I am very scared about being a mum too, none of my close friends have babies, there are no young children in my family, I have never babysat a child, and I am just so scared! So I am distracting myself by looking for lovely baby bargains
I have never taken any notice of what you should/shouldn't eat.. I think having spent several months feeling crappy we are allowed to eat when we want and what we want.. just with a little caution.. eg.. you wouldn't want 3 week old 'fresh' fish, green meat or furry food.. but you wouldn't eat it anyway!! These 'guidelines' are exactly that.. guidelines.. not hard fast rules.. guidelines are there for silly people who do not use common sense and give themselves all sorts of bugs and such.. rules are there to be broken..
How many times have you given yourself food poisoning?!! If it is more than once.. those guidelines are rules.. if never.. stop being a wombat, you are not likely to make yourself ill now either!
Let's just say I have taken all sorts of medication (most is fine in pregnancy but how many pregnant women sign up for clinical trials not knowing how the baby will be affected?!) and never had a problem.. I do not drink alcohol though.. with any of them.. apart from the half bottle of vodka the day before I found out about this one.. it was ok though.. it was all in one glasss  ..
5 of my children have problems... 2 caused by hospital negligence, 1 due to prem birth and 2 congenital problems.. there is nothing I could or could not have done to prevent any of this.. so what does it matter if I ate a packet a prawns every day for 2 months?!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Awww cutie pics Gill:D
Had a panic in night. I started bleeding and had cramps:( I had no idea who I was supposed to phone?? Luckily it stopped after a short while so I tried to get a little bit of sleep on sofa.
If it happens again... who am I supposed to contact at this stage?? Labour ward??? *confused smiley* Midwife is answer machine and she said herself it may take even a day or 2 to get back to me. I will be leaving her a message to make an appointment with her as I'm so fed up with everything.
Oh and my Very order... 1 item was given to the wrong street!! Luckily the lady was kind enough to bring it round and said it was left in her door:A Thank goodness for honest people. I hate to think where my other 3 items are/have turned up:eek:BLOWINGBUBBLES:kisses2: SMARTIE120 -

Thanks for that pigpen, I think it doesnt help my OH is being realy OTT with me eating/ drinking, he has banned me from eggs all together  and I love eggs! Mind you, I can understand when it comes to eating out as I was very ill with food poisoning last year from eating a bad egg at a cafebut I have never made myself ill from eating:rotfl:I have never smoked in my life, and I rarely drank pre-pregnancy, and I wouldnt touch the stuff now as I think my baby is waaaay too young to be drinking :rotfl: lol no I just dont think it should be done, plus it does save money not drinking!
Gill; sorry I forgot to post yesterday, what gorgeous pics of your little man! Soooo cute! Everytime I see a pic on here it just make me want August to blimmin hurry up!!Bet your soo proud Gill
Smartie; Hope your ok *hugs* cant believe what a tough time your having, what a naughty bean!? I have to admit, I wouldnt know who to contact if I was worried, my midwifes phone num is a hospital 3 hours away from my local, and they ask u what you want, and transfer you to my local, and i think thats only an answerphone that gets picked up the end of the day? Not sure really. I think if I was really worried I would pop to A&E, duno if they could help but I think they would see my quicker than my MW0 -

Smartie if it takes that long for your midwife to get back to you then I'd say call labour ward, hope it doesn't happen again though1.11.09 - debt = £45k:eek:

Lots of mums-to-be are scared, regardless of whether or not it's #1. I think it's just what worries you that changes. For me I'm a bit worried about how DS (aged 12 ) will adapt.
. She is already getting upset about the how my hubby will be with her as he is her step dad and is worried that he will love his own child more. We have had a few crying sessions.
If you can think it........it will happen0 -
Kitkat... tell OH eggs are very good for pregnant ladies
I have little sips of DH's beer:eek::eek::eek::rotfl:DH and DS both watch as I do this to check I don't gulp it down!!!:o:rotfl:BLOWINGBUBBLES:kisses2: SMARTIE120 -
Smartie i'm pretty sure its the docs or A&E upto 20wks then after that its midwife or labour ward you have to contact.
I would deffinately try and see someone today if you have been bleeding and had stomach cramps after all it is better to be safe than sorry. Do you have a day assesment unit at the hospital your booked with there number should be on your notes its normally just a walk in service but you do need to call to let them know your coming and they will monitor baby and possibly arrange a scan if they think its needed. Like kitkat said though if your unsure and its the early hrs then just go to A&E. I do hope things start getting abit easier for you soon chick you really are in the wars at the moment :-) x:jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0 -
Thanks Smartie, I will tell him, I did give him a lecture about how I need protein, I think as long as I buy the eggs and cook them myself, theres no problem! mmmmm I want eggs now!!!
I have to admit, I have had a couple of sips of wine, we had a dinner party and everyone was drinking bar me, and for some reason I crave wine terribly atm, i had 2 sips and that was it. I have already told OH when the baby is born I am going to eat a plate of runny eggs and get hammered, while he looks after the baby lol0 -
I am worried about how my Daughter will be too Courgette she will be 13 if we hold onto this raspberry

DS is 14, with step dad too, and although he is soooo excited I know I wouldn't be too happy if I had mummy all to myself for 14 years and along comes a baby. I think you have to involve them as much as possible.
I shouted for DS to come down stairs to put his hand on my tummy to feel bean beat me up the other day.... the look of shock on his face!!:rotfl:He can't possibly do anything as yucky as that!!!BLOWINGBUBBLES:kisses2: SMARTIE120
