Dh and I got the dreaded name books out last night. What a total nightmare that was :o

You would think with only half the book to choose from it would be easier! I was so convienced it was a boy that is was going to be Issac James that I am now totally lost because it is a girl. The only thing I LOVE for a middle name is "tiger lilly" but DH HATES it with a passion. It is a middle name and for me it's beautiful and how often do people use a middle name???

    Is it me???????

We don't even discuss it.. I like Tigerlily.. it is the name of the squaw in Peter Pan.. :p.. i use middle names a fair bit actually.. and DD1 loves hers.

Thank you all so so much for your support. Particular thanks to pigpen, Tigs and others last night, as I was a hormonal wreck! This is turning into an Oscar speech! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

DD has been up since 4.30 as she had a nosebleed, so had very little sleep. But morning has made things clear!

I would have forgiven alcoholism, lies, deceit, general !!!!ness with money, unreliabilty (painting a good piccie here :rotfl:) to enable to him to be a father BUT I will not forgive the threats and how he made me feel last night.

I have realised, that last night, what little love I had left for him has gone.

That may just give you the drive to do what needs to be done and kick him into touch..

I hope you seeing things clearer and can see why he could never get the children (plus the courts being geared towards mothers keeping the children is a bonus for you)

Mumof1 How about asking Midwife to check if cervix is softening although she may only do that is baby is low.

Tinkwings Me and OH dont fully agree on names so as a way of smoothing things out I chose DD first name and OH chose her middle name (Isabella Faith) and for a boy if we have one next OH chose 1st name and I chose the middle name so it will be Alexander Phoenix.

If we have another girl I think we may just go with Alexandra or Amber but not really thought about more girls names.

I am now 35+3 and the reality of everything being set up and ready has hit me like a brick this morning.. wondering how I will cope as a single mum with a toddler and a newborn.. even more so if I end up with a section. I think its the section thing thats getting me down a little atm? As if I have a section I will not cope... I have no friends or family who can help... DS's dad can have him for a week or so, but to me the longer DS is away the more problems that would cause. So I am thinking "what the hell will I do? how will I cope? will they take my kids away if I cant manage? will I get pnd?" arggghhh. I am doing my own head in :(

Don't panic. I am in a similar boat, DD will be 7, she can stay with my mum for a couple of nights, but that's it, I'll be alone.
Except...........DOULA!! Have a look on their website. I have no idea how much practical help she will be, but as that ladies on here can vouch, I was all of a quiver, but as soon as she was sorted I instantly felt calmer.
PM me if I can help at all xxxxx

ok so I was going to get a petite star zia but on netmums someone locally is selling a urban detour 3 wheeler which I know I like for only £25! Is there something in particular I should look out for when I go have a look at it? Would be an absolute bargain if its ok. Now we have the zafira we don't neccessarily need a pushchair that folds really small so I'm not too worried about the size of the urban detour now.

My Mum bought an urban detour when My sister was born (now 7) and used it for my brother too (now 5) and was going to give it to me as its still in good nick. The one thing she said to me when I bought mine was can you fold it down/set it up with one hand? As other hand may have child in it.

emsy im glad the morning has shed new light on the situation for you. *Big Hugs*

Today is my first day off for a week and a half so Im planning on chilling out with some light housework this afternoon. I start my new job on Monday so with all the excitment/anticipation of that, the past couple of weeks have flown by and its not long untill my 12 week scan, DH is uber excited about it and so am I.

Yay im not bottom of the list any more (untill I get more accurate dates at my scan :o)

I hope you get your mummy hugs soon Sammy.

Does anyone know how I'd go about asking for a membrane sweep at 38 weeks? I do not see the consultant now until term+2.

    <snip>

I have been trying to do research on membrane sweeps with vbac, and even though they are only 50/50 successful if your cervix is getting ready, there seems to be no evidence that it increases any risks. So worth the ask eh?
You'll struggle to get anyone to do a sweep until you get to 40 weeks - and for good reason. The body goes into labour when it's ready. A membrane sweep may tip the balance and help things along - but only when labour is close by anyway IYSWIM.

If you want to avoid a section, then it's best to avoid any induction full stop.

Hope babe comes soon for you!

As you know we've had name issues but "it happened" the other day and names were decided:j:j:j

    Boys name was particularly difficult.

My advice... If you have a name book radomnly every now and then turn to a page and go through the names on that page. I'd been doing it for ages and the other night turned to a boys name page and the meaning of a name jumped out at me:D

If you know what I've been through with this little bean you'll know why the meaning made me grin and I thought "yep that's him";):rotfl:

I'm not going to say why the meaning or name is:p:p:p:p:p

I just hope it's a boy now:o Of course I'll be equally pleased if its a girl:)

Kitkat i think its still important to find ways of enjoying it though. If she is worked up enough she wont care about the kicking which seems to work. It puts me off a bit too but the length of time in between can get lengthy so eventually we just dont care :-p

Opinions needed on baby names. I know its early days and although we're on team blue there is still a chance they got it wrong at the scan so ive picked some lady ones too! Havent discussed these ones with the OH but we're struggling to pick so we each come up with 5 new ones a day (although i keep throwing imogen in there as i like it)

    Joshua
    Ethan
    Elden
    Keane
    Ruven

    Imogen
    Ava
    Evelyn
    Keryth

I dont like normal names but i dont like anything really silly like Apple either. Something that sounds elvish or Gaelic normally appeals to me and i like the meaning of some too. Which one do you guys like?

We decided on Evelyn years ago for a girl, Its my Great Grandmothers name and DH's Granmas name. If its a boy we have no idea but we still have ages to think about that. :D

Im with you on the slighty obscure names but not totally random names. I like the idea of them being at school and not having other kids with the same name.
