Obviously I missed a whole page of reading before I replied :o

Tinks - I'm 20 weeks and have been feeling the baby since about 14/15 weeks - however its also very hit and miss so please try not to worry too much if he's not too active just yet. Glad you found the HB but as others have said, if in any doubt get A&Eing - is it wrong I am sniggering slightly that your DH used his vet gear?

Sonee - GOOD LUCK and happy mummy cuddles for tomorrow :D

Pigpen: thanks for the links re: nappies :)

Smartie: thanks for the pm :) I am sure u asked about hypnobirthing few pages back, I have to confess I only listen to my CD once per week, I will try do it daily like Xmas. I also fall asleep everytime!

Had my consultant appt today... What a waste of time! An hour journey, appt was for 2 hours to meet my consultant, tour labour ward and have scan. My consultant wasn't there, the replacement was hard to understand. He felt my belly, listened to heartbeat and said my baby was fine. No scan, no tour and was out in 5 mins! I also have protein in my urine sample, so they are sending my sample off, any ideas of anything I can do to get rid of this?!

    Morning everyone x

sonee good luck today, safe and calm c-section vibes for you xx

Tigtag I could find out my cervix length but I'm not going to if I can help it lol

tinks I hope you are feeling better today, sounds like you had an awful time yesterday.I do think perhaps you've not felt the baby move because of the sickness and tummy cramping etc Glad you found the heartbeat though.

I've only felt the baby move once or twice and they have been proper full on kicks, I had a little flutter yesterday but its all few and far between at the mo, can't wait to feel it properly and a bit more regular.

Doctor rang back yesterday and has booked me for a blood test today, I think it's to check if I have had chicken pox before. DD has had a few more spots come out but to look at her you really wouldn't know she was sick. So do I take DD with me to drop DS at preschool? Not sure the other mums will be too happy about that, although it has gone round DS preschool so most of them have had it. DS is also supposed to go to an afternoon session at his new school today but its DD class so is it best to keep him off this - there is another one next week.

My little boy has had chicken pox when he was 18 months - he's now 6 and the doctor told me that they aren't contagious any more once the spots start coming out so by which time if she was going to infect anyone the chances are she already has without knowing she had them in the first place .

Although will say watch yoruself adn partner because even though Ben had the chicken pox he managed to give Owen (my partner and his daddy) shingles in the process! so I had two sick men in my house!

Chicken pox is contagious until all the spots scab over. It's also one of those childhood illnesses that most sail through but can be very serious for others. I'd never knowingly expose others to the risk after a friends child ended up in intensive care due to the illness.

    Well all Im still here

Today is D Day!!!! :j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j having a few niggles in my back this morning but think that was more to the 'other antics' this morning. ;)

Off to see the consultant at 10.15 this morning after the missed IV treatment but taking my mother in law as back up - little scottish lady from Dundee - ha! no messing!!

Really want her out now though - am desperate to meet her! Hoping the consultant / trainee midwife will give me a sweep today.

Had very odd time last nigh though - one of my feet swelled. not both. just one - it like ballooned up and was hurting my toes! couldn't even stand to go in shower! its fine now though but not had one swelling on its own before - most bizarre.

Forgot to take iron this morning so am sat with my second cup of tea but will be good as of 8am and not have any, do school run, get home for 9am and take pill, have shower and brekkie before consultant.

    good luck today sammy x

I'm not worried about shingles I'm worried about weather or not I've even had chicken pox. I know she would have already been contagious and still is but she is gonna have to come with me to the hospital for my blood test as there is no one else to look after her, I will drop DS off to preschool today but wait in the car till just after 9 I think then just run him in. Most the kids there have had it already. I'll keep DS off tomorrow and we can all just camp out at home , that is fine. No doubt he'll have it soon too, but isn't unwell at all at the minute. DD has a spot in her mouth poor thing but if she isn't playing she is checking out her new spots in the mirror so I think she'll be fine with it.

Morning ladies Hope your all ok and not suffering to much :-)

Well i had an awfull time from around 4am leg just wouldnt stop cramping and with the pain i have in my foof at the moment means i have been barely able to move. Bubs is up and fed and content for the moment so as long as i take it easy and get my muscles moving slowly i should be ok in and hr or two. I cant wait for the summer holidays no more flaming school runs they are beginning to become murder for me.

Merfe I hope you bloods come back as immune i would try not to worry to much as only a very small percentage of women are not immune and then only a very tiny percentage of them ever contract chicken pox even coming into contact with it and your past the most dangerous stage which is the first 12 weeks.

I'm starving but i keep heaving so in two minds weather to eat or not as not sure if its morning sickness again in which case i will just throw up or if its the hunger causing the heaving hey ho what a wonderful thing pregnancy is .............

  • Re chicken pox , my son had them about 3 weeks ago, an oat or baking soda bath helps itching and the calamine cream is much easier to apply than the lotion, antihistimines (sp) help with itching. It took about 5 days from first spot until all spots were out and it took a further 5 days for the scabs to drop off. He still has marks which I'm hoping will heal over time. He thankfully eat and drank as normal but was quite tired and had quite a temperature ( he briefly went hysterical during a particularly bad spike in his temp ) Hope this helps K
Busy mum of 3, so if my posts don't make sense or ask a silly question be patient:rotfl:

I second an oat bath - me and ben are both allergic to camomile so this was a god send.
