kitkat5566 wrote: »Thanks Xmas and Pukka. Think I just panicked myself this morning, my hair was a total nightmare and I had to straighten it, took ages. I kept thinking 'there will be no chance of doing this when the baby is here' plus my OH has decided all he seems to want to do is play call of duty so I felt like I didnt even c him yesterday, and I phoned him this morning to email me some work I had forgot to bring in and he was playing it then, nevermind doing any housework. But then I feel like a right dragon moaning at him
and then I also feel like if I rush back to work after i have the baby is he just going to sit on his a$$ all day playing call of duty while the baby cries its head off
Is it normal to freak out at this stage?!
Pukka: Fit flops are amazing, I think a little overpriced but they have saved my feet! They have also helped my back no endjust need to get saving my boots points for another pair, although I kinda wana keep those points for the baby!
Mine are cheapo ones from Avon, not the most attractive of things but they do the job and they were only £10!!!!I don't get nearly enough credit for not being a violent psychopath.0 -
Oooo I might go listen to CD now... whilst DH plays with his new toy *big sigh*
We now have a PS3... as well as Wii, Xbox 360, PS2, DS!!!!:rotfl:However DH and DS will fit bubs into their lives I don't know!!
RLT... any time of day??? Anyone have a preference when they take it?
Sounds like my house smartie only add in a psp, 2x ds's and an old xbox!!!!!I don't get nearly enough credit for not being a violent psychopath.0 -
Dear Pru: I found my NCT class good too, my tutor highly recommended 'natural alternatives' to pain relief. She also recommended lots of positions/ exercises/ positive thinking etc. She kept saying to me think of every painful contraction as a pain closer to having your baby, I know it sounds silly but its kinda true
She also lend me Birth Skills: 'Proven Pain-Management Techniques for your labour and birth' by Juju Sundin, which I am about half way through and its quite good. Its slightly different to hypnobirthing as it does talk about actual pain, but it gives little techniques as a form of distraction.

Re: Swollen Feet. Mine havent been too bad, its mainly long journeys or if I have walked several miles. I only tend to get one swollen worse than other which I am told is a sign of a previous injury to the said foot (not sure about this though!)
This could well be very true as I sprained my right ankle extremely badly in early pregnancy and had to go to a&e and wear a tubigrip for weeks afterwards and it is always my right ankle that swells the worst!
hugs to all needing them tooBSC #215/No.1 Jan 09 Club0 -
Pukka: those Avon ones look good, I must get those when these wear out!
Smartie: I take my RLT tablets one in morning and one at tea time. I think its preferably with a meal. When I was drinking the tea (and only on one a day) I just had it midday or if I didn't want it at work I had it around my evening meal... tastes like carp though!!!0 -

Yeah ours were really good for getting you to practice other forms of pain relief. Also DH found it really good. Partly why I'm going for a Home Birth as I think I'll be way more relaxed, and also I won't have the temptation/option of drugs... plus you can always transfer if you do need more.
ETA: about RLT, I try to have 2/3 cups a day (I love the taste), usually mid-morning, afternoon, night... I think you're supposed to wait until a certain number of weeks before taking it though - have heard various different numbers but 32/34/36!0 -

You LOVE the taste!! Mad person!! Lol. I nickname it 'Rancid Leaf Tea' as I hate it soo much!! Tablets are much better!! I do find the tea makes bubs jiggle around like crazy though. I might try upping my doseage
I would consider homebirth but we dont have an awful lot of space and I imagine I would end up wedged inbetween 2 sofas birthing, lol :rotfl: thankfully my MW at my local birth centre is also v into natural alternatives, so hopefully I can keep it natural, although if its too much I can see me screaming GIVE ME ALL THE DRUGS!! Really put off epidurals, the idea of them injecting it into my spine just makes me feel like I am going to faint :eek:0 -

I had a bodged epidural, and it makes you think about how much can go wrong
Mine gave me a dural tap and meant I had to lie down for 4 days and had crucifying headaches.
If it goes badly wrong you could end up in a wheelchair :eek::eek:Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

Haha I know, I thought I was going to hate it but I actually like it way more than fruit tea which I drink a lot anyway... quite glad really! I don't like taking tablets :S
If we had a birth centre nearby I would love to do that, it seems like a really good middle ground. But the nearest one is miles away and shut most of the time!
Feel like baby has finally engaged a bit, just hope it doesn't bob out again now, i've been feeling it go in and out for weeks... stay there!!!
I'm making cushions today and I'm doing such a bad job with the sewing machine... grrr!!0
