I've just got through to my number and again she reassured me it wasn't a fake. Did not give her any details but she did say I had to ring through to the number on the letter as the normal process will not work. Then reassured me it was a pilot looking at people with complicated claims and definately not an investiagtion (which I never suggested). She informed me that if I went through the normal process it would not be able to be updated. However some people appear to have still carried out their review with no problems. This again is different information to what they have told others.0

Just another point she described herself as them and us and that information isn't always shared !!!0

Ive just phoned the number and was told that it is the correct number and a selection of people have been chosen to try it out, asked if it was because I was self employed and was told no nothing to do with that. There is a scam going about by email so dont reply to anything from that. He also told me that you can phone up the normal way and they will ask you if you have received the letter yet and transfer you. Its just to check that all the details are correct.0

Just wondered how you were scam before. Was it a tax credit scam then0

If I dont renew via the number - just renew by post, will I be ok?
I dont want a problem down the line where they say I didnt renew or my payments stop.0 -
From what the guy said I think you need to renew over the phone, you could phone and ask as a few have been told different.0
-
I think I'm going to review over the phone on main number and then if they are aware of letter ask them to transfer me to the department without giving them the number as they should know it. As they seem to be doing the same as us ringing the number which have been given on letter which does not prove if it is real. I would hate to send it via post and start getting phone calls.0
-
Yes I think that I will do the same. When I have done it I will post on here, and let you all know what went on.0
