HI Ladies thank you for your help & support :A

DH has just come home and brought equiptment from work (he is a vet) and we have found the heartbeat :) At least I know that it is still alive in there even if I can't feel it.

I have but a drink in the freezer to get ice cold and will see if that works.

The on call MW was a bit of a cow and so I will go to A & E if i still remain unhappy. DH has said that I can book a scan for Saturday if I am still unhappy & the NHS are still not playing ball. Does make me mad that you pay for a health service and when you need it they are not interested

I am 18 weeks and have felt baby for at least the last 3 weeks.
If you can think it........it will happen

tinkwings - glad you have found the heartbeat. I am sure it's just that with everything moving around with the tummy upset that it's hard to tell and baby has moved. And don't apologise - this is what the thread's for!

I have had a cool bath and read some more of my 'the first six weeks' book. DH went in the baby's room tonight (where he's now sitting on the sofa reading) and said 'is there more stuff in this cot?' hehe, the new blankets etc are sitting in there! :D

hiya, just catching up on lots of pages!
    congrats fernliebee.
for the internal examination i had one about 26 weeks i think cos i had a bit of spotting at work. Wasnt bad just a bit uncomfortable.
My mat leave starts from my due date, this is the latest i could leave it at my work. but im taking hols for 3 weeks before hand. I have 30 min commute to work but i drive so not too bad. Also think i would get bored if i came off earlier but dont know how i will cope with a roasting hot workplace for the next few weeks. my feed already look like bricks at the end of the day. Will see how i last but cos my mat pay is rubbish want to leave it as long as possible.
think am going to go for reusueable nappies, thinking ones where you flush the inside bit so i dont have to deal with lots of poo, but leaving it till afterwards so get baby sized correctly.

    Hi everybody

Just a quick post to say thanks for all the advice I've had from this thread , I can't believe that tomorrow is the day I will be hopefully having mummy cuddles-time has flown.Going into hospital at 8am for c section just doing final bits of prep now but have been finding it very difficult as I keep ahving flashbacks of my previous spinal surgery,It sounds silly but I had a rough time when I was younger healthwise and hospitals scare me so please could I request some calm and safe c section vibes.
Fingers crossed that they let my mum wait with hubby until I come round from the GA otherwise It will ruin my day-It's all I want for my mum and hubby to be there with baby and for my mum to see him or her first.

Labour vibes to those who need them and congrats to new mummys x

    Hello all

Jumping in on the cervical scan issue, I have never had internals before and afaik it isnt routine. However, since my last pregnancy I have had LLETZ treatment for CNII. At my anomoly scan today which was done by the consultant I mentioned this as my midwife had asked me to and she seemed pretty displease that I had not been routinely scanned at 16 weeks.

This is in Leeds so I am not sure if its just their policy re the LLETZ (16 weeks and 23 weeks) but she did scan me after the anomoly scan and I proud to say my cervix is 36mm long - now how many of you know the length of yours ;):p :rotfl

She does however still want me to go back af 23 weeks

Anyhoo, anomoly was all good :D:D:D:D and she was intensely thorough (must have been 30 mins at least) and all is fab so I feel like a huge weight has been lifted.

She did ask if we wanted to know the flavour and it was obvious when she asked that she already knew - that was sooooooooooooo hard. I was laid there thinking "It's my baby, you shouldn't know the sex when I do" - lol - but we stuck to our decision and are definitely team yellow (although I think its a pink one)

HUGE congrats to fern, well done and welcome :D

Labour vibes to all who need them and stay put ones to those who dont.

Oh, I booked my wedding last night too :D:D:D

    Sorry for the imense post!!
