Not sure if this is it or not pains seem to be averageing every 5-6 mins and lasting anything from 40 seconds to over a minute. As i say they arent bad yet but this started yesterday morning then they would stop then start again so i am hoping something is happening.

Coops you have time for the symptoms yet or you might be just one of the lucky ones who sails through their pregnancy if i was you i would keep your fingers crossed for the latter option :-) x

KK and Mummy pregnancy insomnia sucks big time i had it terrible with the last one this time hasnt been so bad i only had about a week where i just coudlnt sleep rest of the time i have been out like a light apart from a toilet trip or two :-)

You'll be fine when you go for your scan Coops, a bit of reassurance is what you need. Congratulations BTW

Mummy - Tell me about it. At least mine can sort themselves out..well not including the baby but she doesnt get up 'til 8:30 anyway so i should be able to get back to bed for a few hours until then. Hope you get back to bed too.

Xmas are you doing the DIY sweeps? Only asking as my OH did them and I had pains like that for weeks , even going overdue ..or do you its because shes ready to come soon ?

Thanks guys, this is my first and at 38 you would think I'd be jumping with joy but I guess just a little apprehensive.
Both my sisters in law know I am in the club and keep telling me how horrible I must feel and it's a bit weird to say, "nah, I'm fine thanks" I'm sure they think I'm a bit weird.:o
My mum has passed away and I know they do say that you can get an idea how your pregnancy will be by hers. My dad has gone now too so no one to ask.
Guess I should be very grateful!!! And believe you me, with being at work for 12 hrs a night for 14 nights, I am very glad I am not feeling too upset!!!

I have a booking in appointment with my midwife next Monday afternoon but no scan booked as yet. I guess that's when it will become very real!!!
I can't wait!!!:T

He had a little feel when we went to bed but not a sweep he said the hole he could feel has gotten a little bigger his finger moves freely through it now with room to spare. These pains seem to be to regular to be anything but the onset of labour but i do know after having bubs do the same thing i could be like this for a day or two before things move on and i am established. At the moment im just trying to keep some momentum going with them so moving around and bouncing on my ball. I keep having to go to the toilet as well for a number two and i feel as sick as a dog which i havent experienced before in labour its not pleasant.

A friend of mine, years ago, said that her OH had friends round and she was staying out of the way and had a bad case of needing No2 and one of her OH pals said that she was about to go into labour and he was right. Baby came within a few hours.

Not pleasant at all.

Try walking too if you can. I fast walked for 4 hours a day last time after having internals but can hardly walk at all now due to back ache and being a whale.

The things we go through hey.

Im very nervous about delivery this time, never had a problem before (with all the lads ) as they shoot out of me but I was in agony last year and was in labour longer. Im sure its because she's a girl!

Lolly- you will have to let us know how you get on, am getting very excited for you now but very envious if you have bubs first. Think I lost that race lol danm!!!

Suzy- PMPL at reading very thread on here! Gets ya like that doesn't it! Anything interesting lol Really hope you mange to get some sleep before LO gets up, nothing worse than having to run around after them while you are shattered.

Coops- Sorry to hear about your mum. Both my sisters had shockingly bad pregnancies especially my older one so much so she just stcuk to one child lol but I on the other hand have had it easy, think they had my share. Sone people are just very lucky and their bodies cope with it a bit better so fingers crossed. Oh I bet you cant wait to see MW. The first scan is an absolutely amazing moment you will cherish forever x

Lolly- do the balls really work? I bought one the other week but haven't used it much. I was feeling very much like you the other day, kept having to dash to the loo on monday night then yesterday I woke up sick as a dog and I felt lousy, after seeing the MW yesterday everything seemed to tail off and I feel fine again now :-( I read somehwere that walking sideways up and down stairs helps to open the cervix too. Not sure how true it is though.

Suzy- yeah what do we put ourselves though eh. The men have it so so easy lol. Was it really that bed with your little girl? Am sure you will be totally fine when it comes to it, trouble is no matter how many times we have done it before it's still as nerve wracking as the first tme lol. Got to admit I am dreading this one as I had two very easy simple labours with teh boys and I think this one will be soooooo different lolx
