I'm sure it's been discussed before...so apologies...
Don't know if it's way early (I'm 15+2) but I'm hopefully going to buy some maternity jeans tomorrow. I already bought next size up jeans (size 14 which are baggy around the bum and legs) at about week 6 and have been wearing them since, but even these are getting uncomfy around the waist, although they are quite low cut ones.
Anyway, wondered if anyone had advice on whether to go for over the bump or under the bump. From looking at reviews on Next jeans it seems the over the bump ones are more comfy and popular. The under the bump ones seem to have comments about them falling down...any opinions?Baby Giz born 6/2/110 -

Giz I prefer under the bump...some stuff does fall down slightly but not enough to be indecent and personally I find it preferable to having anything tight around my ever increasing stomach:) Also I've found that in the evening my skin feels slightly tender, especially around the belly button so the thought of anythign remotely tight around there makes me feel sick:o HTH x1.11.09 - debt = £45k:eek:

Giz - my maternity jeans are over the bump and I find them really comfy.
I got them from Mothercare during the early days of my last pregnancy, and have been wearing them loads since about 14 weeks this time.
They are a nice style too, however the quality of the stitching on them in crap, and the elastic has started seperating from the material on the part that goes over the bump, which is annoying.
They were from Mothercare. Not sure what the quality of their other mat stuff is like, but was a bit peeved as they cost £35.
I'm going to have to restitch them myself when I get a moment.Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
I love my maternity jeans! I found last time that over-the-bump ones were really comfy right at the end, but not until the end (I had a very tiny bump though). All the ones I've bought (second hand on Ebay) this time have been under the bump - they do fall down a bit, but I just wear a soft fabric belt with them, all sorted.

Ds will be 8 and dd 6 when I turn 30 next year. Baby is due 5 days after my birthday next month.
Happy birthday Freebie - hope you have a lovely weekend.
I couldn't sleep last night and ended up coming back downstairs and watching tv - baby was moving non-stop and just couldn't get comfy in bed. Luckily kids let me have a bit of a lay in this morning and didn't get up until 8.30 +.
Want to nip into town today to get last few things for hospital bag but its chucking it down and don't fancy us all getting drenched. 35 weeks today :j:j0 -
I much prefer over the bump jeans too, I don't get alot of choice since I need petite trousers. TBH I prefer to wear trousers when pregnant they are more comfy still than jeans but end up wearing the jeans loads.
MV I find the quality is not great either. I bought quite a few bits from funmum.com in my 3rd pregnancy and am only just getting to use them now, of the 3 pairs of trousers I've had I've had to mend 2 pairs. One where the adjustable elastic keeps slipping off the button and another pair which are not adjustable the elastic just snapped off so I had to cut it open find it and sew it back on again, but they are my most comfy trousers. My tops from there are not much better, luckily its all seams etc so easily fixed but annoying I don't recommend them. I'm pretty sure the stitching was coming off on my blooming marvelous dress I had when I had the other 2 as well and my next jeans the soft bit on top started coming away from the jeans by the end of the pregnancy (I know that is from me constantly pulling them up).0
