How many rooms do they actually have for people to give birth in? And what happens if they're all full up?

I'm not sure how many rooms there actually are BUT I've had my own "delivery room" each time I've gone... and like I said they've always been very busy.

I have no idea what happens if they're all full and if that's ever happened!! I guess those ladies who are still in early labour would be moved to the ward???

Fabulous idea.. If they weren't trained to !!!! in next doors potted plants!

They are so stupid they wouldn't know the difference!

They are now on about sending the mental health team out.. I said go for it.. they aren't getting in the house.. they would be told quite unceremoniously to bugle off.. through a closed door!

Ok I know that Im going to risk an ear bashing but try and engage with the midwives - on your terms. I know how the system works and their protocols will be put into place which will mean working with the mental health teams and perhaps Social Services. Now there is only so much shouting through doors that can be done and perhaps you will get the care YOU want by engaging. Im sorry but i just dont think you are doing yourself any favours right now.

I know that if you presented to me, as your midwife, and told me all your symptoms as detailed here I would be very concerned about your health and you would probably be in hospital - particularly the bleeding. Have you told them all your symptoms? I do know that you are very frightened and have had very bad experiences but in order for people to help you you need to engage.
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

I don't think that's what you REALLY want. I think you want the babe to be born and you to feel better. I also wonder if you're disappointed that it wasn't born last Friday when it seemed to be the optimum time with respect to your family arrangements?

As to the mental health team coming out, I thinkyou may find that if you don't let them in, they'll end up breaking in and sectioning you. All they need is a doctor, a psychiatrist and a back up policewagon... oh - they may need a social services rep too...
