maybe they have changed it, DS is 4 years old now hehe. Also the fact they can do it at the local hospital in the blood place now is better. Sorry for being noisy just wondered because the midwife didnt even know about the 16 week test, I had to tell her, I only knew because of when I booked in in Oct.
With my first my bmi wasnt over 30 and I have no family history so it was a bit of a shock and I didnt need a GTT because the blood sugars were so high they just stuck me straight on the insulin. Not looking forward to that again.
MERFE - we talk about CM in here for pity's sake (:p) you can be as noisy as you want about my tests
Can tell you all about the swab I had too if you want :rotfl::rotfl::heartpuls baby no3 due 16th November :heartpulsTEAM YELLOWDFD 16/6/10"Shut your gob! Or I'll come round your houses and stamp on all your toys" The ONE, the ONLY, the LEGENDARY Gene Hunt :heart2:0 -
hello girls, boys and bumps - help needed!
OK, so I'm 35 weeks tomorrow and I've now realised that really, I must get a hospital bag packed! I have no idea whether I'll be going into labour in 5ish weeks or whether I'll be hauled in for a section in three (breech baby, waiting to find out if he turned or not yet - really can't figure it out myself anymore!) so kind of planning for every eventuality at the moment.
If I list the contents/planned contents of my bag, can anyone see anything I'm missing/really won't need? Also quantities of things - if anything looks under/over estimated, it'd be much appreciated if you could say.Baby
Sleepsuits (5) how many do people reccommend? I currently have 3 newborn (up to 10lbs) and 2 0-3m size)
Vests (5) As sleepsuits
Blanket (1)
scratch mitts (1)
hat (1) yet to buy as I realised I don't have any really little ones!
Pack of newborn nappies (27) / change mat / wipes (I can't stand cotton wool - bit of a phobia!) / trial pot sudocrem
3 muslin cloths
1 face cloth
Something for baby to wear home (mum buying)Me
Notes
Nightie for labour/immediately post section (1)
Light dressing gown (1)
Slippers (1 pair)
Socks
breast feeding jammies with roll over waist (thinking of possible stitches) (1 bottom 2 tops)
nursing bras (yet to buy)
clothes to come home in (likely trackies or similar)
Big underwear (yet to buy - will make a trip to m&s for granny pants through this week!)
2 packs maternity towels & disposal bags
15 pairs breast pads
hairbrush and bobbles
Toiletries and bag (shampoo, conditioner, simple shower gel, sponge, toothbrush/toothpaste, cleansing wipes, face wash, deoderant)
Towels (1 big, 1 small)
cooling spray
Baby oil for back rubs if needed
snacks/drinks et al will be bought next time I go to the supermarket - thinking breakfast bars/dried fruit/juice
I'm so sure I'm missing something, but at the same time, it looks like I'm packing for a month! We live near the hospital but OH doesn't drive so trying to avoid too many trips back to get anything in case I'm kept in a bit longer for any reason.
Thanks in advance for any/all help!
Still can't believe she's going be a real mum in just a few weeks!0 -
Hello all!
Congrats on team blue sir monster!
Smartie - that sounds like a nightmare so sorry you couldnt get a picture! luckily you feel movements a lot e.c.t so thats only a good sign ! Bit shocked you cant have more scans although i suppose that means their not worried which is good.
About pat leave e.c.t the guidelines are just that really i think it depends in the work, my OH work knew about the pregnancy (its my old place of work too) and they werent really fussed, i got matb1 at 29 weeks and he took it in and they sent it straight off to HO. At the end of the day they can just ring HO and check its no hassle but i suppose it depends on whether they are @rses or not! and he has his provisional day of leave as my due date but can change it whenever and basically either just go as soon as baby arrives or like last time when i was told i would be induced on a certain date he just said thats when he was going and all was fine.
Hes having 2 weeks hol after the pat leave so i get help for 4 weeks which im really happy about.
Oh and about baby show, this is just personal opinion but i went last year and thought it was !!!!! queues to get in for ages cost a fortune in parking and was packed out could barely move! you get loads of freebies but they are generally bags full of rubbish and loads of leaflets! it might be worth it if theres a lot of baby stuff you are planning on buying but even still there arw so many people its near impossible to get in the stalls or try anything properly and tbh you can prob get everything cheaper elsewhere if you know where to look!!0 -
Kitkat i'm looking into hypno birthing. Just trying to weigh up whether to do the course or just get the book. Have you started it yet - if so how are you finding it? I have an irritional fear of giving birth  and I thought it might help. OH thinks its all pyscho-babble but said he'll pay if i think I need it!0

this is ace - AND I WANNA FEEL MY BEAN
(hmmm, does that sound rude )
hugs smartie - sorry you didnt get what you wanted
what do they mean by 'had too many'? is this because of NHS 'allowence' or is it not good for the bean?
It's because they don't really know if having lots of scans affects baby and don't like to do go over a certain amount just incase (and no doubt I've used up my quota of NHS ones;))
Yay for team blue Sir Monster:)
EDIT: Oh and I'm doing hypnobirthingBLOWINGBUBBLES:kisses2: SMARTIE120 -
Esio - i think your list sounds pretty perfect tbh! all i would say is 5 vests and sleepsuits is good thats what im packing i was in for a week with DS and only took a couple and kept having to send OH home for more cos went through loads so wish i had just took loads in the first place! wouldnt bother with change matt unless its a travel one part of bag your taking. I would pack more pjs for you though i kept changing all the time cos baby was sick on me after every feed so would of been a nightmare if in the middle of night it happened and i had no spares! but if you are having section dont be afraid to take loads you could be there ages and you can just send dirty stuff home with partner, i may be having section and thats what i plan on doing, he could bring me stuff but hes so forgetfull i would rather just take everthing!!0

Evening ladies
Well, I went to see a chiropractor this morning to help my SPD - twas amaaaaazing!!!! Loads of bone cracking and general ragging about - he even got a hammer and what looked like a staple gun out at one point!:T I feel sooooooo much better now, the best £50 I've ever ever spent. I'm still uncomfortable but no longer in real pain, he even massaged the baby at one point and s/he started wriggling away :A Next appointment is Friday, can't wait. I'm even thinking I might be able to get back to work after half term - believe it or not I'm not ready for ML just yet!
Right from what I can remember:
Smartie - sorry bubs wasn't playing again and I agree about team yellow clothes. Next do some nice babygros though. I'm getting such strong girl vibes from Munchkin I'm considering buying a couple of dresses and keeping the receipts
Laura (?, sorry). Many many congrats on your BFP, may your pregnancy be joyous and healthy
Kitkat, my Munchkin does that shaking thing too. Weird isn't it
Sir Monster, congrats on team blue
