eviction and quick labour vibes fr those that want them. 13th is a fantastic day to have a birthday :) I am a 13th girl too but not this month.

Have you all seen mama packs?? I was looking at them last night. pretty much like bounty packs but with more sustainable items in them. Apparently hospitals are not allowed to stock them because bounty wont allow it.

  • ooh were did u see the mama packs lilac?
i cant believe im up so early and i dont have to go to work  didnt go back to bed as i thought tesco opened at 8 but its not open til nine so will have to fart about the house for a while. really in the mood for some crusty rolls with ham. morning sickness definatley back with a vengence  alhtough it was a great excuse for OH to bring my cornflakes up to bed and i feel much better now :D

hope you have a nice day out rach. i agree you should get your bag done, it wasnt until i started mine yesterday that i realised how much i didnt have ready i feel a bit more relaxed now i have everything for it. just need to get a couple of bags to actually put the stuff into. oh boots have a minis range so i got mini shampoo, shower gel and deoderant etc. great cos it takes up less room. was just going to decant some stuff into bottles but by the time i paid for the travel bottles it wasnt worth it.

going to have a play with my bottles etc today. they are the dr browns ones and seem a bit complicated to work. also going to practice sterilising and stuff so when i come home i sort of know what im doing.

baby is still very very active, much more than he has ever been the whole pregnancy and it is sooo uncomfortable he must not realise he's too bloody big to do somersaults :rotfl: but seriously does anyone know when they are meant to get too big to do flips etc. i keep screaming everytime he does it and its starting to scare the OH!!

Birdie I have used Dr Brown bottles with both my kids. there is a knack to it. Make sure you have a thin brush for cleaning valve and brush. One thing I would recomend is if you are using milk powder get something you can sterilise to stir the powder/water until it disolves. Dr Brown bottles don't have a little disk cap so if you put the lid on a shake you will get covered with hot formula and if the water is the recomended 70 degrees it will hurt .
A friend on FB sent me a link to a petition to get hospitals to stock both mama and bounty packs. they have a website thought http://www.mamapacks.eu/ Is baby flipping head to toe or just front to back? Ellie my oldest was still doing that up to birth. Both my little terrors were back to back.

morning everyone, I'm gonna be hassling you guys all day today since it is gonna drag. Scan not till 5:40pm, I picked the time so I shouldn't complain but it does mean its all I'll be thinking about today. OH told work he is finishing at 3pm today, its still a 10 hour day for him and he wasn't home till 8pm last night.

smartie good luck for your son today, hope his operation goes well x

Krystal good luck for the scan x

Labour vibes for those wanting to evict today x
  • I'm due next wednesday and mine still does big movements, stretching legs etc when I get in the bath it's like something out of an alien movie.

Does anyone nearing there due date get fed up with people saying enjoy the last few days, store sleep etc. They obviously have forgot how uncomfortable, frustrating it is not knowing when, it's driving me up the wall. I keep getting period pain cramps ( for nearly two weeks now ) I've had the shakes, diawoowoo, back pain etc etc and keep thinking this is it but after a few random sharp pains it goes away !!! Every time I go out I imagine my waters breaking - they broke at work eleven day before I was due last time. I really hope it happens this weekend !!! I have a hospital apt on Tuesday, not sure if they will do a sweep but I'm a bit nervous, would rather go naturally
Busy mum of 3, so if my posts don't make sense or ask a silly question be patient:rotfl:
  • i got the a few little brushes for cleaning the valve with them, but u just reminded me i dont have a bottle brush for cleaning the bottles argh just when you think you have eevrything you need!!

cheers for the tip about mixing the formaula beforehand, dont think i would have been too impressed if it had of went everywhere on me at 3am :rotfl:

i honestly dont know which way the baby is moving it is just that my whole insides flip right round (whilst getting pushed into weird shapes ) so think he may have done a few 360 turns as everytime he has still been head down, although has changed which side he lays on. it is like a scene from alien or something when my belly moves, although it is lovely and amazing i suppose :)

ahh just saw your due in feb thats the BEST month (im a feb baby :D) you may get a wee valantines surprise!!

Lola - I had forgotten about that. that in the oh how long have you got to go, you say oh 2 weeks and they then make a comment on your size, either too big or too small. No one ever says oh you look the perfect size for 8 months its always oh that looks like one big baby or aww you have a little tiddler in there. GRRRR That and touching your bump, just f off GRRRR. Both mine used to kick out ar any feeling of heat on the belly be it water, a hand or me cosied into my OH back so any touch at 37-38 weeks meant I got a foot to the ribs or belly

Birdie - you get a foam type Dr Browns brush for the bottles, its better than the wire type ones for the actual bottles in my experience. I'm due the 15th but TBH I think i would rather go a bit earlier. I hate the final bit.

I am trying to find out about pre eclampsia. If you have had it before are you likely to get it in other pregnancies. And is there anything i can do to minimise the chances. Acccording to crap MW I will not see my consultant until after 20 weeks which give me 7 weeks to wonder about things. My 20 week scan is on my oldests 4th birthday so OH has taken the day off work and we will be doing the pressies then dropping her at nursery then onward to hospital.

Krystal should be in waiting room for her scan about now, she said it was 8:30 didn't she?

  • lola same here, although i get half the people saying how il never last another 6 weeks ( which just makes me feel mahoosive) then the other half are saying how neat i am etc. people just talk out their !!!!!! sometimes . lilac dont get me started on people touching the bump. i just give them "the look" which OH finds hilarious! but i dont walk up to randomers and touch any part of their body so what the hell do strangers think they r doing when they touch my bump?! sorry rant over! going to get ready for tescos now. and im hungry AGAIN!! be back later :)

edit to add. im not sure about preventing preeclampsia, but my mum had it with me then went on to have 3 more babies and didnt get it again.
  • Morning ladies

Hope things go OK with your DS Smartie and he is out of hospital soon.

Have a good day in Canterbury, looks like a pants day weather wise anyway so better than going to Kew.

I got my bounty pack in hospital this week, which the only good thing was a trial pack of pampers wipes which I will be putting in my hospital bag (with cotton wool) but haven't seen the mama packs.

Going to have a relaxing day today, need to do some washing decided whether to put it out as predicting rain by lunch. May just put some in the dryer . . .
