Smartie, do I remember rightly that you got the Lloyds pharmacy TENS machine? Was there any reason for the particular choice?
I am undecided on whether to get one or not. If I do get one, do I hire or buy? Which one of the many is the best to get? Does Cheaper mean less efficent? Erghhhhhhhhh its just so difficult!0 -
Chips and coke float wasn't as nice as last time
It was a different Wimpy though.
If anyone has a spare bit of rain please send it this way as I'm hot and would like to dance naked in the rain!!
I feel a bit annoyed with my friend. Maybe it's the weather but I get fed up up with other people's excitedness at bean when I feel like poo... and the comparing of my pregnancy with theirs... and the feeling of being belittled because I'm going to use a TENS machine in early labour... oh moan moan moan... sorry.
I know what you mean smartie when i was pregnant with Ol i got really fed up with talking about it.
All people seemed to talk about was my bump, i used to feel like saying "i am in here you know!!! I do have other topics of conversation!!!"
Not to mention the 'bit of advice' that EVERY person feels their right to dole out at every opportunity.
I also developed a weird 'hating everyone knowing i'd had sex' thing going on at one point ha ha ha ha
I'm not a lover of being pregnant, i can't wait to have baby i've always found the first three months the best but i could live without being pregnant!!!!I don't get nearly enough credit for not being a violent psychopath.0 -

Yep Lloyds one... seemed to be the cheapest around. Good reviews.
My reason for buying and not hiring is a bit silly - I'd be worrying about getting it on time and it'll be on my mind about returning it! I have it now so that's one less thing for me to worry about:)
I'm hoping to get a good amount of money back for mine on ebay after;)BLOWINGBUBBLES:kisses2: SMARTIE120 -
Having a horrid day so far girlies, office like an oven, my boss phones me and has a go about something I did then he hangs the phone up on me.
Of course in my pregnant hormonal state had to leave office in tears and have a walk, and the more pathatic (sp) I felt for crying the more I couldn't stop, then baby started to kick me so feeling even more guilt at being upset with high blood pressure.
Really wanted to work up until 36 weeks but don't think I am emotionally capable.
Now sitting here thinking how daft I am being but ready to walk out earlier.
6 weeks and 4 days till I can leave BOOOOOOOOOOOOO0 -
Hello all
popped to gp surgery today as had day off husband and I booked day off as had planned boot sale yesterday and wanted a day to have a lie-in and get some sleep. so went there at midday to pick up ranitidine prescription I had asked midwife for last tues she wrote a little note for me I handed to receptionist who typed it into computer for doctor, I actually read it for her as she couldnt read the drug name etc and said duty doc would do and be ready later that day or first thing in morning. Anyway not had chance to go before today with work etc and really needed them (cant do gaviscon or anything liquid/chewy as makes me gag and vomit!).
I had 2 missed calls on my mobile last tues late morning from a withheld number but didnt think anything of it as often get them and no-one left a message
receptionist couldnt find prescription, checks my records and say oh duty doctor didnt do it and tried to ring you twice, no reason given so she says let me just ask your doctor which she is gone for 10mins doing then comes back and says it because midwife didnt give a reason for it, so I said its for reflux pretty obvious so she goes back to doc (i could have seen him myself in this time!!) and comes back and says no wont do it until midwife puts on your records why she wants it prescribed and she would ask her when she is doing clinic tommorow and I could collect wed, well not convienent I just dont have time with work and said couldnt collect now for 2wks as I work the hrs they are open and I would go an buy some next door at the chemist - which is the annoying thing it wasnt a medical reason they wouldnt prescribe it was just bloody mindness really. I asked to speak to doctor I couldnt as no available appointments -- aaahhhh hes in his room you have just been in there forever!!
Anyway left it she would sort a prescription and I went next door and brought some cost me £5 but will last til I can get there in 2wks and have a midwife appointment 2wks tommorow.
Was highly frustrating not receptionist fault but felt like I was having a 3 way conversation, when I asked why duty doc didnt leave a message she said it was the PCT confidentiality policy not to leave messages on mobiles - I said its not the PCT policy I work for them and leave messages on parents mobiles all the time very brief stating who I am and can you ring me on x number doesnt break confidentiality, so I said ok why didnt a letter get sent saying please contact the surgery or make an appointment to see GP when I didnt answer phone she said oh we just wait for you to come in.
Ok rant over!!
Husband and I then went for lunch in frankie and benny's which was nice and then did a bit of shopping.0 -
I got the elle tens off eBay for £30, same as buying and Im sure I'll get nearly that when I sell it again. I feel renting is £30 down the drain, my personal opinion. Labour might progress soo quickly we won't get to use one, wishful thinking!!! Check out the size of the pads and that it has a boost button which is good for contractions when comparing models.
Re eBay as long as the item has more that 12 hours left to run the seller can cancel bids and removed the item using one of several reasons one of which is item no longer available for sale. I've had to do this a few times, also pigpen is right you cannot state in a listing that the item is available for sale elsewhere or it will be removed.Busy mum of 3, so if my posts don't make sense or ask a silly question be patient:rotfl:0 -

At my uncles funeral last month I threatened to punch the next person to touch my stomach.. I'd tell her to stop it.. LOL PP even though we've never met I can imagine you doing that. Dreambirdie, best tell her how you don't feel comfortable - thankfully no-one apart from DH has touched my bump, but people feel it OK to tell me how big I'm getting.
Is annoying re advice, everyone has a different spin too - I just nod and grin then will do my own thing!!
((hugs)) claireemily - can you approach him to say how it made you feel??
Freebie, docs can be so annoying - I'm on ranitidine too as gaviscon was doing nothing but actually feel human and can eat now.Thomas born 28/08/2010 weighing 5lbs and 4ounces, small but perfectly formed :j:j Now weighs 19lbs and 5 ounces
