hi everyone!
Good to hear everyone's rants and moans and embarrasing moments hehe makes me feel normal too.
A quick question, I am 20w today, got my scan next Mon and wondered, do they take bloods at this appointment does anyone know? My veins like to hide so I want to be prepared for it.
Thanks to everyone, you are an amusing bunch
Katy x
Hello :wave::wave:
Nope, not at 20 weeks, no bloods. I am a lady with blood issues and tissues, and I know to the *minute* when they are due :rotfl:
Your next stop, 28 weeks. Unless you have special requirements :rotfl:0 -
thanks emsy. I am on liquid iron due to low haemoglobin (think that means am anemic) but the bottle is huge and will last forever at this rate.
I feel a bit less tired now so am hoping that the liquid stuff - which tastes vile - is doing its job.
Really looking forward to scan and hoping to find out the flavour... can't wait to start buying but am holding back until I know.*

* except I bought a baby pirate suit from Mothercare as I couldn't resist. Just bunged it in with the pram and car seat order lol!0 -

If you jsut hang on for a sec there are others (the usual suspects - you know who you are!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: ) and loads of them have iron issues-plenty of advice to help here
My 12 week bloods were taken, I fainted, they then lost the results, so not had blood info for 7 years, just assuming all ok! I have 12 week bloods, 28 weeks bloods and GTT all to be done on the same day.........17th August!:eek::eek:0 -
... oh dear, did you faint because you were scared?
I really don't mind the bloods, but everyone fails to get it from me. My Midwife told me I was a stone, especially when she took the needle away and I didn't bleed where I was punctured.
In the end at the 12w scan I told them to go for the back of my hand 'cos you could see the vein and they went for the third nurse (they called her 'the bleeder') and we got there in the end (several vials later lol).
17 Aug is going to be a big day for you. Is the GTT the lucozade thing? I've got mine booked for Sept. I'll be at York races on 17 Aug for my dad's special 60th surprise bday treat. I know where I'd rather be!!

Can I come to your dad's surprise as well LOL :0)0

Hi ladies,
sorry all I ever do is come on here to moan but I seriously cannot believe how !!!!!!!g rude some people can be. For the second time someone's reaction to a name WE have chosen for OUR baby has been so extreme it's put us off the name. First time my mum, this time my brother. We've only told close family our ideas and I'm so p!ssed off people think they have the right to give a genuine response if it's gonna be so extreme - it's not like we're considering poo-head or anything. If you can't show tact then don't bloody ask
PLUS I am measuring 1cm bigger than my date, that's it ONE cm!!! I am not massive, I am 8 months pregnant. No, I CAN wait to give birth, I'm actually quite happy despite the SPD, which by the way is back on the rampage and has well and truely taken up residence in my knees. Not poor me, I haven't had a horrible time, I'm carrying my husband's baby, you know, the love of my life, yeah him. So stop making !!!!!!!g assumptions, okay!!!!!!
Oh, I didn't get much sleep last night. Bit ratty today I reckon
Rant over

hi Courgette ...what are the names? or is it a secret? I'm sure some on here will have appreciation for them if it makes you feel better.0
-
courgette - hugs, that's why we've not told anyone the names we're thinking of! Once bubs is here they won't dare say!!Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0

Well, I'll tell you our girl's name (can't tell you our boy's name cos yet again I've forgotten how to spell it :eek: damn this preggo brain - I'm an English teacher too :o:rotfl:). Our girl's name is xxx which I think is beautiful. It was xxx's first wife but she was banished cos she wouldn't behave like a good little wifey :T:T:D
I swear I will go absolutely postal if anyone insults it
;)
ETA: Gone!!! Too late if you missed it!Updating soon...0 -
*hugs* Courgette. You have good reason to moan! Moan away! Names wise- it's YOUR baby, not your mums or your brothers. Go for a name you like! My mum has told me not to tell any family/ friends as she said everyone will point out bad bits in a name but at the end of the day it's totally upto you! Go for an obscure name if your happy with it!
I've got a boys name sorted but no girl. Think I better just incase as 6 people told me this weekend I look like I'm carrying a girl! Personnally I think boy!0
