I'm sorry... I'm a little lost.
I too have had one of these letters and I'm trying to work out *why* !
I have tried to read through this thread but it's a little long.

In summary is it the case that you are referred to this "specialist team" because either they think you are "dodgy" or because there has been a "hiccup" with a previous claim? (Last year I successfully appealled against an overpayment claim from them on the grounds that I had called them to advise of THEIR error within the 30 days time limit and they had not amended their records at the time, something that saved me £3000 in overpayment repayments)

It seems (from what I have skim-read) that we have all had something a little strange happen and suddenly we are referred to this "team", be it a payment query or a change in childcare costs or a low income etc
:rotfl:If you have made someone laugh today... check your skirt isn't tucked into your knickers!!!:rotfl:
    Mrs B you're a legend.

Yes i meant your new payments. I take it they are checking everything thoroughly before issuing the new award. Mine would have been half way there if they had not lost my info 1st time round.:)

The latest tax credit !!!! up has just recently announced. They have sent the details of 50,000 claimants out to third parties by mistake. Details include NI numbers pay details and childcare costs!

    Well done HMRC
