    Stay put vibes squeak!

Maybe squeak should have a word with my naughty bean, they could learn from each other I reckon :D

I have woken up with a cold today, been fighting it off all week but have a really sore throat and I'm all bunged up now, like it's not hard enough to breathe anyways at the minute! I'm off for a stomp round the woods later when it is a bit cooler, it's the coolest place I can think of to have a walk.

I have literally no energy at all today though, despite lot's of sleep and stuffing my face too. Meh!
  • I wanted a water birth, but have been told no chance. But then they never have enough staff where I'm booked anyway! Tbh I am terrified of vbac... but I am 100% certain I do not want another section. I don't hold much confidence in the hospital which is why I am panicking slightly lol. With DS he was breech from 28 weeks... even at my 4d scan that I had at 34 weeks.
  • Sorry pressed enter key pmsl...

I went into labour at 37 weeks and it was in my notes he'd been breech and I told them but the mw was adamant he was the right way round. I was in agony and was told it was because he was back to back. After around 12 hours labour I got to 4cm on gas and air and then pethidine.. they had shift change... new mw did internal and then they scanned me and said he was breech. I was hysterical! Ended up having a spinal inbetween contractions and the pain relief had run out.

Took me weeks to recover and I feel the way things turned out effected me getting pnd.

So sort of worried with this one to how it might go x

    Hi everybody

Just popping in as I am feeling very itchy and bored.
5 days left for me, feeling very nervous now just want Thursday over and done with.Sorry for queue jumping.

Picked up some bargains yesterday-mothercare have a managers special section and I managed to find a lovely white panda sleepytime grobag for £6.99(packaging missing) and a sand coloured light blanket from "little one" range for £2.49(ex display). Both items at full price would have cost at least £40.Also attempted to buy a reduced monkey rug and some crib sheets from the same section but hubby wouldn't let me.He is the annoying kind of man who thinks buying full price is best.
I've had to buy extra of each item as baby will be spending alot of time at my mums and I don't want to drag things from my house to mums everyday so finding a bargain helps.

Labour and stay put vibes for all that need x

OMG why do the hospitals and midwives make you feel like a vbac is the worst decision you could ever make. Thousands of women have them everyday very safely with no harm to them or the baby yes there is a slightly higher risk but only slight it bloody annoys me the tripe they come out with when it concerns giving birth.

I watched a video about a woman who moved thousands of miles in america so she could have a vbac home water birth for her twins as she was so against being treated like another number on a conveyor belt going through theater. She had a wonderful birth with no complications at all.

Bubs has just grabbed a raddish out of the shopping bag and shoved it in his mouth his face is a picture that will teach him lol :-)

especially as the chances of uterine rupture which is the ONLY thing they ever blather on about is about as likely to happen after a section as before.. and MOST happen to women who have never had a section.. so that would imply you are more at risk having not had a section than if you have.. statistically.. The chances of it happening do not increase the more sections you have had.. there has been research done to prove it.

Anyway.. they just do what they always do and use scare tactics to get you to comply with what they want.

Oh.. and should you need inducing after a section.. which they hate doing.. the gel pessary is NOT the way to go.. that increases the chances of problems occuring though the synto. drip is absolutely fine.. as the gel affects the lower uterus which makes things nasty and the drip affects the uterus in a natural manner and should a problem occur it can be stopped immediately.

Yes I researched this thoroughly and made an informed choice!

I read about one woman who had had an induced birth with her 9th child after 8 sections.. so don't be psuhed into anything you are not happy with!!!!

Mine have ALL been back to back labours as well... this one of facing my right side so isn't in a good position right now..

AND.. the ONLY reason they recommend a section if the baby is breech is because it is easier for them because so few midwives have any experience of delivering breech babies they don't want them to do it.. there is no proof that a carefully managed breech delivery is any more dangerous than a head first delivery. Footling breech are slightly more dangerous in case the baby breathes in meconium/fluid once the air touches the body.. but again with careful management it is ok.

Pigpen im with you on the breech births. My midwife has been told i will not be booked in for a section if she is in a breech position i will try and labour her myself. Apparently the best way is for them to be completly hands off until the whole body is out which is why i believe they come unstuck as you know yourself they like sticking their noses in and having a mess when there is absolutely no need and the obs just like a another notch on their surgery bedpost so to speak. I have been very tempted to stay at home until its to late then call the midwife but i'm not stupid and without knowing myself where babs is laying i dont want to put her at risk for my own selfish reasons (god i almost sound sensible there). Fingers crossed i believe she has moved now so non of this will need to be worried about :-)

rach... did you get pushchair ok??? I've still got a few bits to pick up from a friend and that is it. All done!! I like to be super organised:o:rotfl:

I think we are very alike...both met DH's online, same age as of tomorrow, organised etc! :T I ordered it from mothercare online, typically they tried to deliver yesterday in the few hours I was out! I have rearranged for Wed and will work from home and not leave the house til it comes! I still need the footmuff but really want a bit of a bargain!

Went to nearby town/suburb...cheaper area so has peacocks, 99p shop etc though I was too hot to really be bothered. Got some mat leggings, a nighty and some cropped combat type trousers...leggings look horrific and I will not be leaving the house wearing them! I then put the nighty over the top to model for dh who was like this :rotfl::rotfl:

Showed DH the baby bits i got yesterday, I always wait til he's in a jolly mood (he knows it too!). He was like 'how did i come in here yesterday (baby's room) and not notice the baby bath etc...that'll be because of how I strategically placed it out of your eyeline :p He then said he doesn't care how much we have/haven't spent on the baby he's more bothered about what it'll cost once its here so he can budget (yes mr finance manager!).

To be honest I just love getting a bargain, and although we are ok off now in the past I had a real struggle to make ends meet so sometimes I have to remember that I don't need to justify every penny!

Spooky!! I'm the same about getting a bargain too;) I'll look out for the footmuff for you. You want the matching one??

...But I bet you don't have a dodgy big toenail like me??:p It's hanging off my toe and I'm scared:eek::o:o:o I've soaked it and it's more loose but needs a little help to come off properly. I can't take it off (I'm nearly sick everytime I look at it) and I won't let anyone else try (not that they want to) I don't know what's going to be under the nail either cos of the bad infection I had:eek: I've considered going to A&E up the road BUT they would have to sedate me to go near it!!! Give me childbirth over this toe problem anyday!!:rotfl:
