Kitkat - thanks!
Rach, it really gets me though. It's not like you're gonna give your baby a name that you haven't spent ages thinking about is it. What makes people think they can be so dismissive? The more unusual the better if you ask me. When I had DS my ex's sister actually said the best way of picking a name was to look at the current top 10 and decide which one you liked best! Huh?!Updating soon...0 -
Missed the name courgette, but if you and your DH love it then that's the main thing!
People keep asking re names but I say we haven't thought even though we have as don't want people's reactionsThomas born 28/08/2010 weighing 5lbs and 4ounces, small but perfectly formed :j:j Now weighs 19lbs and 5 ounces

Courgette ignore them they obviously have no taste what so ever. the top ten for the last few years has been full of chav names no way would i call my baby any of them. I have looked at this years and its not looking to bad to be honest but you can guarentee there will be at least a dozen kids with the same name at school and who wants that.:jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0 -
Hehe, you sound like me... I usually get sent to the vampires in the path lab because they can't get me to bleed... And they're really against going in the hand?!... oh dear, did you faint because you were scared?
I really don't mind the bloods, but everyone fails to get it from me. My Midwife told me I was a stone, especially when she took the needle away and I didn't bleed where I was punctured.
In the end at the 12w scan I told them to go for the back of my hand 'cos you could see the vein and they went for the third nurse (they called her 'the bleeder') and we got there in the end (several vials later lol).
17 Aug is going to be a big day for you. Is the GTT the lucozade thing? I've got mine booked for Sept. I'll be at York races on 17 Aug for my dad's special 60th surprise bday treat. I know where I'd rather be!!

I'm still declining a GTT this time round... Just got to tell the consultant...:o
Aww, I missed the nameHi ladies,
sorry all I ever do is come on here to moan but I seriously cannot believe how !!!!!!!g rude some people can be. For the second time someone's reaction to a name WE have chosen for OUR baby has been so extreme it's put us off the name. First time my mum, this time my brother. We've only told close family our ideas and I'm so p!ssed off people think they have the right to give a genuine response if it's gonna be so extreme - it's not like we're considering poo-head or anything. If you can't show tact then don't bloody ask
We're considering going for a really "out there" name for a girl... Hubby mentioned telling people it the other day but I said best not to... People will criticise and turn their noses up to a name, but they're less likely to do it to a baby... Apart from my Nan... She turned her nose up to Aimee's name for months?!A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

I would say a girls name... But then a friend of mine had a daughter and she really liked the name connor... She changed the spelling and called her daughter what is essentially a boys name... Nobody ever seemed to notice...
