Sorry if TMI but I am sat here really scared & upset.
I had had a really really violent upset tummy today that has got worse and more frequent as the day has gone on. I am left with really painful stomach cramps and baby has not moved ALL day. Spoke to the on call MW who said ring labour ward rang them & they won't let me in due to the upset tummy. Which I can understand but where does that leave me..............Sat here stressed right out..:o
Sorry ladies
Ring the midwife back and explain they don't want you to go in case you are contagious and ask (insist!!) if she can come out to you.. or someone else can.. or if she can make them see you tonight or tomorrow.
try the on call GP as well if you have no joy with her.. or.. go to A&E.. they have portable scanners so will be able to check baby!
Have an ice cold drink/ice lolly/ice cube and go lay on the bed see if that helps.. or a fizzy drink... they usually get babies hopping about madly!
Stop panicking and relax.. deep breaths... it is common for them not to move for a day or so with no cause other than they are growing.
And don't apologise for being scared.. it is understandable!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

Hiya all,
Not had the best of days, lunch didn't stay down for longhopefully dinner will be better!
Regarding the internal ultrasound, this is usually only done when you are very early days (before 7-8 weeks) due to the fact you can't always see very clearly externally. Having a full bladder helps as this can act as a window to see the uterus. Don't worry, you will be able to empty your bladder before the internal! The internal shouldn't hurt but the probe is a bit dildo shaped.

TNV don't really have any advice, but wanted to send some support. Like others have said the mental health team may just be happy to see that you're doing well and annoyed that time has been wasted.
delain - who did you talk to about SPD? I am wondering if I have it as my hips are so painful after any standing or walking, like 10 minutes and I'm in pain for several hours. Am not meant to see midwife now for another 3 and a bit weeks (she's only there every 2 weeks so my 25 week appt was at 25+6 and my 28 week one isn't til 29+6, though she said I could book in for the fortnight inbetween if I needed to see her). I do feel like some support around them would help.
Friend popped over and stayed for ages, we had a yummy cream tea which I'd bought...so well behind on work but will just be honest tomorrow and put short hours down on my timesheet. To be honest I'm not sure I'd have made it into the office today if I wasn't working from home so I'm not going to feel bad.
DH is on his way home so I am going to wash up and stick some dinner on. m&s falafel, pittas, rice and salad for us tonight - easy peasy!
This was when the midwife had asked me not to go to clinic (contagious children!) and I just went to see the nice GP and said thought I had SPD and could I have a physio referral please :cool:Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

OMG poor tinks - hope your ok and try not to worry too much.
Let us know how you get on with ringing midwife too.
I second the fizzy drinks or a cup of tea and I find lying on my side on the sofa or bed usually gets babe fidgetting into a more comfortable position or a sharp dig in the ribs! but it could be possible that she is maybe facing your back so not feeling movements as much.Time to find me again0 -

Tinks, how are you now :grouphug:0 -
Tinks if your sitting there worrying get yourself down to A&E even if its just to put your mind at rest. Dont forget you need to keep your fluid and salt levels up sounds silly but an oxo cube will do this if you can stomach it. I hope your feeling better soon x:jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0

Tinks this happened to me and I went to my GP (again the nice postgrad one who had to do a years general practice for his studies) and he listened out for the heartbeat and said that if I still hadn't felt anything overnight then to call back in the morning then he'd arrange a scan for me. Seeing a young male doctor is a good idea, they kind of panic about getting it wrong and go overboard to help
She did start moving again though! I probably just scared her silly, my tummy can't have been a nice place to be whilst I was chucking up all nightMum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o
