    Hiya everyone.
Congrats CAFC and Redmel on baby Landen and Tea.

I had my 12 week scan last Friday and baby is now due on the 29th Dec. Really don’t want him/her to come early though, need some sort of space after xmas! I’m still being sick a lot but hopefully that will pass soon.

What a difficult time your having Sammy, your right, the iron therapy seems a bit pointless at the moment especially when it's such a long process.

sammy - if you aint feeling ill decline the treatment. It would be different it you felt poorly and needed it. When I had it I couldn't even stand up I was so poorly. I hope bubs makes an appearance sooner rather than later :)

Our shopping trip was stressful. Got a goody bag from maternity shop but feel guilty for not buying anything. I was just too hot to look properly and I had 2 stroppy boys with me (DH and DS).

I got the slimmer Boots maternity pads like you mentioned earlier Pigpen. I've already got 1 pack of thicker ones ready for hospital bag.

I really need to de-stress. I might take a look at the teas I won a while ago and see if there's one for chilling out!

Sammy if you dont feel you need it and there is no benefit for baby then just say no. I second the spatone ive been on it all week and so far so good no dia woo woo or contispation :-)

Well i am just about ready to murder someone the kids have been sent to their rooms for fighting for the rest of the night and me and OH had a todo before he went to work, he did nothing but winge and moan at DS1 since he came out of school (yes i know he can be a pita) but Oh was starting to sound like a broken record keep going flaming on anyway it came to head when i made a DS1 pizza for tea he asked for some help to cut it into slices both My OH and DD1 were in the kitchen so i said can one of you help him please whilst i finish feeding bubs. I walked back in 5 minutes later to OH berating DS1 over not being able to cut his pizza himself and him getting all upset about it so i blew my top and told him i specifically asked them to help as i knew he would not be able to cut it up properly and instead of just helping he has now caused a flaming scene and upset everyone. He has been behaving like a 3 year old all day and just wont let anything drop (i'm of a firm belief you have to pick your battles with your kids and to be honest the cutting up of a pizza is not top my list right now) anyway he went off sulking and left without saying goodbye to me just came and gave bubs a kiss
Yes i know we have a lot of work to do with DS1 he was babied by me for far to long and i only realised how bad i was with him when i was expecting bubs. He has been improving alot though, i just feel like all this negative attention he gets from OH is going to send him backwards not forwards and make him feel like nothing he does is good enough yet i dont want the OH feeling like i am trying to push him out or undermine him he is normally brilliant with him and has gotten DS to calm down a hell of alot by introducing a hobbie and spending 1 to 1 time with him on it. I just got the end of my tether today hopefully a good nights sleep (work for OH) will put everything into perspective for us all.

PIGPEN HELP you are my guiding light with things like this and normally have a very simple right under my nose responce that for some reason i am unable to see for myself :(

sammy- i would try Spatone too, ive been taking it for 2 weeks now, and it has improved the way i feel loads, also you dont get any side effects with this like you do with iron tablets etc.

    Thanks for the support all.

Have spoken to my mum, mother in law, sister in law, midwife , midwife on labour ward, my dad and most importantly asked my boyfriends input - being that its his baby obviously and all have said it seems pointless, a stressful procedure that isn't going to help in any way really before she arrives so very much unneeded and a waste of time.

So for now I will keep taking my iron tablets, eating an iron rich diet, will look into the spatone - have a chemist across the road so will ask his advice tomorrow - and will look after myself and look forward to the last week of pregnancy.

Also I agree that induction would probably be easier, they wont do it until I'm a week over though and have already tried booking me in which failed miserably as i wasn't 'full term yet' and then made an appointment to have a sweep with community midwife and go back the 8th July to see about induction. Think I'll be on the caster oil by then though.......

Now jsut have to deal with my swollen feet/ cankles and I'll be sorted - they are really painful today though. :( oh the joys of pregnancy.

Sammy, I'm glad you've decided on what to do. It must be a relief, and I'm sure you didn't need anymore stress. Sounds like you have a sensible plan in place anyway to get more iron. Do you have a sofa you can stretch out on with your feet up? Might help the cankles a bit.

Tigerlee, hi! Lovely seeing baby at the scan isn't it? Hope your sickness doesn't last much longer.

Feel a bit sad, as I've found out one of my little cousins is being bullied as the 'smelly nitty girl', as her mum and dad aren't too hot on clothes washing, and refuse to believe that both their girls have the most awful ongoing nit problem. She's only 6, so I feel cross on her behalf, as she's a nice kid in other regards (though I keep my head away from her after getting nits a couple of times from her).

BEXTA - thanks - don't think i can get a more iron rich diet so figure spatone is going to be of some benefit too - it cant hurt to try can it?

My sympathy with cousin though - my step son had a terrible nit problem and we would treat him and he would always come back to us with lice every weekend - felt like shaving my head in the end but did actually give Ben and Owen both a buzz cut in the end and refused to go near him because i was certain i'd catch them again. His mother was adamant that she couldn't possibly have them though so never treated herself and said her head didn't come into contact with his so i pointed out she must never hug her son then and put a bottle of marks mousse in when he went home next time - not had a problem since.

LITTLESISTERLOLA ---- do you use spatone?? I'm after a few reviews - from what i can gather its just mineral water that you can mix with fruit juice and its naturally rich in iron. Have you used it?? can you taste it in your drink?? Heard pig pen didn't get along with it and have pm'd her to ask why but wondered if I can still take my 3 iron tablets (200mg each) a day and spatone in the morning.

Sammy, it is a bit like that - how her mum and dad aren't crawling with them. Trouble is, whenever the girls have been treated by their aunties, it's always a case of the aunties being in the wrong and 'interfering'.

Could you not have a fun 'sleepover' at yours with your little cousins under the pretext of her mum and dad getting a break and de-louse them whilst they are there? Nitty Gritty really works btw, and works out much cheaper than the others.

    ETA: I see.

Could you not ask the cousins to keep quiet? Bribery works well usually :rotfl:
