I have ordered a silver cross pram the linear freeway:j as it can be turned to face u or away when babe starts to sit up, most of them face away and when they said they might want to sit up around 4-5 months i felt that was too young to face away, unles he/she cried :rotfl:and.... iv gone for the new fabric design which is called domino love it :D:D got a good deal at easter, but another voucher sound good, want some toys to go in it!

Ooh Kmckee your so lucky, I really like the linear freeway, my budget is £300 and I havent been able to find one under that yet :rotfl: the only one in budget is the 3D one, and I kinda want just one handle not two as I think it will be easier (plus stop my family loading handles up with shopping!) still need to go and try some out tho!
    Another quickie question...

I know hormones are raging during pregnancy, but is it normal to feel like snapping someones/anyones head off one moment, and wanting to cry the next?

A bit like PMT I guess..but worse. And does it last all the way through?

Pre-pregnancy I was an easy going laid back person who did everything for everyone at work, the minute I fell pregnant I realised how much they were taking the pi$$ and turned into a psycho-b*tch overnight! Lol. I find if someone upsets me I easily cry, I loose my temper (which I never used to!) and just feel like one minute I am happy and the next I feel so low. I feel terrible the way i have been in work over the past few months. My OH recalls our 1st month of pregnancy being the month he was too scared to even talk to me! I do find now even the smallest things irritate me, but I find just keeping my mouth shut, going to get some fresh air at work and hide from everyone for a few minutes does me the world of good!

EDIT: I have found this eases through pregnancy, but now I am 31 weeks I am feeling really uncomfortable, heavy, and counting down the days until I am off work, so the irritability is back!

Morning folks and thank you for all the lovely messages following the safe arrival of Izzy.

Mum and baby are now home, having only spent a day at hospital and last night went well and we managed to get some kip :-)

Izzy has taken very well to breast feeding and whilst we have a manual pump, were thinking about getting an electric one. Any suggestions or recommendations would be appreciated.

We got 2. One I posted on FB of squished bean which was "ok". The other one has only been seen by a few RL friends and here it is:

    2af9ti.jpg

I've turned the scan pic to the side for the above.

You have to see the scan pic in person to understand why the friends who have seen it have rolled around the floor in tears of laughter and called bean devil/demon child! I actually found it difficult to look at at first:o It really is freaky!! You can see the eyes, nose and mouth in quite a spooky way and the arms seem to look like they are out in a "zombie like" way. Can't quite see the horns!!;)

We also got a couple of face pics at the 23 week scan that are a bit scarey as well:(

Don't worry... we do laugh about devil child!!!:D He/she truly is a devil causing me all the trouble that I've been through already;)
Oooo Zombie baby:D:D At first I thought it looked a bit like a turtle:o sorry:o
Thats all I'm saying on the matter otherwise, knowing my luck, I'll come back this afternoon with a something that resembles an alien:p

Any tips to get a good piccie at the scan?? I'm planning on having a coffee about half hour before we leave as hoping the caffeine wil make bubs go mental:p:rotfl:

Is Mrs AB finding the manual one a bit tiresome?? I only ask coz I have one and this is one of my worries when bubs appears:o

re the breast pump i always used a manual but then i was only expressing on the odd occasion if regular then maybe an elctric would be best.
I would also say that she should wait til breast feeeding fully established before pumping or giving bottles (usually a few weeks) as it can confuse both baby and breast!!!!!!!

whilst we are talking breastfeeding, could those that have done it successfully please tell me what you might do in my situation. I've always breastfed until I ran out of milk and it takes over a week for my real milk to come in (I think a side effect from having them early by c-section), also they have to have top up feeds for the first day or so until their blood sugars are stable. With DD they gave her tiny cup feeds but DS just had a bottle and didn't seem to get nipple confusion. When I had DD she lost alot of weight whilst I was waiting for my milk to come in, trying to breastfeed her and I don't really want this to happen again. With DS I gave up the first night there was no early milk left cos he was sucking constantly all night but there was nothing there and I think I panicked that he would start to lose weight too. I won't give up so easily this time but I was hoping to give the odd top up just to get through that time when there is no milk there, I know it isn't advised and maybe isn't the best way to go about it but surely it could still be done this way, I think it give me more chance of successfully breastfeeding.

smartie I think loads of people get pics like that, I'm sure I had one wth DD but I can not be bothered to dig out her photo album to check. I really hope this one poses nicely for the 20 week scan pics because everytime she took a pic at the 12 week one he wiggled and so he looked lovely and clear on the screen but the photos were a bit pants.

Well no-one else has admitted to me to having a scan picture that resembles a devil zombie child!!:rotfl:

Carry on with the names CAFC;):D

Fuzz... I have no tips whatsoever for getting a good pic (obviously:rotfl:)

I've just been out and bought a Father's day card from bump:D It actually says "from bump":) Don't think bean liked it though as I was having very sharp pains:eek:

Oh and don't have lemon cheesecake slices from Morrisons... ohmigoodness did I have the worst heartburn ever during night - mixed with the taste of lemon puke!!!

I'm hoping the chocolate one in the fridge treats me kinder;)

Merfe Ok so I've not done it before but I'm lucky I have a VERY forthright b!tch of a sister who went through this:) do what you're comfortable with:) If mixed feeding works for you and means you're not gonna get stressed go for it, screw what the midwives and the 'professionals' say, your baby, you're the one feeding it and you'll be the one taking it home not them so if you're happy feeding a certain way go for it:D
I believe it's easier to mixed feed now as well coz of the closer to nature stuff??? might be wrong though

God the midwives are gonna hate me, if I stick with this attitude:eek::p:rotfl:

thanks fuzz, I don't want to mix feed forever just till the milk comes in so just a little longer than they would normally give the top up feeds for. I can only try I suppose. I just really do want to breastfeed successfully this time. I don't get to have a natural birth so it's something I'd like to do.

Smartie don't make me dig out the photo album its on a high shelf I cant reach it. I'm sure I remember her looking quite scary and OH making a few comments but also it was nearly 6 years ago so maybe I've forgotton exactly what she looked like. No zombie arms though, that is unique to you lol

Can't believe how many of you will have your babies in the next week! Good luck & labour vibes to all who want them.

I saw on hotdeals Tommy Tippee Closer to Nature 6 Bottles for £9.99. I just got a pack and they have slow flow teats. Anyone know if they are any good? I planning on breast feeding and only want them for expressed milk. First baby here and a bit clueless.

I have been told tomee tippee would be the best if breast feeding, although some older mums swear by avent! I have gone for TT and bought some stuff, will check out the offer tho thanx

They did this with DD she was tiny when born and her blood sugar dropped in the night and i had no problems continuing bf'ing her i think the bottle so early on probably doesn't confuse as they are so tiny and unaware and they are only getting colostrum anyway.

I think it's when bottles are introduced once milk comes in and baby and boobs have not yet learned how to control it. Sucking a nipple is harder than sucking a botle so babies will prefer the easy option.

But i think if you wait till baby (and mum) are fully confident with nipple feeding bottle feeding becomes less of a an issue.
    Hope this makes sense:D
