  • slm i think im going to do my hospital bag today aswell. what kind of bag did you use, looking at the list of things i need to bring i think il need a suitcase :rotfl: im thinking of maybe using 2 small overnight bags one for me and one for bubs? and i need to find a going home outfit, im thinking maybe some jogging bottoms because they are stretchy? its hard cos nothing i have really fits me :o

re babys movements - i was actually in a panic last night because baby was moving SO much. constant for about 2 hours i was worried something was wrong. its was very sore and uncomfortable.but then all went quiet and finally got to sleep. i thought at this stage babies were meant to move less as theres less room?!

fuzz thats crap news. ive lost count of the amount of young people ive recently heard being diagnosed with it. its good they caught your friends early that gives her the upper hand against it!! and please stop googling. i did that when my granny was diagnosed and it scared the living daylights out of me.
  • Hello all, long time lurker but need to share as I'm happy. Am 25 weeks, have had the community midwife from hell and I finally complained when the Dr read something that she'd written in my notes and queried it so told Dr the fully history of errors and basic poor practice from the midwife, Dr went mental and spoke to the lead midwife and now I've not a lovely new midwife who is nice and will actually bother herself to get off her bottom and examine me, so heard the heartbeat and had the baby felt for the first time today and I'm 25 weeks gone, not at all good efforts from evil midwife but so far it's a happy ending.

starjumper - great news on getting a lovely MW at last - we shouldnt have to complain to get a standard of care that is acceptable but happy that you can now be cared for properly.

dreambirdie - i have actually put it in my childs small suitcase but wondering if i would have more room in a large sports bag as i still need to fit a few more bits in. Either that or keep baby and my going home bits in car seat so OH can bring them up when its time to go home - this would then leave a little more room for the other bits i might need.

  • Just on baby-movements, I still haven't felt anthing yet. I'm 18+2, should I be worries at all or is it still a bit early?

Hi there - I only started to feel slight movement around 20 weeks or so, and even then I wasn't sure it was baby movement for sure until I felt it and saw it on the scan at the same time :). But it gets more and more noticeable as time goes on - I feel like I'm being used as a punching bag from the inside at the moment!

Its still early:) I thought I was getting movements around 18+5, but didn't know for definite until we had the 20week scan and I got booted and saw it on camera:D
If it helps, when people say they're like butterflies etc ...thats bull:p I've always likened them to the start of a muscle spasm IYSWIM:)

I've got my 20 week scan a week on Monday, really looking forward to finding out if it's a boy or a girl :)
