Near the Dorset/hants border so shouldn't be as bad as going to the Devon end :rotfl:
We do have some useless GP's too. Like the one who told me to keep my coat on indoors when I went to ask him why I turned grey and my lips went blue when i had the heating on full pelt at homeMum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

fernliebee wrote: »neronero- I'm aneamic too, well was at last bloods, so I have been taking spatone. It is a bit weird but if you take it in juice you can't taste it. The reasons why it is better than the iron tablets is it is much easier for body to absorb so works much quicker, and also doesn't have the same side effects ie constipation. I felt the difference within a week! It is £6 for a months supply so not really cheap but even if you took it for 1 month to boost your levels might be worth the expense.
KK- aw bless ya! You will be a fantastic mummy, it wouldn't be normal if you didn't have the odd worry, but you will be fine!!! Money wise you will just cope because thats the way it is. I can honestly say that we spend less money since having DD. We did use washable nappies and breastfeed, but even if we had bought milk and nappies we would still be better off as we don't go out anywhere near as much, once they eat real food you are more inclined to cook proper dinners rather than waste money on takeaways all the time, and I never get the urge to buy myself treats I just want to get her stuff!Babies can be as cheap or as expensive as you make them.
I am feeling so tired and groggy today and bubs is getting so heavy now. I'm going to take DD to the outdoor pool today to keep cool, and also DH has just passed his driving test! Woo hoo!! SO I am feeling happy, just sleepy!
Thanks for that Fernlie, you've cheered me upI am planning on using disposables, but I will be shopping around and using vouchers as much as poss. I have found since 20 weeks I am more interested in buying stuff for the baby than myself, and I am sure it will continue like that! I have never been the type to splash out on expensive stuff for myself so at least I wont have to cut back too much there! I've always spoilt my OH but I am sure he will prefer me to think of the baby.

I work from home, so no chance of anyone piling my desk high with junk while my back's turned
However, after several months off, my email inbox will be another matter entirely...:rotfl:

No, it is usually converted to serum ferritin and stored in various bits of the body for when your diet isn't providing enough.
Hb tess of anaemia are not truly accurate either.. it is the serum ferritin they need to be checking.. more often than not taking iron has very little effect on the Hb level.
Make sure you are slurping vit C with the iron and avoiding caffeine/milk etc for about an hour either side of taking it as it is supposed to affect the absorbtion of the iron.
I am waiting in a most amused manner for the results of my FBC to come back.. I am usually 'borderline' anaemic anyway and by the time I am 6 months pregnant that is usually between 7-9.. I ended up between 5-7 by the birth of most of these.. and within a few days it was back to my normal due to be having decent iron stores in the body.. I was just being ineffective at making the Hb.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
