CAFC, your description of OH step-mum made me burst out laughing! You do have my sympathy though. I'd use the hills as an excuse to stay in and cuddle Gordon in peace tbh.

    RANT ALERT!
I'm soooo angry with my uncle who's just quit his job. We're very close in age, as he's the youngest of mums siblings, so he's only 37, but he just doesn't want to work. Never mind the fact he has a mortgage, 2 kids and 2 (1 adult) stepdaughters. He's had more time off 'sick' than any other person in the history of our local council - who he used to work for. They're always skint at the best of times so who knows !!!!!! they'll do now. Oh yeah, he's going to make leather bondage gear apparently :mad::mad::mad:

Thats the most polite explanation I've ever given of her! She just does my nut.
Plus did point out to DH that we've got nowhere for them to stay, no space in baby's room, and Im gonna be getting up 5 times a night by that point so they're hardly gonna want to sleep in the living room (which I have to walk through to get to bathroom) and I'm beggared if I'm sleeping on the sofa!

I just think he's being really unreasonable, and he thinks Im being selfish, as he's now 300 miles away from them and wont have seen them in 7 months.
I've already told him I wont be wanting to go for days out at that point and hes like "well we'll see on the day" and I'm like "No you can tell your ruddy parents now, that I'm not spending my time entertaining them!"

Really am in such a foul mood and to top it all off, have just brought back up all the RLT I've drunk! And I hope noone else has to endure it, but OH MY GOD it burns!!!!

Gill i have a play mat like that and bubs loved it i found it easier than other play gyms as you just zip it up and shove it behind the sofa out the way and i could just throw it in the car if we went to visit people and it would keep him occupied :-)

Awww KitKat - Dont cry hun LOL Although I know exactly what you mean about DH just finding it hilarious. Mine seems to think its really cute at the moment, which is fine when I KNOW I'm just being pregnant, but one day something will set me off and I'll go mental for him being patronising! LOL
But really about sending the stuff, its really fine, plus if I can help someone else out, I'd like to.... we've been really lucky in that my parents have pretty much bought everything for this baby.... if they hadnt I'd be a wreck because we cant afford anything!

    Thank-you :D v nice of you!!!

I know wot u mean about inlaws, I never met OH's dad as he passed away a month before we met, but his mum... omg talk about EVIL! I normally am quite understanding with people, and never judge people... until i met her!! Wen she 1st met me, there was no 'Hi how ru' it was something like 'well I can see why he is with you, if your brains r as big as your chest you'll be a genius' lol. She was serious too!!! She honestly thought the only reason OH was with me was cos she thort I had a big chest! Lol funny thing is I really dont!! She slags off my hair, my make up (dont wear much!) my clothes, my driving, my job, my family, EVERYTHING! And she is as rough as sh*te!!!

    Awww yay for bump!!!
Is that a Bagpuss I see lurking in the background....

His step mum just has no sense of common decency. Some of the things she said after I miscarried were just wrong on so many levels. My parents paid for us to elope to get married, and they came as well, and she asked why they couldnt pay for her and FIL to go as well?!
She thinks my parents are made of money because they've got most of the baby stuff for us, even though I pointed out my nan volunteers in charity shop, so gets first dibs on things that come in, and my mum is addicted to freecycle/boot fairs.....and she said "well considering how much money theyve got I'd have expected them to buy you new"..... and then of course was the classic "well we cant buy you anything, we've got no money, and we've bought presents for 7 grandkids already"

    Oh she's a charmer!
OK is it wrong that I have pizza, wedges and chicken strippers!

CAFC your MIL sounds just delightful too!
I've just had chicken fajitas and doritos, followed by sliced banana, mint choc chip ice cream and half a crunchie! No doubt I'll be picking later on too when Tesco delivers between 9 and 11pm  I feel like a human hoover at the mo, I just can't stop eating.

Yes it is a bagpuss! Theres actually 2 of them, OH won them in a grabby machine and they live in our bedroom lol.
My MIL is the same, she thinks my parents r made of money; ok so they own their own house but they bought it dirt cheap as it needed lots of work, my parents have bought bits of baby stuff for us and MIL has gone on about how they shud have bought us new (as everything is from bootsales/ etc) but my parents cant afford it, plus a baby wont care whether its new or not! Some of the stuff is gorgeous too!! I am so grateful to them, and my mum has advised me and cared for me all thru this pregnancy (if i phoned her now and said i need help she would come over rite now!!!) and i know this will continue through my baby's life, my parents r great :D but MIL hasnt bought anything, she has offered to come look after the baby as long as she is paid  (i wudnt let her anywhere near my baby, she terrifies my little dog enough!) and has knitted some items (which i am grateful for) but i have bought her all the wool and bits she's needed. I love my OH to bits, and i hate it as i wont marry him purely due to his mum :(
