  • Prudence a baby can engage at any time some dont at all until you go into labour it is far more common for baby to engage before labour with your first one though. I shouldnt worry to much just go with the flow he/she wont come out until they are ready there isnt alot you can do about it unfortunately. Try looking at the positive side of being induced at least you would have a deffinate date for when baby will make an appearence but just remeber not all ladies go over their due dates i never have :-)

Thanks Xmas, my main worry about induction is the far higher possibility of assisted birth/C-section (also I am planning a home birth but not too bothered about being in hospital but it would be nice to have the HB, which I can't if I am induced).

I think a lot of it is MIL saying that cos I just feel like I have something to prove now but that's just silly I know...

I dunno I just feel really emotional and hormonal and i don't even know why, i just feel like we're a bit in limbo if that makes sense??

you are totally right about going with the flow though i need to just chillax, what will be will be :)

Chances are your MIL went over because she had long cycles... You're far more likely to follow your own mothers history than hers... Thats based on no scientific fact... But then neither is your MILs statement... ;)

Midwife's just been round and filled in my green book... She said they've had no official notification that the surestart grant has changed so we're keeping our fingers crossed we might just squeeze an application in...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Oh I do that if I dont feel bump move too - layign in certain positions on teh sofa usually gets baby going or I scoff a few FAB ice lollies - yes I shamefully said ' a few' but Im pregnant - oh no my last day of using that excuse now!

Sounds realy stupid but before I was pregnant I was on a weight loss plan - not sure if Im allowed to mention the name of the woman founder who is particularly well known with the initials RC. :D but anyway I started it last March and I was 14st 2lbs  (I'm 5'5) and thankfully have a shape as opposed to carrying all in one area but before Xmas I managed to get myself down to 12st 2lbs and was feeling much better for it, then discovered I was pregnant and haven't been near a weighing scale since January. I'm dreading going back near one. But I have found that I'm itching to get back exercising again - the local class I was going to has closed down now - but I cant wait

When is it your allowed to start getting back in shape after a baby?? obviously I'm not going to launch into some celeb mum exercise routine and 'live on a lettuce leaf a day' diet but I'd like to get the ball rolling again.

I know exactly what you mean i lost 6stone before i got married four years ago, with weightwatchers got to goal just before wedding........fell pregnant on honeymoon!!!!!!!

I went back to weightwatchers as soon as i was up and about, they do a new mothers plan which also takes into consideration the amount of calories needed for bf'ing.

I got a lot of people thiking i was crazy to start it so soon again after having her but i had worked too hard to lose it to put it back on again!!!

So go at your own pace don't give yourself a hard time about not losing weight quickly. It took nine months to put the weight on so it should take nine months at least for it to come off!!!!
I don't get nearly enough credit for not being a violent psychopath.

Sammy Enjoy your last day. Huge Labour vibes :D

Pigpen - Is that a good price?? for the Pliko?? I take it they are nice prams??? Any help advice would be good. x

I'm not Pigpen :p but I think that seems a good price, I really wanted the Pilko as I love the design of it and colours you can get, but it was too out of budget for me. I think the Silvercross 3D is fairly similar style though (what I have got) as I wanted a 'pramette' style one. I think as long as this Pilko is in good condition, clean with plenty of use left in it it should be fine, you might even be able to be cheeky and ask for £10 or £20 off :D

Well I have been up most of the night, had cramp for over a day now, its the muscle in my calf, it is constantly tense and just keeps making my whole leg cramp up. Also had to get up for the loo about 6 times in the night. Starting to panic am I ready for a baby.. I know a bit late now.. but seriously.. am I capable of looking after one?!

dear prudence don't you just love MIL. Mine kept insisting after DD was born that she looked just like SIL, which she doesn't in the slightest and I found it so annoying. She does the same with DS and apart from the same colour (but not shape) eyes and same colour skin (more olive coloured than me and DD) I just don't see it, I think he looks alot like my cousins.

With the swollen ankle I think it's very common and lots of people only get one. It'll go down after the birth. Mine get swollen (mostly the right one) if I stand for too long. By too long I mean for more than an hour its really frustrating and yes the heat is making it worse. Mine are not massively swollen yet and it goes down after a good few hours with my legs up but I know it'll get worse the further on I go. It is really uncomfortable, my shoes are tight and my feet hurt after an hour being stood up which is just no good for work.

Sammy good luck, agree with Xmas and relax, enjoy this last day xx

Good luck Sammy, enjoy (if you can) your last day of pregnancy and very very soon you will have your bubs in your arms!!

Hope all the ladies not feeling well, feel better soon xx

My bubs seems to have camped his head right up by my ribs, even DH said he could feel it - feeling very squished. Re nausea I have felt like that on and off for a few days, think it is bubs taking over any space left!!

Re movements mine has been kicking me hard when I'm on my side, last few days seems to have been quite painful - def struggling to get comfortable at night and day now.

    I can't believe I'm 30 weeks (only 10 to go!!)
Thomas born 28/08/2010 weighing 5lbs and 4ounces, small but perfectly formed :j:j Now weighs 19lbs and 5 ounces

Are periody-type pains at the start of the 2nd trimester normal?

I'm 14 weeks today and haven't been feeling much, but just getting a few crampy pains today.

Hoping it's all normal and just uterus stretching etc...just wanted some words of comfort!
