specialist team for tax credits renewal (merged)

I am also still unconvinced that it is the real deal. Mine also is not signed, it also has a director's name (Paul Gerrard) on the bottom anyone elses have this. I'm concerned about the fact that someone may have my NI. willowbrignt did they manage to do anything with your details previously
Has anyone exactly rang the number since recieving their pack. If so did they say what happens next or explain why you were asked to review differently this year? This is all stress I'm sure we all could have done without !!!

I received this letter this morning too. My number is 08456005044 and named with director Steve Larney. I have had one of these before asking me to ring the specialist team to check i'm receiving the right amount and have always preferred to call the main number. Hopefully it's nothing to worry about it all seems a bit strange to me. Does everyone think it's just okay to bypass this and ring the main number?

I received this today too. The phone number is 0845 600 5044 and it's come from the Cumbria Specialist Renewals Team.
Ref is also HVR/CUMB

I'm just gonna ring the normal number to be on the safe side. I don't find the renewal process confusing as they suggest so not sure why they would contact me about this?

I too received this letter today and have the ref number as HVR/CUMB but mine is from the Cumbernauld Specialist Renewals Team not Cumbria and is also supposed to be from Director Steve Lamey. I searched his name and he does come up as being a Director with HMRC. I find it a bit strange that we are all getting letters claiming to be specialist renewal teams but the letters are from different offices and different directors. The number on my letter is 0845 600 5044 so I rang it but no one answered and it didn't go on to answer machine or anything. I'm not sure what to think but I'm more inclined to think that I will just renew through the main renewal number when my pack comes in too.

I've received one of these letters today. In July last year I had a letter from the child benefit office about a rival claim I had made, and at the bottom it had got the name Paul Gerrard listed as the director, the same person who is claiming to be the director of compliance on the tax credits letter. He's a busy chap indeed.

again I got this too but the name on my letter was Steve Lamey. Just wondered if the name being slightly different is a bit weird or just a typing error, what do you think?

Mine is not signed by paul gerrard it is just in very small writing on the bottom under the line about large print
