I'm definately staying out of the christening debate - OH once told me I was the least spiritual person he'd ever met, so it counts me out totally!
Smartie, sounds like you're going to be a busy girl! Very exciting getting a new house, don't overdo it though if you're feeling lightheaded.
Our new (to us) sofa and chair finally arrived, and they make the room look so much lighter, cos our old ones were dark brown. I really want a new rug now, and new curtains, is that bad?

Hello all
really tired not been sleeping great for few days not sure why just wake up every hour. sitting is pretty uncomfortable get pains in right side in ribs think its just where everything is crunched up dont have a huge bump but still squished insides I am sure!!
I work in a smallish direct team at work then a much larger wider team and at a meeting today one of the team said she would like to knit me something and would that be ok and could she have my home address as she wouldnt get it done til after baby was born so would do a bigger size bless her - I know her and spoke to her every time I see her but dont know her that well, these kind of people make you realise how lovely work can be - then someone often brings you back to the real world with thier no team work approach to life!
Our friends had their baby this morning 2nd baby she had c-section with first, well this one arrived on bathroom floor week and bit early!!0 -
MYLITTLESISTERLOLA wrote: »Smartie, what about rescue remedy ? I think it's ok in pregnancy. I'm seeing a counseller for my depression, anxiety and panic attacks. Been to 4 sessions and feel it's helping, my gp referred me. There is some medication that can be taken in pregnancy for depression, I would strongly recommend seeing your gp as if not dealt with now it can leave you at increased risk of post natal depression. Feel free to pm me if you have any questions. Look after and take time for yourself.
Oh I have some rescue remedy in the cupboard I forgot about!! I also have the night time stuff as well:)
Midwife had it down on my notes that I should see someone about depression but it never happened. I had PND with DS so I'm already worrying about it:(
And I don't know if it's linked to feeling yuk but is anyone else embarrased about having a bump/being pregnant??? I was in the supermarket the other day and saw lots of people I knew but that maybe don't know I'm PG... and I hid from every single one of them cos I felt a little bit ashamed?!:o:o:o I'm usually very proud of my giant bump.
Off to make some fajitas as I'm feeling hungry!BLOWINGBUBBLES:kisses2: SMARTIE120 -
I was embarrased about being preg, but for slightly odd reasons...
I went to the mw last week to book in, and worried all day that people would be whispering about me because I was pushing Alex in his travel system and that they would be thinking that baby 2 was not planned (it was). when I got there it was completely empty except for me, so no one saw me go in. Later on I gave a lot of though as to why I had been so worried and now don't care- I am proud to be having another and don't care what other people say or think.:jMummy to 2 small 4 year old bundles of mischief!:j0 -
I explained why... because as a Baptist we believe that baptism is for declaring your own personal faith when you are able to do so for yourself. my understanding from scripture is that people believed first and were then baptised.
At the dedication we will be promising to care for them and also to share our faith, but without the baptism bit because of what we believe about it. Also, the emphasis is slightly different as the church family promises to help and it is to say thank you for the gift of the children.
If it helps, I am baffled when people who don't regularly attend a church as believers want to christen their children but it is completely down to individual choice and belief and I appreciate that my beliefs are quite different to those of other people.
I don't think that is any different from any other religion I have looked at.. XH is Catholic, children are all CofE, XH is of Jewish descent.. it i all very very similar..
So what you are saying is in the Baptist church the baptism takes the role of confirmation in other faiths.. taking on the role of your own individual spirituality rather than being guided by your family and the church community?I'm definately staying out of the christening debate - OH once told me I was the least spiritual person he'd ever met, so it counts me out totally!
Kh told me the only spirit I am interested in is got from the pub/offlicence not the church..
smartie.. is it because you don't want people to know you have had sex??!!! lolLB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Afternoon all
((hugs)) to smartie hope you feel better, do you have a GP you can talk to about this as may have some suggestions? Glad to hear you are going on ML but seems like you will be very busy.
Re christening I think we will have a naming ceremony which will be an excuse on our behalf to get our families together and celebrate bubs being here as would be hypocritical of me to have them christened as we don't go to church.
First day back at work and don't mind working is just the commute esp in the heat, think like Rach will try to get a few days working from home.
Good to hear CAFC and Coventgirl are getting cuddlesThomas born 28/08/2010 weighing 5lbs and 4ounces, small but perfectly formed :j:j Now weighs 19lbs and 5 ounces

Why do you feel guilty Smartie if they arent regular friends then why would you think to tell them unless you saw them. Dont worry about it is what i say you have enough to worry about without adding to it with things that dont really matter :-)
Well i got my spatone just had the first sachet in some orange juice i think im going to take two a day i can get my reserves built up quicker then and i wont have to worry about taking for very long then :-)
Non of my little cherubs have been christened/baptised i dont go to church and i dont believe in god as such. The kids go to a church of england school and get religous education at school which i have been quite impressed with so if they want to get involved in any religion i will support them with any choices they make.:jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0 -
Hi all, not too sure if this is allowed but I have a M&P Primo Viaggio car seat with Surefix base going free of charge. Its slate grey, very good condition, never been an accident. It has a raincover & apron.

Nothing is going to get better. It's not.0 -
Freebie: that's lovely someone wants to make you something for the baby, I have had my friends mum, a friend of mine and MIL all offer to knit stuff, I think this is incredibly sweet
and a lovely personal touch
Smartie: sorry to hear your feeling low, I think you deserve to have a good moan about feeling carp with how troublesome your little bean has been. I actually find I try to cover I am pregnant from some people, I don't regret my baby in any way but I just get a guilty feeling and wana cover up. I just can't explain it but then I feel terrible after like I'm trying to hide my baby and I wanted this baby for so long. Glad I'm not the only one though!0
