Evening all (just)
Smartie hope things calm down re bleeding and bubs starts moving. My m/w told me at booking to go to labour ward after 20 weeks.
CAFC hope you get a better m/w but could always complain to manager or PCT.
Rach it can be 'normal' not to feel until 18 to 20 weeks. I'm 19 weeks and only really started feeling slight kicks (like bubbles going off inside) this week and only in a certain position, usually lying on back with hand on belly. I must admit felt a lot of bubbling today and had hand on belly sitting watching tv and was a stronger movement (pressure must have helped).
I am shattered too have been up since 6:30 been helping out at a seminar (basically putting diff PowerPoints on) but has been a long day and only had 20 mins for lunch, luckily get flexi so will have a short day 2morrow. Also my 'baby on board' badge worked today, some man (yes I know I had a go the males the other day!) asked if I was pregnant and offered me a seat cos to me honest I don't look preggers yet in regular clothes - maybe I should wear a catsuit :rotfl:
Someone mentioned KitKat (I think) that their jeans didn't fit from bloomin marvellous, well my size 12s were too small but 14s ok but could get tight towards end. Could do a swap with your 16s with my 12s if you want? Mine are short leg though . . .PM me if you want as seems pointless sending them back for £3!Thomas born 28/08/2010 weighing 5lbs and 4ounces, small but perfectly formed :j:j Now weighs 19lbs and 5 ounces

hey all
I dont think she meant to hurt me.... at least i hope not!
Was laying on the bed for her to have a feel of babys position, and she gave my belly a bit of a poke and said it was "rock solid so we'll wait a minute for him to calm down"
Anyway so she does heartbeat, doesnt bother measuring him with the tape, but yet marks on my chart in my notes (quite how she managed that is beyond me)
Comes back to have a feel of him and she just went to town, ive never known any midwife be so full on pressure wise. I know theyve got to have a good feel about, to feel what part of baby is where etc but I came out and just felt rough as hell. I feel really bruised... thats probably the best way i cam describe it....she was digging the base of her palm in, her fingers, ive even got scratch marks now which i cant say for sure were from her fingers coz it might have been me as i have a really itchy belly button but still....
Of course during baby kept going mental with being shoved about and she sighed about him moving! WENCH!
I've never felt so processed in my life.....
Next appt is 36 weeks so im going to request to not see her....and im really hoping i can get it on a day when DH can come with me because now im scared.....
Sorry for the moan. I had to go to bed after my posting earlier, and just lay, and i still dont feel much better.....Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
Cafc she sounds like a right heavy handed cow. Was she an older midwife by anychance they tend to be a little less gentle i've found. I would ask for another midwife if she made you feel uncomfortable its the last thing you need being scared to go and see her. Hope you feel better soon :-):jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0

i would say shes probs mid 40's maybe.....
i know it probably doesnt sound like much written out, but for my husband to ask me as soon as we got out of the door if im ok because she looked like she was being "quite rough with you and my baby" shows in my mind it wasnt just my interpretation.....Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
CAFC - sorry you had such a rough time at your appointment, you should definitely avoid her in future.
Smartie - sorry your bean keeps hiding at your scans, i'd be so frustrated! My mw told me if I can't get hold of her to try the labour ward number which I have done before. My baby went quiet on saturday and i started to worry but made up for it on sunday!
I'm having my first and am avoiding thinking about labour at the moment but I know i'll have to get to grips with it all at some point! As for being a mum, when i seriously think about it i wonder what i'm doing being pregnant was it a mad thing to do?! Butr i'm very broody today, i blame Gill's gorgeous pics following straight after my scan:D
OH has 2 DDs who are 15 and 13 and they couldn't be more excited about the baby so i have no worries there, we involve them in it all so they don't feel left out. In fact yesterday after finding out the flavour they went blue clothes shopping with OH!
As for food Pigpen's views make total sense - i have never had a problem in my life with a runny egg - but madly i still try to cook them fully! Though I like it best when they haven't cooked fully and are still runny:D Fortunately I'm not at all bothered by the thought of alcohol so that isn't an issue for me.0 -
CAFC, she sounds like a brute, I hope you and L are ok.
Esio, the four people I know who've moved house near their due date have all gone within the two days after moving in!
Rach, it was only when I had the 20 week scan that I properly recognised what I had been feeling were bubs movements. Seeing bubs squiggling about on screen (being camera shy and running away from sonographer), and feeling things at the same time made me realise that's what it was.
Got on the bus home from having my anti D at the hospital, and the entire bus of elderly people glared at me! I have no idea why, I wasn't doing anything except going home, but the looks I got. Weirdos (although maybe it was the Misfits shirt I was wearing - sorry I don't do cute floral maternity smocks)

My sil has gone to the hospital tonight she hasnt felt baby all afternoon so is going to get checked out she has 12 days left to go but always goes a bit early nine days with the last two so i think its just baby slowing down and getting ready to come out we are waiting to hear at the moment.
ive just found out they have remade a nightmare on elm street i hope they havent completely ruined it i love the original and have them all on dvd even the crappy last few.
Looks like i have done my back in again, well i say i have done it in im not sure if its just baby laying on something she shouldnt as it keeps coming and going for no particular reason.
Right im off to bed to be hypnotised for a while i still keep falling asleep whilst listening to my discs but it must help a bit as i have felt a lot better since using them :-) x:jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0 -
