Oh my god ladies I've just had a sleepless night looking after my sisters 11 month and 3 year old. Poor baby was sick and the other "one" too and I managed about 3 hours sleep. What's worse is that the baby spewed in my brand new cot/mattress so it's in the washer now with some stain remover. Quite mad at her as she didn't say sorry/thanks and just said "well you better get used to it".
    Juts scoffing some maltesers now...yum!

    Morning ladies,

Dream - I think you are doing well, giving up smoking is hard, so at least you have cut down.

    Congrats and welcome claire.

Budgetblonde - some people are idiots, go with what you think best, thats my philosophy.

Well I am completely bored now. Cant wait for this pregnancy to be over (and please dont say - not long now, everyone says that to me, and yes its true, but then its also 6 ish weeks, which is ages away). In this heat, I can only manage 30 mins of housework, before I am completely shattered, but am so bored of sitting around. Am running out of things to do - had a good 9 hrs sleep, so am not tired, watched all my recordings on SKY +, played all me games on facebook. Now dont know what to do with myself!!!!! Think I may have to resort to watching the extended versions of Lord of the rings. I so want my body and life back. Getting the aches and pains of pregnancy is driving me nuts now!!!! My new mantra - MUST HAVE PATIENCE, MUST HAVE PATIENCE.

  • Hey ladies, hope everyone is doing well! I havent posted in a while but have been lurking about! I am now 18+6 and am beginning to freak out a little. I just dont know what to do for the best! People are saying they wouldnt have baby stuff in the house, or even buy anything for the baby!? What am i supposed to do- buy a few white baby suits and get everything when the baby is born? Im not due until Dec.

Its just getting me down cause one person is saying one thing and anothers' saying another...

    :(

lol xmas, thats my thoughts exactly. Why do people feel the need to say stuff like that? Its the 'are you all prepared yet?' that gets me too. Erm no, this is my 1st, so whilst I am expecting pain for the birth, and sheer chaos after, no form of preparation is really going to help.

I also cant cope unless I plan, and having no idea when bubs will arrive is driving me more insane.
Have just realised I am exactly 1 week behind you.

Kat, go with what you think. I have had baby stuff in the house since about week 12. And that includes the travel system my mum bought me. I was so excited to have it and show OH that I didn't pay any attention to the old wives tales.
Have enough baby stuff now to last until bubs is at least 3 months, nursery was done before sex scan etc. There's no way I could have waited until bubs was born.

The only thing I still need to get is a steraliser and breast pump. The only reason I havent got them, is cause I cant make up my mind which ones to get.
  • Thanks Hassle, Im not the most organised person in the world so this isnt to do with any OCD (if i could become this way i would be grateful) its the feeling that "oh right im having a baby in a few months!" ive thought about nursery colours either just cream or a very light green but am scared to buy the paint! Basically its just pleasing others... pfffffffffttt

Kat, go for it. I have a little OCD in me, so like to be prepared. But either way, just remember, you are the most important person right now. How you feel effects bubs. So be selfish and go for what you want / makes you happy. My view is that you can never please everyone, so try and please the most important person - YOU.

I went for peachy / light terracota. Now I know its a boy, have added blue bedding etc.

    Hello all

I finished work yesterday, just under 5wks til c-section looking forward not to have to get up in morning although we were both up at 8am today. nursery is looking a little more tidy and normal as we have sorted it and moved things around.

Seem to get up every 2hrs for a wee at night now, thought I may have a UTI due to low down abdo pain and back ache but think its been braxton hicks as no other UTI symptons such as very cloudy smelly wee, have midwife app anyway on tues.

Kat we have been buying things since I was about 10wks just little bits and bobs and actually when we sorted nursery out we have 51 packs of baby wipes!!!! All have cost £1 or less and are pampers, huggies, johnsons or simple wipes - brought on offers and/or with vouchers. We also have a stock of sz1-4+ nappies not loads but enough in each size to save us some money whilst on maternity leave.

We brought our pram at about 22wks I think as someone via work was selling a quinny buzz 10mths old with carrycot for £200 and would have cost us nearly £600 new.

just buy what you feel happy with as esp if you see a bargain

Kat buy what you want when you want and sod everyone else you cant please everyone so just please yourself :-)

Well i am rather pleased with myself move over Handy Andy ive just managed to fix my front door, we havent been able to lock it all week as the mechanism was playing up so i took it all apart wd40'd it and put it all back together and it now works perfectly YAY!!

I must have been a boy scout in a previous life as i am all prepared now the only thing i havent done which i said i would do the other day was pack my hospital bag just incase but i feel like its tempting fate so i'm leaving everything within easy reach bag is empty and sat there waiting and it wont take me 5 mins to pack it if needed.

Right me and DD have to clean the house now from top to bottom midwife is coming tomorrow to do my home visit for the home birth she couldnt have picked a worse day really but hey ho catch you later ladies :-) xx
