I am fed up of everyone (people i know but mainly who i dont know) telling me how small my bump is.

I feel like i am doing something wrong...but i know that if my midwife was concerned she would of followed it up.

I cant be that small anyway as yesterday at the pre op assessment for my finger i got weighed and was told i was obese!!!! I did feel like telling the nurse i wasnt before i became pregnant. Good job i didnt take it to heart as i can imagine some women would have been very upset by that comment

    xx

Right, since my last post.. about Tues I think? have been having BH pretty much non stop and I am now feeling uncomfortable and very tired. :( Im sorry that Ive not been able to catch up on what people have written, just come on to have a moan at how effin painful some of them are, especially in lower stomach- like extreme period pains. :(:( Just want this to be over now! Had a runny tummy to (sorry, TMI) and this boiling weather isnt helping.

At the moment I cant even walk upstairs without my stomach tightening up to the point where I can barely move! !!

    OOOOUUUUUCHHHHHH!!!

Thankyou very much for your help. Would i have to stay in bed all the way through the labour or would they monitor for a while and then let me out and then monitor. I wouldn't want to be induced. I am thinking about a vbac as i thought it would be nice to be able to deliver myself, also i thought that maybe it be less trauma on my body and for baby.

I think that if i had to stay in bed all the way through delivery, then i would go for c section.
Hi love yes as far as i aware you would be constantly monitored, i certainly was, so would have to stay on bed, however, i could be wrong worth checking with the midwife.
As i said they shouldn't even think about inducing you during a v-bac as it causes such strong, quick contractions you are more likely to suffer a ruptured womb.
I think you may be underestimating the trauma that a natural birth can inflict on your body, not always but certainly sometimes, my sister seemed in a lot more pain and discomfort for a lot longer after her 'natural' birth as i did with my c-section.
Also recovery time generally reduces with each c-section.
When i had my second i was up and about after a few hours without the need for any painkillers.

At the end of the day it always comes down to your choice, after being very disappointed not having delivered naturally with the first i convinced myself i would be more of a mum if i delivered naturally.

Of course thats rubbish, is a c-section much different to the woman who has an epidural and feels nothing during the birth or a woman who has a forceps delivery?

Why should a successful birth be judged on pain or effort? A successful birth is a healthy baby and a happy mum.

I think there is too much running down of c-sections, we are constantly told there are TOO many c-sections, that women who have an elective are somehow too posh to push which go toward perpetuating the myth that 'real' mums push babies out.

    Sorry for the rant lol!!!!:eek::D

Hmmm don't want to worry you but it does sound as though labour could be imminent.
You often get a runny tummy just before, it's the bodies way of getting you ready for the birth and helping you not poo during the birth.
Also if you have had a runny tummy for a while it can cause the womb to contract.
Thats why women take caster oil if overdue, to give themselves the runs cos it can bring it on.:D

Well i feel almost human again now ive showered, shaved, faked tanned and whitened my teeth :-D

I cant believe how some people are reacting when you tell them what you are having how insensitive can they be. As SW said any child is a gift and should be loved no matter what!

Pukka mom of course you are no more a mom for having pushed baby out i think the to posh to push comes from the super stars who pay for their C Section as they cant be assed to push a baby out incase they break a sweat or have a hair out of place for the cameras which is completely different to a woman who chooses a c section after a previously traumatic experience or problem birth. Medical risks have to be taken into account.

I have birthed all mine naturally but i am really worried this time as i have been told babs is breech she still has a while to turn but the thought of a c section frightens me to death so i am hopeing even with the breech i can still do it but if not then it will have to be a c sec. Its nothing to do with wanting to feel like a proper mom im just frightened to death of operations and how i will cope after :-(

Michelle labour vibes if you want them chick i hope it quick and easy once you get going :-)

    tigtag both are lovely.

I told DH it's traditional to buy an eternity ring when a baby comes but he said 'you can forget that idea'!! To be honest I like my wedding and engagement rings (eng ring is 3 square diamonds in a line on platinum and I still LOVE it more than any other ring i've seen) and I'm not sure I want another. I also have my mum's wedding and eng rings from marriage to my dad, white gold with 4 diamonds & 4 sapphires....might get that remade at some point.

I do agree lolly that yes there are women who have elective c-sections because they don't want to push a baby out, but why is that so awful, you say you are terrified of a c-section, well there are a lot of women scared of natural birth.

Is it really so wrong to opt for a different type of birth?
The fear i had of c-sections, which comes from being bombarded with 'too posh to push' stories and the complete lack of ante-natal info about c-sections ruined my first birth.
I was so upset to be going for a c-section that i was virtually hysterical when they were attempting the epidural making it impossible for them to do it so i had to have a general.

My second couldn't have been more different, it was again an emergency c-section but this time as i had prepared myself for the possibility, i was completely calm. they did the epidural really easily, the lights were low, everyone was chatting and talking to me, talking me through each stage.
There was a moment of worry as she had to be resuscitated due to the cord being around her neck but yet again i was constantly reassured and nobody panicked.

The point i am trying to make without pregnant woman ranting lol is that it is time c-sections stopped being vilified and came out into the open as something that happens to a lot of women and is just another birthing experience.
Oh and i was up and about within 3 hrs virtually no pain and feeling great!!!
