ok so many more than I thought it was LOL

it might just be because im getting closer to the end (thank god!) but Im starting to absolutely cack myself. im so nervous about having a baby LOL

I know "when he's here, it'll all come naturally" etc but thats always from people who have had kids already......i just want someone else to admit that they are scared witless as well, and it be ok to be scared witless, rather than feeling as if im being patronized by everyone telling me "you'll wonder what you were so scared about once he's here"

Thats not aimed at anyone on here. Its just anyone i talk to that I know in my RL who has just had a baby, becomes all evangelical, and Im sure I'll probably end up like that as well but I just dont want to be made to feel stupid for feeling like this.... which is how im feeling at the moment....

    sorry mini pregnant rant

Now THIS i can completely relate to! Im also scared witless. What if my OH doesnt bond with the baby? what if i get left out? what if there is a complication? what if im just a rubbish parent? WHAT THE HELL AM I DOING?!

I think its perfectly normal, its a massive thing to do and everyone will feel the same as us, mothers and fathers alike (well those that care anyway!)

They are probably all right but it doesn't help, I'd rather someone tell me hard facts that a quick "oh you'll be fine" kinda thing!:) and tbh I'd be more worried if you weren't cacking yourself:p I've been told that the fact that you're worrying shows how much you wanna be a good Mum, therefore you should be ok....well as ok as a sleep deprived new mum can be:p:rotfl:

PP only one swollen foot??? You're odd:p :rotfl:

I wake in the middle of the night sometimes (on the rare occassion I do sleep!) and think SHIT... I have no idea what I'm doing, if I've got the right things, what do I do about blah blah blah etc:o:rotfl:

With DS I completely blanked out everything baby, giving birth etc and didn't think about it at all... and it is true;):p DS popped out and I just got on with it!! I was only 17 with no family and no help or people telling me what to do. When I look back I think OHMIGOD how did I do it all:eek:

ohh not only did i get someone to agree with me, but a man as well! LOL

I know deep down that people are right, and Im sure we will be ok, and there will be times when I laugh, and times when I cry, and I expect good, bad and ugly days so Im realistic about what it's gonna be like....

But its like its taboo after having your baby to admit you felt like that, or still do... and all i wanna do is vent that fear to someone but i feel like i just get fobbed off by my RL "mates".....

Its the same as when you say you're tired and some brainiac always pipes up going "well its good preparation for when baby is here" or "you'll wanna get used to those sleepless nights"......

I really hope I dont end up doing that to anyone after I have Little L...... LOL

No I'm now quite happy and settled in my bubble of complete ignorance....

:A and I plan on staying here throughout my entire labour....

If I dont plan or expect things, then everything that happens will just seem like the natural progression.....

Lots of mums-to-be are scared, regardless of whether or not it's #1. I think it's just what worries you that changes. For me I'm a bit worried about how DS (aged 12 ) will adapt. When I was on the delivery ward on Friday night I definitely felt scared when I heard a woman a few rooms down yelling her head off. Right now I'm scared of this SPD and how it will progress. Speaking of which, thanks for all the helpful advice; it's nice to know I'm not alone with this. I ended up leaving school early today because I overdid it by teaching all morning. I'm trying to be positive and think that I now realise that even if I sit down as much as possible, 3 hours in a row is too much.

Got my MATB1 through the post today, my mw has put the wrong date on it, 25th Aug not 18th. What do I do? I've already handed in my notice to work saying my due date is 18th. As I'm a teacher I will be paid in the hols as normal up until either due date or delivery as long as I'm still there at the end of term. It's effectively an extra week ML at full pay!
