I've been told that the extra seats in the boot should only be used when they are required as these effectively replace the boot so in the event of someone driving into your rear ( Think jeep, bus/ van) children have much less protection. Having been in an accident with a van very recently it would make me think twice.
    Just my thoughts

I'm going for what makes life easy rather than necessarily the safest because you just can not predict what type of accident you are going to have. Side impacts on the passenger side are apparently the most common (I heard, can't remember where and could have been a completely unreliable source) so in theory DD would be safer in the boot space. Lets face it cars are way safer nowadays anyway. I remember my mum putting the seats down in her bluebird and me and all my cousins pileing into the boot and just rolling round in there on holiday in cornwall.

Hi, I can manage to get three car seats in the back seats of the Zafira we have, have got two high back boosters & baby seat in. Got the boosters in - one behind driver and one in the middle and the baby seat behind the front passenger. Maybe try swapping them around to get the best position but we can manage to get all three in the back row without having to use the very rear seats. It could depend on the type of car seat you have and how bulky it is compared to some others also... :)

edit - lol! re car safety - I remember my sister and I travelling "loose" in the back of my dad's Ford Transit regularly :D it was fun when you were little although definitely a "no no" now!:rotfl:

Back finally after another LONG session on the delivery suite *sigh* When I phoned at 8 they were quiet and of course by the time I'm there it gets busy. The midwfie dealing with me swapped luckily and she was a lot more efficient.

    And...

    :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::eek::eek::eek::mad::mad::mad::mad::eek::eek::eek::mad::mad::mad:

Can you tell that I'm very angry???:rotfl:

It's just one thing after another:(

Whilst in on weds the staff noticed an "infection risk" warning sticker in my hosp notes:eek::eek::eek: They didn't say anything to me as I hadn't told them of any risk and they didn't want to worry me... thank goodness! They couldn't see why it was there so had to look into it for their own safety as well as mine. It's the sort of big red warning sticker that would be used for HIV etc:eek:

Well they've found out why!!! Whilst I was in hospital in 2002 for Crohns a lady next to me caught MRSA (ward was closed off and deep cleaned whilst I was there) so I had to be tested. And guess bloody what... the test came back POSITIVE AND NO-ONE BLOODY WELL TOLD ME!!!!!!!! Soooo angry. Not sure where the failure in telling me is... maybe hospital, maybe my GP. I've blimin been in hospital since then for various things including a very bad rash/swelling for which they should of known about the MRSA risk!!!

So I've had swabs done to see if I still have it and the midwife is sorting out a complaint thingy/looking into why I was never told.

And I've just had a phone call from labour ward - I've got to go in on Sunday as blood test results today aren't good. Was supposed to be Mon.

Very exhausted and now getting stressed about how much time this baby is taking up before it's even born:(

Hoping all is ok with pigpen:)

  • Funny you say that Smartie as my ex has just had exactly the same thing happen!! He went in for a hernia op a year or so ago, and had to stay in longer than last time (although we didn't question it at the time), and he's had to go back again last month for another hernia op, and they said they were taking precautions after last time, and when he questioned it, they said oh because of the infection- MRSA! He hadn't been told either at the time - very naughty. Makes you wonder whether they are purposefully covering it sometimes, or just too busy and presuming someone else has said?

It has taken 8 YEARS for them to realise I haven't been told and to even notice the warning!!! I've had blood tranfusions and allsorts so it's not like I haven't been seen:mad:

I blame the men;) It takes a FEMALE midwife to notice and do something about it!!!

    oh smartie what a nightmare.

Had a nice lunch and natter with sir monster and then saw MW. All seems fine and she measured me and am apparently spot on so all the people who keep going on about my bump being massive can shut up! She thinks baby is head down with its back on my right and bum in the middle. That makes sense with where i feel the movements.

Have done a bit more work but have given up now, going to sort out the dinner, put some washing on and tidy round a bit. Our chief exec at work was also on TV last night on one of those undercover boss progs so I might watch that before DH gets home!

I must go swimming, I even have a costume now! Still can't find an aqua natal class but I think even just a swim will do me good.

Am just watching the prog about our chief exec, it's funny I was at a thing with him the other week and he's a lovely guy.

Has anyone used the Tommee Tippee CTN electric breast pump? If so is it any good? Is it worth buying the electric rather than the manual one?

    Thanks for any advice.

Hello ladies hope your all well. Hope pigpen is ok. Went to a 'bump to baby' roadshow today, picked up a pile of leaflets, got given a free little lamb reusable nappy so not bad. It started 10am until 3pm and we left 11am as we were bored! There was talks on labour, pain relief, etc and we found the 1st one so basic and boring we left!

Can't believe you not been told about that infection Smartie! Ridiculous!
