Smartie, it's not being controversial, like Fernle said, it's your perogative. Our stuff so far is about 50/50 new to old. Even though we have a ton of charity shops in town, they're a bit carp (and quite dear), but I've got some great little clothes from ebay and boot sales. I'm waiting until bubs makes its appearance now to get more though, cos I don't know how big/small it's going to be.
Has anyone who plans on being a fluffy bum mum (or is/was) encoutered just complete shock, horror and disgust when they say they're using reusables? I had expected some comments, but just the fact people are expecting me to fail is annoying. OH has kind of come round to the idea, and I'm looking for the simplest designs to make it (hopefully) easier for both of us, but at the end of the day, it's me doing the laundry not them, so what does it matter?

I'm planning on being a fluffy bum dad! we've got some disposables for when its not practical or for emergencies but we plan on using reusables.MFW - <£90kAll other debts cleared thanks to the knowledge gained from this wonderful website and its users!0 -
Bufger, yeah, we've got disposables for when bubs first comes home and we're in shell shock from it all (plus meconium can stain your fluff) It's just something that feels 'right', such a cliche I know, but whatever! Plus, we don't have proper bins here, and the very lovely seagulls attack bin bags, and I really don't want a yard full of half eaten pooey nappies.

bexta- yes some people are very closed minded to the idea, especially when I say that some of ours were from usednappy.com or passed on from friends
he he.
I just ignore them and let them get on with it though don't feel like you have to justify your decisions to ANYone!!
ETA: As a first time mum you seem to get everyone telling you "oh you'll soon change your mind on that" etc. I just ignored it as I know myself and know what I'm prepared to be flexible on. Some small stuff changed but on the whole the things I strongly believed in and the majority of things I planned I did, and do with my DD. I think some people just love being negative!0 -

I'm back in bed atm. I got up with DD at 7 then when DH got up at 9.30 I left him to it and got back in bed and have been on the laptop and cat napping. Weather is yuck, I'm shattered and have no pressing jobs to do, so I figure make the most of it. DD is going down for her nap in a min as well so gives me a few hours before I have to be ready0

weather here isnt too bad, well its dry at least!
All Ive managed to do is get downstairs, let the dog out, and switch on the lappy...... and got half dressed. Got DH's decorating jogging bottoms on, and a vest top, which currently sits just under my boobs and comes nowhere close to covering my bump..... just as well im not leaving the house, I look worse than Vicki Pollard!Wealth is not measured by currency0 -

ok real pregnancy question....
Ive got really bad leg cramps in one leg today, but ive had them in both legs for about 4-5 days, was telling a friend of mine via msn, and she asked me if i was breathless as well, so i said a bit but thats just because baby is so huge, and pushing everything upwards....
She said it could be a sign of something negative but couldnt tell me what (?!) anyone got any ideas?
All she said was she cant remember the name of it, but her sister was suspected of having it when she had the same symptoms...Wealth is not measured by currency0
