is it true that antibiotics cause thrush?? im on my second course in the past few months and ive apparently developed thrush again!! argh!!
was at the hospital on thurs as midwife thought my waters were leaking(i knew they hadnt i kept telling her i had just wet myself, but apparently as i didnt sniff my knickers i had to go in and be checked out:mad:) so then they done an internal examination- totally embarrasing had hairy legs and my foof resembled the amazon! but when they were up there checking she said there was alot of thin discharge up there so she took a swab and now im waiting on the results. i think it might be thrush but i dont know im not itchy or smelly or anything?? anyone had anything similar?0 -
my pushchair just came :j:j:j:j
can you tell I'm excited?!
Tried to remain calm and just left the box at the bottom of the stairs for DH to bring up later...he is learning Latin in the baby's room :rotfl: but he had heard the door and went to bring it up, then I found him ripping the box open like a small child at Christmas! :T He is pretty impressed with my choice in the end I think.
smartie - yes please the black oneThanks. Just got a 10% off voucher with the delivery so could use that at mothercare and make it £40.50 which isn't bad. Other problem is we ideally want to be able to use our Amex card as we get 0% and good points on it, and kiddicare don't seem to take it. Not the end of the world, can use visa if necessary.
dreambirdie - yes antibiotics can def cause thrush. hopefully they have caught it pretty early and you can get it cleared up nicely.Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
To be honest I just love getting a bargain, and although we are ok off now in the past I had a real struggle to make ends meet so sometimes I have to remember that I don't need to justify every penny!
Me too, I was really hard up when I first had DS too and due to the idiocy of men (DS's dad and my own dad) I nearly lost my home TWICE. I think that's what makes me so obsessed with overpaying on the mortgage - I won't fully relax until this house is 100% owned by me.
Who was mentioning preggo-brain? I'm so forgetful now it's actually a bit annoying. I constantly forget the names of my students at work and ask the same question again and again. Weird being pregnant, isn't itUpdating soon...0 -
woo hoo Rach! I'm a little bit envious of your organisation (and you Smartie). I really need to get myself into gear - got so much to do and really not that much longer now to do it. Less than 5 weeks and I'll be 37 weeks :T How did that happen :rotfl:Updating soon...0

Hi everybody
Just popping in as I am feeling very itchy and bored.
5 days left for me, feeling very nervous now just want Thursday over and done with.Sorry for queue jumping.
Oh snap!!!! My due date is Thursday too.
Has to be said this heat today in south wales is killign me - so utterly miserable, irritated, hot, cant be bothered and just in general want to kill anyone who opens there mouth to me in even the remotely wrong tone.
Boyfriend is whinging abotu the bloody dog not being fed, he watched me feed him earlier today - in fact his bowl was on teh opposite counter whilst I was making Ben breakfast so I know damn well hes been fed. Then he decided to whinge that I'd done no cleaning even though he cant apparently get off his backside to help!:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
and joy of joys he will be picking up his other son at 5pm today who quite frankly is a manipulative, spoilt little.........darling - and then boyfriend sits on the comp doing fudge all with them and its me left to deal with them - I can see me losing my rag before the day is out and storming off for a stomp around the park - told him it wasn't really a good idea to have him at the minute as I was apprehensive about the birth as it was, could literally pop any minute, and didn't need the stress of having to try and get him home whilst I was in labour being that he lives an hour in the wrong direction form the hospital!
Think I need a FAB to cool me off. Been shattered today but have been up since 5.15am and its bloody roasting!
Also - what does your plug look like??? I cant remember losing mine with Ben because they broke my waters for me - but have had a yellowy thick discharge today.Time to find me again0 -

Antibiotics ALWAYS give me thrush.. they alter the chemical balance in the vagina and the bacteria go wild.
Thin discharge is perfectly normal in later pregnancy anyway .. extra lubrication for slithering out a baby!
Hairy legs and wild foofs are normal in late pregnancy too..
Sammy... thick.. snotty.. and usually with blood in it..
I will actually talk about anything won't I? NOTHING in the world is sacred lol

especially as the chances of uterine rupture which is the ONLY thing they ever blather on about is about as likely to happen after a section as before.. and MOST happen to women who have never had a section.. so that would imply you are more at risk having not had a section than if you have.. statistically.. The chances of it happening do not increase the more sections you have had.. there has been research done to prove it.
Anyway.. they just do what they always do and use scare tactics to get you to comply with what they want.
Oh.. and should you need inducing after a section.. which they hate doing.. the gel pessary is NOT the way to go.. that increases the chances of problems occuring though the synto. drip is absolutely fine.. as the gel affects the lower uterus which makes things nasty and the drip affects the uterus in a natural manner and should a problem occur it can be stopped immediately.
Yes I researched this thoroughly and made an informed choice!
I read about one woman who had had an induced birth with her 9th child after 8 sections.. so don't be psuhed into anything you are not happy with!!!!
Mine have ALL been back to back labours as well... this one of facing my right side so isn't in a good position right now..
AND.. the ONLY reason they recommend a section if the baby is breech is because it is easier for them because so few midwives have any experience of delivering breech babies they don't want them to do it.. there is no proof that a carefully managed breech delivery is any more dangerous than a head first delivery. Footling breech are slightly more dangerous in case the baby breathes in meconium/fluid once the air touches the body.. but again with careful management it is ok.
yes I agree there is not the expertise to do breech birth. I had three breech births vaginally delivered (I looked after three women) and they were very straightforward but the look of terror on the doctors face was something to behold. Breech babes are generally a little slow on the uptake but once stimulated do very well.I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -

I always get thrush from antibiotics too - daktakort worked for external itchign for me as i was paranoid of inserting anything. That and eating lots of natural yoghurt!
Oh no this stuff was thick with a yellowy tint - no blood in it. although did google it and :eek:
Don't even start on bodily maintenance - cant wait till she out so i can save myself from top to bottom properly.
Boyfriend just left to collect his other son - its going to be a long night!Time to find me again0 -
