not been around for a while, hmmmm not very motivated am I?!
Im thinking about changing the name of this diary to 'my life is a total mess.com' I get good news one day, and then something happens and its taken away!
I am so annoyed today and upset. I rang up Scottish Power and told them to change my direct debit date and I gave them plenty of notice. I checked online banking today and they have taken their money:eek: leaving me £117 overdrawn on my basic step account with which I have no overdraft:eek: so now got no money! and we dont get paid until the 25th! I did have some money put aside this month for food etc so have had to use that to stop any charges. but what am I too do????
I should in theory, be getting some money on monday but its all ifs and buts. so today I have set up a facebook page to get all DD's clothes sold. fed up with ebay, it does my head in!!!!!
Also OH's so called 'business partner' did a runner last week and emptied out the company business account:eek: so OH has now had to start all over again, he should (in theory) get paid in full on monday which will really help us out, but again, all ifs and buts until everything is finalised with the tax office (fingers crossed for tommorow!!!!!!!!)
On the dmp front, well, only paid creditors token payments last month of £5 and tough luck, I dont care. I was hoping this month to get back to normal, not sure if that will happen or not:( I will try of course.
My freelance work has dried up, I am trying desperately to get something set up of my own business wise. but its difficult when you are feeling so low and depressed. OH came soooo close and I mean close to a nervous breakdown last week.
But I think, in some strange way, this has kinda brought us closer together. We have decided to sell our car and use the money to buy something smaller and more economical, (I have been trying to get him to do this for ages!!!!!) it means that will have some money left over to put to one side. I am going to use some of it however, to pay some debts off too. that will put a smile on my face.
One bit of good news I guess, we have gone from 11 creditors down to 9:j I have now got rid of Next and Ace, the 2 smallest and they were the ones making the most noise and threatening me with court:rotfl:not that I care really!
Sick of this rain, it gets everyone down and depressed.
I hope you are all well, got a blinding headache, need to and get some pills and calm down after the shock of seeing my bank account this morning!!!!!
Take care allLBM: April 2009 - honest debt figure: Secured: £0.00!! (paid back april 2017) unsecured: £53117.48 (roughly) back with CCCS starting again:(0 -

Hi Jasper,
Sorry to see things are so tough. You are right about the rain, makes everything so much worse. And it's so cold as well, nasty nasty weather.
Soon, Spring will arrive properly and it will cheer us all up.
Meanwhile, hang on in there. At least your OH seems to have seen the light to some extent, so that's positive. Things will get better.0 -

I am so pleased you got your money back, I found you yesterday and sat and read your dairy, It made me cry smile and gave me the kick to get our debts under control, so for that I will be always gratful.
I have been hiding my head in the sand about money apying off some of our debts and could not even look to see how much we had in our account, living with the view , if there was not enough money in the account they we would soon here about it.
So yesterday after spending the best part of the day with you, I decided that today was the day, and I looked at our account after about year or so of not knowing to find that we had more in there than I imagined not masses but enough not to worry about how we would eat this week, so I got all our paperwork out and had a big sort out, and I have figured the order of who we are going to pay first, and now of being really scared of it all I am quite looking forward to sorting all of it out.
It is going to be a hard slog but we will do it.
Thank you again .:)2nd purse £50.00
3rd purse £100.00

Hi and welcome:) Im so glad that my sometimes wacky diary gave you the push you needed to get your debts sorted. I must admit my life has been very up and down during my journey. I am hopeless at meal planning, give in too takeaways too easily:eek: have luck with ebay and then I dont. it goes on and on.
I have had many ups and downs whilst self managing our own dmp, for example last month I had to do token payments due to our car being vandalised:mad: and this month I will probably have to do the samethe creditors wont be happy, but I dont care anymore, they cant have what we aint got!!!
I will be writing letters though in due course to explain things. I did take on D & G solicitors successfully with regards to OH's credit card. (HSBC passed the account on) after many months of their so called in house collections constantly saying we didnt get your letters.......D & G found it, and accepted the amount we had been paying all along!!!!!! idiots. but I stuck to my guns and got there in the end.
Its not as scary as you may think, you can and will deal with it. it will be a while before we are debt free but I have now got a plan in place, listed which debts I would like to get rid of first and I am hoping my plan works!!!
Good luck and hope to see more of you on the debt free boards.
take care JC xxxxLBM: April 2009 - honest debt figure: Secured: £0.00!! (paid back april 2017) unsecured: £53117.48 (roughly) back with CCCS starting again:(0 -
Cant believe how long its been since ive been on here! goodness me!
Isnt this weather fab!:j:j makes everyone feel sooooo much better:)
Anyway back to business.. things are still getting worse financially as me and OH continue to struggle. I am still looking for work, although (fingers crossed!) I have got a couple of things in the pipeline. So heres hoping for some good news by the end of today!
Have decided that after nearly 6 months of self managing, we are going back to the CCCS. I am the one who deals with everything and I feel that I cannot cope anymore. Yes, ive done well with sorting out solicitors, getting back on track, talking to creditors and putting them in their place! lol. but......its taken its toll on me now, and I feel ill. I feel we need more of a back up, hence why we are restarting with the CCCS. I feel its the right thing to do.
Last 2 months we have only been making token payments to creditors for various reasons.......should all be back to normal for June as that is when our plan starts. June 10th to be exact:j
I have been lurking and trying to keep up with everyones diaries. well done to the peeps who are doing so well with their debt busting, especially Skint and Pinot. dont know how you do it!!!! but well done!
Almost forgot!!! still getting round to selling car, should be on ebay etc by Sunday!!!!
hope everyone is well xxxxLBM: April 2009 - honest debt figure: Secured: £0.00!! (paid back april 2017) unsecured: £53117.48 (roughly) back with CCCS starting again:(0 -
wow not been around for ages! back now though have missed being on here!
Well dmp wont officially start until September now:eek::eek: so creditors have been getting token payments for months:( first of all, we were the victims of fraud and had our bank account emptied:mad::mad: and the car broke down:( we have had sooooo much bad luck its unreal.
As we have also had a reduction in wages coming in, we have had to redo our CCCS debt remedy, which means that we started off saying we would pay £660 now gone down to £254:eek: creditors wont like that!!!!!!!! CCCS said until we get our council tax arrears and secured loan arrears sorted out, our current debt free date is 18 years:eek::eek::eek::eek: if we can get it sorted it will be 9 years which is a bit better.
so after a year, we have not progressed at all really, feel like we are going backwards. I feel that I have wasted a whole year of my life. And this year will be a write off I guess as things are not getting started like I say until September!
Oh well, never mind. I have been keeping up with some of the diaries as much as I can. hope you are all well. still in ill health alot of the time, but cant change it, so gotta get on with it!
