Hi all, after a bit of midwife advice..............

I first saw mine at 6 weeks, then I tired to make my 16 week appt when I was 13 weeks, could not fit me in til I was 17 weeks, somewhere along the line I thought it was today, apparently it was yesterday, just phoned surgery and she now cannot see me til I am nearly 21 weeks.

My only concern with this is that I am overweight (was before pregnant) and had high BP with DD 7 years ago.I was also regularly checked for gestational diabetes. I am drinking more and having nosebleeds, which I now know can be totally normal, but I just wanted a quick wee/BP check, and am wondering if another 3 weeks is a problem? Should I try to make a nurse appt in the meantime, or do I just sound like a paranoid preggers woman :rotfl::rotfl:

Loads of you ladies suffering with heartburn, hope you've got something that works. I know with my indigestion I shouldn't be eating half of the stuff I do but still do anyway!! Just had an unhealthy brekkie and now I have indigestion (doh!)

Having pants nights sleep at the mo, go to bed feeling exhausted but can't sleep then bubs starts moving so keeps me awake longer and then usually wake up about 6. Was going to be having a week off starting on the 14 but thinking may change this to have shorter weeks as I'm finding things a struggle at the mo (the whole getting up etc). What do ladies think is better to recharge the batteries a whole week off or shorter weeks can't decide??

Rach coffee sounds good would be nice to put a picture to the name. Will PM you or can me re details/availability, although seem to have a busy time coming up at the mo but I'm sure there will be a free day between us !!

Forgot to say yesterday welcome to Merfe and love the bump fuzz, wish I had a proper bump - may get DH to do a shot later and post it.

Hi emsy I would personally go to the GP - maybe one that does antenatal appoinments (ask your receptionist) and they should be able to check your wee, BP, even listen to bubs. At my practice there are about 8 docs but only a couple would give me a thorough exam, one is very good and would always check wee/BP even if I'm coming in complaining about my indigestion.

emsy- i would get a doctors app as well, when i first went to midwife she gave me a card to give to dr if i went to them for any reason, did you get this? as you think its diabetes or bp, dr's deal with that normally so they should be able to help!

is anyone really fed up with work? its roasting when i go in, so drink lots then pee all day, they also give me really crappy lunch times, so im eating at stupid times which then makes my heartburn worse, tried speaking to manager but HE says nothing can do, get the feeling he just doesnt understand! he even said but it says in the procedures that pregnancy is not an illness! should get himt to listen to what some of you guys are going through and he might change his mind! had to go to union eventually about risk assessment so dont want to seem like a moaner and bother them again.

    Hope everyone is feeling well

    I'm having a crappy day

DS (who's birthday party was all organised for Saturday ) has chicken pox, hard to see him suffering so much
Dropped my phone and cracked the screen ( wouldn't be too much of a problem but I can't get in touch with the other mums, and I've been a ninny and stored my contacts to phone and not sim so I'm going to lose a pile of numbers )
    Dishwasher still misbehaving
BH has kicked off today, quite uncomfortable

    I'm ready for the hills

Sorry your having sucha sh*t day. I had BH all day yesterday and it was driving me mad, think the baby was curious what was going on as it kept kicking me at the same time! I told OH I 'couldn't take anymore' and he just told me to stop moaning! I really wish being pregnant affected men too!

Salesshopper; i have the same thing with heartburn/ reflux. I spend most nights rushing to the bathroom from choking so much I make myself sick, its horrible as it burns all your throat and I am sure it is the reason my teeth have been playing up (all the acid). One thing that has actually helped me is drinking milk, i have had a glass before bed for the past 2 nights and so far I havent had heartburn in bed (could just be coincidence). Doesnt mean I am sleeping any better though!!! Just cant get comfy, and whatever side I lay on last night, baby kept kicking/poking/prodding everything possible.

Tigtag; I had the same email from blooming marvelous, I was so dissappointed as I was looking forward to getting those! Nevermind!

Started having the usual panic last night about money, and whether I am going to cope as a mum. I just do worry, what if I am not upto it?

Emsy I'd second going to the GP.

We've got a lovely one here who was really reassuring when the monsters all had slapped cheek and the midwife told me not to go to the clinic in case I was carrying it. I had a horrible tummy bug and couldn't feel any movement for a whole day (poor little monster probably scared stiff by all the noise!) and he said never be afraid to come in, if he could be pregnant he'd be a complete nervous wreck and in the surgery every 5 minutes and he doesn't know how women do it :rotfl:

GD is not something to muck about with, a GP can order blood tests just as well as a midwife!

Well it's hot again here. I've had a shower and straightened my hair so not feeling like such a scruff today :o

LOL I don't suppose your GP was anywhere near Kent *hopeful face* :D

Nursey is squeezing me in later this morning, so at least it will set my mind at rest (finders crossed!)

neronero- I'm aneamic too, well was at last bloods, so I have been taking spatone. It is a bit weird but if you take it in juice you can't taste it. The reasons why it is better than the iron tablets is it is much easier for body to absorb so works much quicker, and also doesn't have the same side effects ie constipation. I felt the difference within a week! It is £6 for a months supply so not really cheap but even if you took it for 1 month to boost your levels might be worth the expense.

KK- aw bless ya! You will be a fantastic mummy, it wouldn't be normal if you didn't have the odd worry, but you will be fine!!! Money wise you will just cope because thats the way it is. I can honestly say that we spend less money since having DD. We did use washable nappies and breastfeed, but even if we had bought milk and nappies we would still be better off as we don't go out anywhere near as much, once they eat real food you are more inclined to cook proper dinners rather than waste money on takeaways all the time, and I never get the urge to buy myself treats I just want to get her stuff! :D Babies can be as cheap or as expensive as you make them.

I am feeling so tired and groggy today and bubs is getting so heavy now. I'm going to take DD to the outdoor pool today to keep cool, and also DH has just passed his driving test! Woo hoo!! SO I am feeling happy, just sleepy!

Thank you ever so much for all your kind words, it really has helped me to feel betta knowing that maybe its normal and has happened to others too. Dh and i had a chat on monday, he came from work with a cake for me (which didnt help with the feeling fat thing) but it meant he had been thinkin about me and how sad i was and wanted to try and cheer me up :)
He doesnt truely understand how this is for me but like wise as someone said i dont for him, its a roller coaster for us both and leaving wouldnt of helped. so i didnt and im glad i didnt. The past few days have been betta, we havent niggled at each other, maybe the sex will come back if we are happier with each other. I know he loves me and is looking forward to this baby as much as me so we both have to try and understand a little betta.
As someone else said about being busy at work, i was use to working all different hours as a paramedic and now m stuck in an office 9-5 due to Health & Safety so thats a shock to the system too. I have an app with MW next wed so will chat to her too, but thanx girls u really helped :) x
