Morning all.
I'm trying to find a cheapish holiday for end of July/beginning of Aug when I will be 32/33 weeks. We usually go camping but I'm refusing to this summer - don't think I'd be able to hack it and don't fancy the night time toilet trips. Looking at hiring a caravan/chalet probably somewhere near a beach but everything is so bloomin expensive.
When oh gets home later think we are going looking for a bigger car!
devere venues hotels are lovely they have a deal on for july and aug of £19 a night room only, £69 for 2 nights bed and breakfast or 3 nights bed and breakfast with dinner on first night for £129 this is price per room and you can book as many nights as you want lots of venues across the country many have lesuire facilities, they have family rooms. I can highly recommend staverton park nr daventry been several times on deals - for info breakfast is huge and is £7.50 a person if not pre-booked.0 -
Merfe, I'd get a couple of magazines, cos it is really boring when you're sat there waiting.
Luce, hope everything goes well for you! Must be scary/ exciting knowing you'll be having cuddles soon. :j

Hi ladies
Just spent forever catching up - let's see what I can remember
Ummmm, yay Fuzz for the wolf-whistles :T You know, I think we forget sometimes how good we look. Remember when we were ttc how much we all wished we had bumps!
Sorry for everyone who's feeling grumpy. My advice: get incredibly painful SPD, have 5 weeks off sick missing all of your students' exams and nearly dying of guilt, spend a freaking fortune on private healthcare to suppliment NHS care but somehow get back in control of the pain, go back to work albeit on massively reduced duties and suddenly life is wonderful :T. Yes, I'm uncomfortable and I have to manage the pain really carefully but I'm expecting my gorgeous husband's baby so I can't really see how life can be any better:cool:
If anyone has a vomiting smilie feel free to insert (anywhere you like).
Ummmmmm, now I realy have forgotten everything I was gonna say.
I'll get my coat!Updating soon...0 -
Oh yeah, babies :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
RedMel, you look fab! So well! And tea looks like a little doll - congratulations!
Good to see all the new babies are a nice healthy weight too - lots of 8lbers in there :A
Tinks, dunno about having an early gender scan really. Only you can say whether finding out 2 weeks earlier than you'd probably do anyway is worth £80. Like Fuzz though, I'm not the best person to ask though cos I'm not bothered about knowing.
I feel remarkably chilled about the speed I'm moving up the list although I do wish hubby would get his finger out and sort the baby's room. It's STILL a junk room  Ah well, 8 weeks is loads of time. Went 17 days overdue with DS too so I've got early September in my head. Gonna be so surprised if it turns up at 37 weeks (that's 5 weeks from now! :rotfl:)Updating soon...0 -
Right
OPINIONS PLEASE!!!
Baring in mind I have a week to go till my due date, no one to come with me, and have a phobia of having an allergic reaction so am stressed beyond belief.
I have to have IV iron therapy starting tomorrow. I'll be in a hospital 40 minutes from my home, need to be sat in the hospital for 8 hours for it to be administered over 3 different days (that means 8 hours tomorrow, 8 hours Monday, 8 hours Wednesday and due date is Thursday!) , have no one to come with me to keep me company/support me, its not going to benefit babe in any way, they are giving me 500mg intravenously whereas I'm already on 600mg oral iron supplements, and if an emergency/labouring woman/someone who thinks there is a problem with their bump - then they will take preference over me, ...........
To me it seems fairly pointless - I'm taking my iron tablets regularly - its not benefiting bump in any way, trying to find someone to have Ben was hard enough let alone have him overnight for 3 nights because if I start treatment and its uninterrupted at 2pm then I'm still not going to be finished until 10pm and even then I need to stay another half hour to be monitored and babe is 4/5ths engaged.
Dont know what to do............I want to do the best by baby bump but this isn't even benefiting her in any way. Plus I don't feel ill, have an appetite, no palpitations etc at all - have been slightly tired but put that down to being very nearly almost full term!Time to find me again0 -
sammy hope your feeling better now & good luck tomorrow, very naughty i know but my friend took castor oil and oj last week and her bubs was born within 8hrs:D
Believe me I am so tempted - my sister in law swears by it and I don't see how my IV treatment tomorrow is going to do any good. Have been told it will sit in my system but wont actually help until the blood renews itself!Time to find me again0
