the pink name is . . . fern (prepares for the lynch mob!) what you all think?

I really love that!! I might have to steal it. I want a name that people will be able to spell and have heard of, but one that there won't be 10 children in the school called the same thing. So I've looked at the top 10 names over the last 5 years and ruled them all out.

My DH has vetoed my favourite boys name, so it is out. Rowan. I really love it, but he has said over his dead body!!

I've had really sore swollen knuckles when I wake up for the last 2 days. Does anyone know if this is normal?

Would someone mind adding me to the EDD list? 14 November. I plan on joining team yellow.

Won't tell anyone the name until bubs is here as can't be bothered with judgements.

KitKat I like it warm not too hot as just get feeling dizzy and won't sleep (please, please no record hot summers)
we're not discussing with anyone either! we have a possible girls name but no boys names.

I agree, no record summers...no no no

We have (well I have) got a girls name sorted but struggling with a boys. Not going to tell anyone what we choose as everyone has an opinion. When we told family what we had chosen for ds no-one liked it but they got use to it :p
We have so many friends/family pg at the moment - just hope nobody uses our names.
I wanted Joseph for a boy (after my grandad) and DH would have been persuaded, then his sister had her little boy last week and called him Joseph! I wouldn't care, we used to love Emily and they called their little girl Amelie!!! great minds think alike!

Brazilian: it's good to have someone with similar opinions! I am thinking of giving the baby a double barrell name as OHs name is kinda unusual and my name is more everyday and as me and my sis are the last generation with our family name I wana carry it on, if me and OH get married I would prolly have a double barrell name too, just to nark his family!

Tigtag: Theo is our choice for boys name too, OH wanted Theodore but I prefer Theo. He hates all my girls names! I have been calling my bump Theo for about 2 months now, I would laugh so much if we have a girl as I've only got a 'feeling' it's a boy!

Had a BBQ tonight and it was fab :)

Tescos have got 3 for 2 on baby clothes at the mo, I picked up some hats and socks as I haven't got many.

I'm not usually a fan of shortening names, yes as nicknames but I would normally argue if you wanna call him Joe then make it Joseph and refer to him as Joe (IYSWIM)

However, as much as I love Theo I cannot bring myself to like Theodore - lol

hi ladies i have been quite the lurker on this thread, havent contributed much as im never at home to get on the laptop.

im currently 22 wks pregnant with my first baby, had my big scan last week, and im on team blue :j

just had a browse over the past few pages RE names im feeling the dilemma myself at the moment. i had LOTS of beautiful girls names written down, and NO boys names. the only one i like is Noah which my OH hates as he thinks it sounds gay?? so we are having a slight disagreement on that front :( getting a bit sick of trying to pick a name so might just wing it and see when the baby is born what i like.

anyone started taking their iron tablets yet? how are you all finding them? i got mine at 18 wks and i took them for one week and then stopped as i was SO constipated it was horrible. doctor has told me i need to take them but i really really dont want to. does anyone know if its necessary to take them at this stage? or have any of you ladies got any alternatives?

hope you are all keeping well and your bumps are behaving themselves :D x

edit to add i LOVE the name Fern its beautiful.

they gave me the pescription for them at my 18wk midwife appointment. i phoned the doc after about a week of taking them as i was so constipated and in terrible pain from it. he said i needed to take them but to try and try one every other day instead. but i just stopped taking them as they were playing havoc with my bowel movements (sorry if TMI) but as im getting further along i was wondering how necessary they were.

have u never been given them then tigtag or have they not even been mentioned to u?

The only time I have ever had iron tablets is after I had DD1 because I was slightly anaemic.

Are you sure that you have been given these as a 'matter of course' rather than a personal reason?
