People bought my three new clothes whilst we were in hospital, the twins particularly as they were a week old when we left and i had bought barely anything owing to being too skint. my nan bless her bought them loads of clothes and they wore it all straight away with no skin sensitivity even though they were born at 35 weeks.

so no, i don't feel the need to wash it unless it was second hand and came from a smoking house.

I keep feeling like iam coming down with a cold but then the next day i feel fine again, has anyone else had this.
I think that a bunged up nose etc is quite common in preg...is that what you mean?

Ooooh, someone is selling the Angelcare movement and sound monitor for £20 on netmums, last year's model as her son is one now. What do people think?

I'm also currently winning bids on a mobile and some stickarounds on ebay...DH will go mad as he hates paypal for some reason - wish I had my own credit card still as I used to just give him the amount, now I have a second card on his he sees everything! :rotfl:

ETA: oooh, I just went onto my babystuff spreadsheet and turned a load of stuff green and some more orange :) Think we are almost there!

CAFC, your young man is very cute, although not looking at all impressed at being forced out. Congratulations again on the lovely Landen!

Olipops, I think it's in case of any reactions to treating agents that may be on the fabric.

Rach and Courgette, I'm super jealous of your netmums. The angelcare monitor sounds like a fab deal, cos they're normally over £60, and the TotsBots are a really great bargain too, especially if you can get the real nappy money back.

*Goes off to sulk now cos netmums here is rubbish*

I never washed the new stuff either before ds and dd wore it. Half the stuff they never got round to wearing so I took it back and swapped it for something else - wouldn't have been able to if I'd washed it.

I know I am so lucky, partly I'm quick and keep an eye on it but it's a bonus of living down here....though it's a good job as everything else like rent is so bloody expensive!!!

Rach, that's very true. When you mentioned your rent the other day (think it was you anyway), it did make me go yikes!

I've just washed all the tiny clothes I've bought, cos they've all been 2nd hand, and the nappies, to help them become more absorbent.

Re netmums I've just started looking, maybe a bit scared to get things before! Thanks for the tip Rach re the best site near us as looking at some boys clothes that could be good.

Have my 28 wk m/w appointment tomorrow although I will be 27+3 as I have commitments at work next week and when I booked it about 4 weeks ago, next week was already nearly booked up! Bad news is that this will be more blood tests, good news isn't till 10:45 so I get a lie in!! Think will try to work from home one day this week as is getting hot.

CAFC, little Landon is lovely - well done!

Yep, rent is £900 a month for a flat with no garden...(and we have a good deal). we're also on the edge of London, more central and you'd be looking at that for a room!
I am quite looking forward to washing everything!

It's way better than the other one...I don't even go on the other much anymore! So far I've met some lovely ladies when i've collected things too.

I've finally emailed in laws with some things we need as they want to choose something to buy. Bit embarrassed as there's really only a carseat and cot mattress which are both pricey plus some small things like blankets left! Have just kept saying 'please don't feel you have to buy any of these things'!

Re: washing stuff, I've only washed 2nd hand stuff so far as that's mainly what I've got. All new still has labels so can be returned if not worn :money:

think I've finally organised my hospital bags! I was struggling as I wanted 2 medium sized bags: one for labour and one for after as pigpen suggested. As I don't wana buy another bag, and don't have 2 medium I've now got my case with wheels (not v big case) with labour stuff, 1 set of baby bits and after labour pjs, wash stuff etc. I'm using my pram changing bag for the rest of babys stuff: sleepsuits, nappies, wipes, milk cartons and bottles if needed, etc. This bag will be left in car pre-labour and brought into hosp when needed. Will also keep a carrier in car seat with my leaving clothes like pigpen suggested :) wahay I feel more organised now!

Rach: £900! Woah! Mine is £400 for a 2 bed house with plenty of parking and a small garden, and I reckon that's pricey! Wages r very low here though. I love washing baby clothes :D it's great to see them hanging on the line!
