Kitkat and cafc dont be nervous about the pushchair the average pushchair will fit in most places and its only other ignorant people that normally make it awkward in which case you just ram them they tend to get out of the way then ;-)

Choccy All the best for tomorrow Loads of Quick and easy Labour vibes for you :-) xx

xmas - that bought a tear to my eye. Am so sorry for your loss, but it sounds like she gave you a lot of love and compassion, something which im sure gets passed on to your babies, so in a way, they've known each other through you xx

kitkat - argh im like that too! I get really annoyed in aisles when I have to say excuse me to people and they kinda just sway and then return to the same position, yeah because that helps me!

Owning a pug is like nothing i've ever known! LOL He's still going through his re-settling period, and for a young dog/pup he's been through a lot, but he's getting there. He has such human facial expressions, and such a personality. And he's really clever as well, like we show him something once, and he gets it... well the fun stuff. So far he refuses to "acknowledge" the term No LOL although I know he knows full well what it means :)
He's great preparation for a toddler in many ways xx

ooh how strange if I view this forum on my ipod touch it displays kool little pictures next to peoples names, however on my laptop there is no picture... strange!!

Well MIL came over this afternoon to kill any happiness between me and OH, lol. She moaned about how we had set out the living room (as I got rid of a sideboard and have got a ottoman style coffee table instead) oh how she moaned saying we would never fit a baby and all the baby things in here! We showed her the baby room (I didnt want to but OH did) and she said she hated my cot (i love it!) she said my white canopy was a terrible colour to show dirt (it was from ikea, i wanted it white, plus it has multicolored spots on it!!) the room is apparently set out wrong, my changing matt is too small (erm... standard changing matt size...!) and she moaned I didnt have enough sleepsuits (baby is due in August so I have half sleepsuits/ half baby grows for newborn/ 0-3 incase its hot (I can always buy more sleepsuits at the time!), she told me the best place for my monitor was in the bin as she never needed one, she moaned about the toys we have, she moaned about my sleeping bags saying they were unecessary, and said that i do not need bedding sets, i just need a plastic sheet and a cotton sheet and apparently some type of sheet to tie the baby's hands?!? oh my god this seems like a type of cruelty!! WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS WOMAN!!! Anyway I am not letting her get to me, I love everything I have got, and so does OH, I know he is just excited and wanted his mum to be part of this but obviously she's too bitter and twisted to even make a nice comment about anything!! Grrrrr!

I hate it when people think they can just come out with negative comments and that you'll just take it on the chin. I mean its fair enough to point out other possibilities available but really its about what you and your OH want....

I think she is very behind with the times! I almost feel like she is jealous of me? I dont know why.. but its like as though as OH is supporting me and we are happy and not letting things get us down she doesnt like it. She gave OH a big lecture about how after the birth I will need maternity towels and went v into details, the poor bloke looked terrified, I have tried not to horrify him, I am hoping to spend the rest of my life with him dont want him feeling weird about me!!! I know whats going to happen isnt all going to be pretty (!) but I would rather tell him bit by bit!!

She also moaned about my cot bumper, but I think they really finish off the cot! My cot is against the bathroom wall, not external and not by the radiator so I think theres nothing wrong with it! The room is tiny theres not much to play with anyway! Lol to unisex clothes fairies :) I did tell her I have 3 months to go so I havent bought everything yet!!

I dont understand her negative comments, Im having her first grandchild here! And probably only grandchild at that!!! She should know better than to stress out a pregnant lady! Hopefully she wont visit much when the baby is born as she doesnt drive so relys on lifts!

Sorry to moan everyone, it feels good to vent my feelings on here, as I dont like to go on at OH as he has had a lifetime of her! My only consulation is that she preaches how she knows all (after having 4 kids) but OH tells me he had a terrible childhood, never had many toys or much fun at all by the sound of it, she prefered to spend all her money on cigarettes/ drink rather than her kids, think this is why me and him act like such big kids together!
