i want that kind of labour please.......
i'll be good all year xxWealth is not measured by currency0 -
Thankyou very much for your help. Would i have to stay in bed all the way through the labour or would they monitor for a while and then let me out and then monitor. I wouldn't want to be induced. I am thinking about a vbac as i thought it would be nice to be able to deliver myself, also i thought that maybe it be less trauma on my body and for baby.
I think that if i had to stay in bed all the way through delivery, then i would go for c section.Hi moneysaver
I went for a vbac lasttime ( i had had a previous c-section) however, it didn't happen (i began to bleed ) and i ended up with another c-section.
If going for v-bac there are a few rules,
they will not induce you (you must go into spontaneous labour)
they will not allow you to labour for too long (not sure how long is too long but i am assuming over 8 hrs) and will want you in hosp pretty much as soon as you start having contractions.
You will not be allowed a water birth as you will be monitored constantly so must stay on the bed (this is so they will have an early indication of any problems).
I really wanted a v-bac last time as my first c-section was very traumatic, but as it turned out it was very lovely and a wonderful experience, i am going straight to c-section this time, have had two disappointing labours which ended in c-sections so think i have 'done my bit'.
Can i ask what your motives are in wanting a v-bac (not being nasty just interested if same as mine).Married 09/09/090 -
That's why I choose home births. My first labour was 4 hours and they all halved each time. Don't let it put you off having more children though as if you wished you could be induced so your in a hospital enviroment. Not sure on what they do in France but it could be an option
Well done and what a nice delivery story:)
They don't really like home births over in France as after you have had your baby, you have to stay in hospital for five days whether it is your first baby or your fourth baby. Besides I prefer to be in a hospital just in case anything goes wrong as we live in quite a remote place and it is miles to the nearest hospital! Added to that the firemen over here double up as the ambulance service and in our village, all firemen are volunteers. I know a few of them as they are dads of children at the school my kids go to. Knowing my luck, I would get one or two of the dads on any callout I made and they would end up delivering my baby and I would never be able to face them again at the school! So definitely the last baby! I think four kids is enough for me to cope with now!DD1 born May 2002, DD2 born Dec 2005, DS born Dec 2008. Baby due May 2010! TEAM PINK!!

Congrats Rachel. I was a bit upset by my mums reaction yesterday when i texted her to say we were having a boy. I saw her last week and she said that she hoped i was having a girl as her and my niece (my niece is only 4) didn't want a boy. I told her that i thought we were having a boy. When i texted her yesterday, she replied send it back, send it back, then put im only joking and that she was a proud grandma. But she has said it on more than one occasion since we told her i was pregnant that she wanted us to have a girl.
When i had my other children with my i had two boys and a girl, she never really bothered with any of them and only saw my daughter once before my children went away. I knew that as soon as my brother had children that she would be all over them, he has two girls. She is all over my nieces in that she goes and sees them every week and gets them stuff etc, but hardly takes them out. Me and my dh have our nieces one day every weekend. Im not close to my mum and at times think that she really does care about me, then she does or says something that makes me feel that she doesn't care that much.
My brother and sister are her faves and always have been. Me and my dh are very excited about having our little boy. Everyone else has been pleased for us and my dh mum was pleased for us. I feel closer to my dh mum than mine own, its a shame that we live nearly 200 miles from dh mum.Married 09/09/090 -
Moneysaver - Im sure people don't mean what they say but i wish that they would think how hurtful their comments are before speaking.
A child is a gift regardless of it being male or female
Someone once said to me "Four boys how awful". I was too shocked too comment0 -
Evening all!!!
Hope we are all well and enjoying the sunshine
Cafc....you are sooooo more prepared than i am. I still havent packed my bag yet! Keep saying i should do it but never get round to it....am i in denial????? Am going to do a baby wash load tomorrow for the few bits of clothes i have.
On the nappy debate, we are going to use reusable...well we are going to try anyway. I have got a birth to potty kit for £97 so am not going to beat myself up if we cant get on with them. But am thinking positive thoughts that we will be fine with them
