Morning All
Well I have 2 weeks and 6 days to go - was 37 weeks yesterday and I'm majorly fed up and feeling low. Really keep hoping I'm going to go early.
Saw my midwife on Tuesday, the first one (a trainee) was lovely and gentle - very soft spoken and when she checked my stomach she told me that baby was free again but head down so that's a good sign (although 2 weeks ago when i thought my waters had part gone she was head down and 3/5ths engaged!) .
The second midwife basically just man handled me and pressed so hard on my tummy that I was convinced she was trying to break my waters for me! then she asked me if I was due next week - um..........no I have just over 3 weeks left which she seemed a bit shocked at. She checked heartbeat - all ok - and then once she measured me she told me that at 37 weeks babe should be measuring 34cms and my babe is measuring 39cms at 36+5! so she said I am likely to have a big baby and might have to look into a possible elective c section which scared me s**tless - I hate taking any form of medication so the thought of having to be numbed is horrendous!!!!!! because I still have two weeks of her gaining weight to get through before my due date. Either way looks like she might be looking at a weight range like her big brother - Ben was 9lb 7ozs born and 9 days overdue!
She then announced that she doesn't think I'm going to make my due date on the 1st July and that if my waters went before Thursday (yesterday) I would have to go to a different hospital which all I have heard is horror stories about - seriously not one good birth story! - so thankfully now I'm past 37 I can go to my hospital of choice which is where I had Ben and it was lovely and homely.
Thankfully though I think little lady has dropped down as I have had no heart burn for the last 4/5 days now so hoping that's a good sign and am getting a grinding feeling when I'm walking - also think I may only now be getting some braxton hicks! either that or I have been totally oblivious to them and presumed they were just bump wriggling!
Also relaxed lots on Wednesday as I now have my cot set up, Moses basket to make up and my travel system ready to go! (have other bits and pieces all sorted) so now I just need little miss to put in them!Time to find me again0 -
morning all
am up and dressed and have eaten which is a start! Going to catch the bus to the station rather than walk just as it's a bit easier. Am actually going to get a slightly earlier train that I'd planned as I was awake and means I can have a longer lunch, plus should get a decent desk then!
Will try and log on from work hope scan goes well fuzzMum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
:o:o Hehe... it took me 7 weeks to admit to you lot I AM ACTUALLY having a devil child!!
It was very gutting at first to have that pic and can't quite believe the sonographer gave it to us!! I bet she had a right old laugh after the scan:eek:
Of course I love my little bean as much as I would if it had a little halo and angel wings!:D:D:D
Oooo so many ladies ready to pop! How exciting:jBLOWINGBUBBLES:kisses2: SMARTIE120 -
Morning ladies and gents
Well this morning is not going well at all OH let bubs jump off the bed head first it took all my energy not to shout and ball at him told him he has to watch bubs like a hawk now he can get about he took his eyes off him for a second whilst i was on the toilet and bubs just launched himself over his legs. Poor bloke was in tears he was so worried bubs is fine and seems non the worse for wear though apart from a little shocked at first. :-(
Aww Smartie you are not having a devil child lol. If you go by the 2D scans i should have three evil aliens by now ;-):jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0 -
I love the pic smartie! Bean will probably turn out to be an absolute angel, after being such a horror throughout your pregnancy.
We nearly had a similar pic on Wednesday. Flump was just not having the sonographer's pleas to "pose nicely", so our choice of pictures ended up as one of his/her spine and back of head, or a partial head shot that looked like Skeletor! We chose spine and back of head. Hopefully Flump will be a little less camera shy once out in the real world!
One of DH's work colleagues has offered us some cloth nappies :T Not sure what type, but will be good to have a go and see how we get on with them before I commit to buying any.You can do anything, make anything, dream anything. If you change the world, the world will change.0 -
Can't believe how many of you will have your babies in the next week! Good luck & labour vibes to all who want them.
I saw on hotdeals Tommy Tippee Closer to Nature 6 Bottles for £9.99. I just got a pack and they have slow flow teats. Anyone know if they are any good? I planning on breast feeding and only want them for expressed milk. First baby here and a bit clueless.

They are a very similar breast shape and much softer than a normal tete.I don't get nearly enough credit for not being a violent psychopath.0 -

Morning all.
Smartie, that piccie is really cool - I'm sure it was just beanie being naughty again, and that in reality they'll be very cute.
I just cba at all today (sad really cos it's only 9.30). Last day of work tomorrow, and I'm resenting my mananger with her stupid rota - she had me on Mon-Thu, off today, and back Saturday, she's a definate weirdo. Gotta get my butt into gear, sooo much to do, but just want to lie on the sofa

smartie I think loads of people get pics like that, I'm sure I had one wth DD but I can not be bothered to dig out her photo album to check. I really hope this one poses nicely for the 20 week scan pics because everytime she took a pic at the 12 week one he wiggled and so he looked lovely and clear on the screen but the photos were a bit pants.
I've not much to do today, bit of washing up, putting washing away from yesterday and mop the floors, I should be done in 30 mins but I can not be bothered to get started.
CAFC I like nial. Mine have quite plain but nice (I think) names so I don't think I can be too outrageous with naming this one.0
