I've only got to page 2 and I'm in tears....not sure I will be coming back here knowing the strength of feeling against those on benefits.

I have neither hinted I have a point of view or that have a point of view.

There is no point to clarify.

But if you want to know my opinion on the matter I will save if for a thread worth discussing it on.

Don't get the pages wet... :o

I don't think I'll bother thanks.......;) I'm really not that interested now..

I do not think most of the posters are against all people on benefits, just the ones who appear to be taking milking the system to an extreme, and making it a positive lifestyle choice with no wish or intention to ever do another days work in their life.
Benefits are supposed to be a safety net for when things do not work out, not a career.

I don't think anyone is opposed to looking after people that need assistance or care through the benefits system anymore than they are opposed to looking after the infirm or the elderly, everyone can think of examples of people in need through no fault of their own from their personal life.

It's just the people that brazenly abuse the system and whose story gets into the papers that get all the attention and draw all the anger.

so would you like to cap the number of children people can have (just immigrants or just those on benefits?)
....i don't think cutting benefits will cut birth rates. there are plenty of countries without welfare where the birth rate is still higher than here.

i agree it is galling to see a family like this taking so much and continuing to have kids.

On the contrary, as I expressly stated in a previous post, I don't think it is morally right to 'cap' the number of children anyone can have - forced sterilisation for socially undesirables brings back unpleasant echoes of the Nazis.

What I do think though, as I previously stated, as that we have stop incentivising lazy people to have more children as a meal ticket.

If the family in the OP wish to have 14 children, fine - that's up to them. BUT they need to work out a way to afford them, through their own labours, before getting up the duff - and if they figure out they can't afford them - oh well, tough.

There are many young, hard-working couples who'd love to have just one child now, but feel they can't afford to. That's really sad. Especially as the reason they can't is because of having to pay taxes so that couples like this can have number 7, number 8..., number 9...and 10 etc.

That makes me both really angry and really, reallly depressed. :(

Oh for god's sake what are you thinking???????????

You should be very ashamed of your self. The holocaust was not ok and as far as I know !!!!!! all to do with cutting benefits.

    Shame on you

Agreed, you appear to have totally lost the plot, 1984.

    I have reported your post.

    Shame on you.

    Get a grip.
