Hope some of the due and overdue ladies are having baby cuddles now....
Dh had a lovely fathers day yesterday, hope the rest of the daddies did too:). He actually got kinda spoilt, which isn't like us....we usually do breakfast in bed and a card and that's it!! I was commenting last night that how many gifts we get/how spoilt we get, should be directly related to the amount of kids we have....so by next year we both need extra;)
I also must hve a screw loose as I was also discussing the possibility of another baby closish in age to this one.....we can squeeze one more in the house & car:) Well he didn't exactly say no....although why I actually want another is beyond me, I haven't even had this one yet.....like I say screw loose:o
Off to Asda shopping after school run, will pick up the crates of beer ready for the 2 littlies christening beg Sept....it is only 2mths away and i'm not sure there will be a good deal like that on again before then. Also need to try Boots for the Steri-Bottles....
Have a lovely day everyone
xx
I think me and my OH also have a screw loose.. after we bought the pram (sorry have i mentioned i bought a pram this weekend... lol) OH said to me 'what about if we have another straight after this one, the pram will be useless and we will need a double one' lol. I like the idea of having another not long after, but we would need a bigger house defo!
Re: Christenings, does anyone know the rough cost of one? I really have no idea but I think we would like to save up and have the baby christened at some point!0 -
I just like the idea of a matching set.. little friends to poke each other in the eye and squabble over everything.. and gang up on the bigger ones lol. 2 of mine were twins but their counterparts were miscarried so I always hoped we would get a set to keep.
I like the idea of thatbut I know a friend with twins who found it exhausting as they both liked to see who could scream louder!
Argghh I am soo annoyed people keep commenting on how I look too small to be 32 weeks pregnant, and saying they reckon i'm not even pregnant, whereas a couple of others reckon I am getting bigger by the day.. whats wrong with people  :eek:0 -

most churches do it free.. but some make you go for a few months before booking it and some do baptism classes so you know what it entails.. in which case the cost varies.. if you book somewhere for a party afterwards it can be around £200 with food etc but if everyone comes back to yours (with a bottle) you could just do a BBQ or some run-and-grab style food quite cheaply.kitkat5566 wrote: »I like the idea of thatbut I know a friend with twins who found it exhausting as they both liked to see who could scream louder!

Delain, I've been pottering away with my endless crochet blanket since I found out I was pregnant. I just do a square or so at a time when I can be bothered - hope you're not as lazy as me! Definately with you on the knitting thing, too much to get tangled up in for me, though I'd like to learn. I got the pattern (squared circle granny) of the very pretty Attic24 blog.
Kitkat, I think christenings are a bit like weddings, they can be as cheap or as expensive as you want them to be. I think you have to pay the church a small fee (could be wrong, been christened, but not a church goer), and it may be dependent on church attendance too. If you want a party after, it would add to expenses.
I'm the opposite of you ladies wanting more, it's OH who isn't sure, and me who's fairly sure about just the one!

Thought you might find this helpful. Baptisms are free for everyone, there may be a small fee for the certificate.

We have had to do the double pram, bigger car thing this time round....I reckon we could fit one more baby in this house, with a view to moving in a few years when the older two are hitting teenagers:)
Last time we got the older two done together and the church just asked for donations to be left on the way out:) We hired a hall and had loads of people, party food etc....it did cost a fair bit to do all that. We are getting k and this new one done together in September and have decided to just invite close family and friends. We are going to just have everyone back to our house afterwards:D

Thanks for advise re: Christenings
I think we will try and save (somehow!) and see if the church does charge. Me and OH havent been christened.. so we would need to be, also our 'prospective' god parents might need to be too.. is it getting a bit too messy now?! I like your idea Pigpen of having people come back to ours, but you cant throw a cat in our tiny 2 bedroom house so this might have to be done at my parents house (as they have a nice big garden too) so a BBQ would be good
This baby is really hurting me todayneed to phone my mum to tell her to expect a parcel of mine but I cant remember what on earth it is!
Sooo pleased Cafc is getting mummy cuddles0 -

It doesn't make any difference whether you and OH are baptised or not.. nor does it make any difference if the godparents are..
All my children are baptised but I'm not and neither are most of their Godparents.. some of them I don't know if they are or not.. it didn't matter.. noone even asked.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Thanks Pigpen, to be honest I don't particularly want to be christened!
Well I phoned my mum, and told her to maybe expect a parcel that I have no idea what it is or even if I ordered anything in the first place... lol. At least she had a good laugh at me!
Just drinking a can of coke.... damn pregnancy making me crave the evil dark fizzy stuff! I am sure its currently rotting my insides as i speak!
Also printed the manual for the pram, the one that comes in the box confused me completely and the one online looks so simple, ahh the wonders of the internet!0
