Rach show your boss this:

http://www.acas.org.uk/index.aspx?articleid=1753

Should I be allowed to take time off to go to antenatal classes? All pregnant employees are entitled to time off with pay to keep appointments for antenatal care made on the advice of a registered medical practitioner, midwife or health visitor. Antenatal care may include relaxation classes and parent-craft classes. Except for the first appointment, you must show your employer, if requested, a certificate from a registered medical practitioner, midwife or health visitor, confirming the pregnancy together with an appointment card or some other document showing that an appointment has been made.

Rach I think aquanatal and classes like that are classed as antenatal care LINKY migth be worth checking with your mw of HR dept. just to clarify:)

I know I'm allowed to take time off to attend classes like that but in al honesty, my conscience wouldn't allow me:o I'd end up feeling guilty during the whole class so kind of negates the whole relaxing aspect of the classes I'd attend:p

ETA: as for going back fulltime...I'm kinda hoping that paying for childcare wouldn't make it worth my while..I'd be happy with just 4days a week, preferably having friday off;) lol

freebiequennie, where did you get your tankini from, if you don't mind me asking? I'm tall too and have a nightmare finding stuff like this. The one I'm taking on holiday is a non-maternity Long Tall Sally one and won't fit much longer (just got to hope my bump doesn't "pop" before my holiday!), but I'd like to do more swimming over the summer.

Oops fuzz cross posted!!

I am very lucky in terms of my maternity pay so I will be able to take a year off if I wish and as have been in job for ages I get quite a bit of leave so I hope to finish beg August take 4 weeks annual leave, then go maternity leave in September. I intend to go back to work but I'm unsure yet whether this will be part time/compressed hours or full time see how I feel. Although as I live in London will probably have to look at nurseries soon as some have year long waiting lists!!

Then couldn't get back to sleep as kept getting a shooting pain in my left boob. Still keep getting it on and off now, sort of runs from just above the nipple and goes upwards. Has anyone else had this? Not sure if it's just growing pains (and boy have they grown lately!), or whether it's something to worry about.

I also get this. I lost my mum to breast cancer and automatically go into paranoid mode with anything to do with boobs but logically I'm sure it's nothing!

Prob is all the names I like seem to begin with a C or K and OH's surname begins with a K and I think it will be too much! The one boys name I love is Theo :) I am sure my family/ or friends will slate it though, but I will try get a few name books from the library and look for a 2nd and 3rd choice :) oh and some definate girls name just incase!

Hi KK, we like lots of M names but they all sound silly as OH's surname also starts with an M - its the law of *sod*!

We are definitely (for now - lol) Theo if we get a blue one and I dont think our families will like it either, to be frank though I dont care :rotfl::rotfl:

DH thinks I should go into business as I made all the bunting for our blessing decorating too. I love being creative but don't know if I would enjoy it so much if I HAD to do it IYSWIM :o

This is EXACTLY why my OH won't take up photography professionally - he is amazing at it but he thinks if it became his job there is chance he may hate it!!

Love the bunting btw :D

I went to college with half the midwifery students here... I wouldn't want to speak to most of them let alone trust them with delivering a baby! and I definitely do not want them looking up my nethers.. another reason to trek off to Leeds!

Another thing to bear in mind with in initials is what the Christian name initials spell with the full surname. In DH’s case, it spells out 2 words which say something not very pleasant. Unfortunately his parents didn’t have a lot of choice as they were going to give him his Grandad’s middle name as his middle name (old family name), but Grandad got the wrong end of the stick and though his first name was going to be DH’s middle name. DH’s folks didn’t have the heart to tell him otherwise so he got A as his middle initial instead of B. (And if anyone’s really bored and has me as a friend on FB, you should now be able to work out what the 2 words are!)

I spent 10 mins looking at kitkats FB profile trying to work this out and wondering if I was the thickest person in the world :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
so i dont know how long to tell them i want off? if i say i want the full 39wks leave then wish to go back earlier can i?

Yes, if you give them 8 weeks notice of your return date :D

tigtag.. yes LGI.. I had both the younger boys there and it was so much more humane than the nasty place here.

food fed.. I think I have sussed the route of my flopppiness... I am most probably anaemic.. though the bloods will be back next week so I'll know then.. not that it will make any difference because I can't take the iron tablets or liquid anyway.. spatone doesn't work before some suggests that ad diet makes no difference whatsoever.. I am fine within days of the birth usually.. after being told I don't want a transfusion then having them write 'refused transfusion' in my notes!!

small pinks are driving me insane squealing and arguing and being rude so have been put to bed even earlier than usual!
