Cheers Rach thats one less expense. It does seem really wastefull as well to get rid of a perfectly good mattress so will give it a good steam clean before she uses it :-):jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0

morning everyone x
I had a fantastic day yesterday after the dreaded GTT, I met OH at DS preschool then he drove me to the next town and dropped me at the salon there for 3 hours. I had a manicure, facial, and hair and make up done. Had been feeling such a frump and not really bothered at all since I got pregnant so it has cheered me up no end. It's my birthday sunday but I'll be working so got the treat yesterday. He had also organised one of my friends to come round to babysit so we could go out for a bit. Was brilliant.
Got some chores to do today but will hopefully all go out and enjoy the sunshine, I think beach has been mentioned so hope it stays nice but then back to work tomorrow, at least I still have a bit of birthday cake at the moment.0 -
Hey girls, thought I would join you for the last of my pregnancy
I am 34 weeks pregnant and have a DS who is 23 months old. I am trying for VBAC with baby number 2 as DS was an emergancy section for undiagnosed breech.
How are you all doing? I am running on fresh air today after 2 hours sleep and a very hyper toddler. He's off to his dads at lunch, so I am really hoping to climb back into bed. The nesting bug has well and truly got me - already I have washed up, fed DS, swept, hoovered, put the washing in, tidied the kitchen, cleaned the sofas lol.
I have my last growth scan on MondayIs it 37 weeks when babys are classed as term? DS came at 37+3 and was teeny at 5lbs 9oz, but perfectly fine. This ones on the big size so probably 5lbs already lol. But my god is it dragging now!

I read if it is a waterproof covered one and the baby wasn't overly sicky its fine. TBH my dd was really sicky and I can not be 100% sure the right mattress went back on the right cotbed when they were younger on wash day, although I did buy new moses basket and pram ones because they are so cheap and dd was a really sicky baby (I'm thinking reflux looking back but she was my first and I thought a bit of sick was normal, still sicky when weaning and we had to resort to laying her on her front as she screamed on her back).0 -

OH asked how I slept and I said lik the dead but it doesn't make any difference any more.. I may as well not sleep at all because it just does nothing for the tiredness..xmaslolly76 wrote: »Quick question... Babs has a mini cot thing too use until she is about 10months old then she will move to her big brothers cot as he wil move to a bed will i need to get a new cot mattress? I know they recommend one for a newborn baby but will she need one at that age ? :-)
I wouldn't bother.. I used the same mattresses for mine.. I think over the 8 of them I maybe had 4 or 5 mattresses.. through 3 cots.
Sheets ordered.. hipg stuffed in the savings account I am buying new guttering for the back before winter.. when the SS grant comes through I am ordering the last of the wraps I need.. I have run out of baby wool so may waddle off to the shop later.
OH appeared to be wanting to play tents earlier so I am awake.. he is now.. not awake and never got to play tents either.. obviously I am just so damn appealing once you are properly awake..
He has been warned I am going to spendthe remainder of the pregnancy on the verge of tears or screaming like a banshee.. if I scream.. RUN!! or stay and be beaten lol and if he dares to run whenthe tears start he will be hoofed out the door.. I want sympathy and petting lol...
Good job I know exactly what I am like.. I feel it is only fair to warn him I am a psychopathic loon at the moment!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Pigpen you crack me up! When I met Sir monster we were talking about whether we're more moody etc since preg...I don't think I am but DH is!!!! He's never had much time for any ditsyness...which has increased massively! Apparently last night I asked him twice in 5 mins if he wanted a drink...I was convinced the first time he said 'in a minute i will' but apparently he said no! So I was somehow in the wrong...grumpy git!
pigpen - where are you getting sheets from? I have a £30 basket at John Lewis but may take the chance til monday and go to the waitrose food and home at canary wharf as they might have the sheets as well as blankets...decisions decisions!Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
Thanks for the advice on the baby bag. Hospitals always seem really hot, so I was unsure about vests/ socks.
I know bubbas are a bit 'colder' than us, but don't want to stifle the little critter. Think I might bung a blanket in with car seat, then if the weather is grotty, we can wrap bubs up before going.
Xmas, it could be the heat, it doesn't tend to help with getting a refreshing sleep in the same way as when it's cooler.

I just got them from mothercare yesterday when I realised the girls have about 5 t-shirts between them and maybe 4 pairs of trousers that fit properly!!! I was ordering anyway.. and I couldn't cope with a mooch round Dunelm.. they are on buy 1 get 1 half price.. so were about £10 for 4 sheets so not too horrific.. I would normally get them from the shop up th street but they've not had any the last few times I've been in and I couldn't be faffed with going back again. The 2 littlies both need a whole round of new pj's come winter!!
Bexta.. I've got a vest, sleepsuit, cardy, thin cotton hat and a fleece blanket just in case for bringing mine home.. if we don't need it then even better. My last 4 came home in snowsuits and nothing but their noses showing!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
ordered the stuff, decided was worth it as JL stuff is good quality and it's a good price. Also got some little slipper things, a baby einstein rattle thing and 2 lots of these cute little hats
I've just been through my spreadsheet and we now only need (the rest we either have or is on order, plus some nappies I need to collect from my friend)
Car seat
Cotbed mattress
cotbed sheets
moses basket sheets
nappy wraps
nappy bucket & mesh
reusable wipes/nappy liners - fleece from Ikea basically!
change mat
mobile (i know its not a necessity but would like one!)
Hope I haven't peaked too early!!Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
Rach - ditsyness has increased massively, as has forgetfullness. I can't remember anything, can't spell anymore, and will walk all the way to the supermarket and then wonder what the heck I'm actually doing there. I even couldn't remember once if I'd been for a wee or not, and had to go the loo and try again, just in case. It's quite ridiculous really, does is it ever go back to normal?
Right, best get my butt into gear as house is looking grotty, and the cats have no food!
