Courgette.. sounds like BH's to me.. REAL contractions hurt less!!

Thanks Pigpen. I remember when I was in labour with my son I walked about 3 miles into town and back and the contractions just made me feel a bit distracted. I didn't have any BHs with him either but I've been having them this time for weeks and weeks this time - and I can't believe how much they hurt!!!

Courgette - The pains sound to me like BH, I had never had any with ds1 &2, but with ds3 I was in agony with them from around 30wks, everytime I did the school run I could barely walk halfway before I was doubled over in pain!!! The increase in discharge sounds to me like thrush, that can have an odd smell to it? Maybe give the docs a ring about that....

Muslins - I bought a pack of them last time and never bothered with them, I found them annoying....they just ended up in the bin.

Our best muslins are the ones I got from Asda/Tesco- gave them all 3 washes each.

We have about 25, which isn't enough for us, but we, like pigpen, use them for everything with Alex- wiping up dribble and sick, occasionally stuffing nappies, as a sheet under/over him when it is warm, as a makeshift hat (he looks like a shepherd in a school nativity)... everything.

10+5 today and all is good. Got our 'dating scan' appointment through yesterday- I will be 14+6 when its done, so not so happy about that, but I guess it is the best they can do and at least I have had a scan for reassurance, even though we did pay for it. Will be really unhappy if they decide I then can't have one at 20 (our PCT has been looking at changing to one scan at 15-17 weeks) and will get midwife to fight our case as Alex has a birth defect so we want the detailed scan done as late as possible so they have the best chance of picking anything up.

More than a quarter of the way there now- it isn't really sinking in. I just don't feel very hungry and I have a real adversion to lots of food, but no sickness as such, which is good. I would have trouble believing it was happening again if it wasn't for the scan pictures and the tiny heartbeat I can find with my doppler. Need to start making a list of all of the stuff I need to buy duplicates for when I have 2 babies!!!

Oh, and I have new nappies to try one they are dry from their prewash... I am v happy today :)

PS- Vibes to CG... get a move on, Alex wants to meet you and your yellow sprout for a hot chocolate!!!

Hi KT - my last baby was born with two congenital birth defects and I am having my 20 weekscan done by a Dr rather than the radiographer - are you seeing the consultant at your dating scan? It may be worth speaking to them too :)

I hate that the months and weeks dont add up! Im a few days off 20 weeks, which is 5 months...so I think "great, only 4 months to go". But its not, its another 5 months and im only half way :(

20 weeks isnt quite 5 months though as there are 4.33 weeks on average in a month.

20 weeks would be 4.6 months.

40 weeks is 9.2 months so closer to 9 than 10.

Also 37 weeks is FT and 40 weeks is actually 2 more than when you actually conceived even though this is how your EDD is calculated!!

    All ^^^^ is 'ish' ;)

    Still confused :p

delain I'm EXACTLY like you with the sleeping :(

All of the above about dating and due dates etc is exactly why I am not getting too stressed about another late baby. They run in our family and my cycle is 32 days, and I know both times I conceived very late in my cycle too. I am now resigned to the fact that I will be in for the long haul again with this little monkey, and my optimism of having an 'on time' bubba is depleted. Not getting any twinges or any signs except for bubba being fully engaged, although they could be for a little while anyway! Pah! Just really hoping it doesn't come to induction stage, I am booked for a sweep on Fri, but I would refuse an induction and opt for close monitoring instead. Seeing as last time I was just forgotten about anyway and DD was so late with no monitoring or appt's at all I'm sure this little one will come when they are good and ready! Soon though please :D

Been out tonight to a church thing (lots of cake!) and then watched a couple of 24s with DH. Can't believe my 4 day weekend is over already :(

Have secured another netmums bargain...for £10 I am getting a galt playnest and a babybath, top&tail bowl and bath support :) I know lots of people think that the baths are no use but as part of a bundle I don't mind :D Going to collect on Friday when I am working from home. Am so lucky with my netmums site!

Am hoping that boss will have replied to my email about needing to work from home 1-2 days per week tomorrow. I am going to go and see occ health if he says no!

    where is smartie....hope you're ok babe x

Courgette: it's funny you say about contractions as I had terrible braxton hicks today, they have been uncomfortable so far but tonight i was in agony. I had to breathe through the pain and really thought I was going into early labour! Thankfully it has passed now but it was awful. I couldn't sit/ stand/ do anything. I actually found bouncing on my ball helped!

It is if you assume there are 4 weeks in a month, and therefore say pregnancy lasts 10 months ^^
