DO any of y'all actually have 'lace-up shoes'??? The only ones I have are my trainers and i shamefully slip them on without unoding, but i only wear trainers for sport:)
On schedul;e with the 'cards' dd's room plus the bathroom today, if I did one room per day they would only get a look in once a fortnight  and I can tell already that things will become easier in the long run.
BTW Michelle super well done with the savings!Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:
I have done reading too!

Well done everyone who's trying to fly.
I've invested in a lovely pair of 'vegetarian' shoes but still wear my old slippies around the house - perhaps I should wear them for flying - what do you ladies think? Are slippers ok to do housework in? It's not like I go out anywhere.
I've realised I can do one day of flying and one of sleeping/resting alternatelyToday I vacuumed and cleaned carpets and then steam cleaned all downstairs floors. (Our Apricot (meow) has an allergy to house dust mite and that seems to help). WM going all morning with heavy cat blankets - all dry and back being used thanks to the beautiful weather. Woke at 6.15 raring to go after 3 hours sleep  , then went back to bed at midday cos I couldn't keep up. Apple jelly dripping as I type ready for making MORE jam tomorrow. Blackberries still in the fridge, but will make bramble jelly with those too. (Just how much jam can two people eat)? Tomorrow, if I can, I'll tackle upstairs carpets as well as the jam-making, but I really MUST learn to pace myself - any tips anyone - there's always something I WANT to do (urgently)
HUGS to all those who want one,
Jo (Justin's OH)0 -
Hi Jo - I get spells where I'm too tired to move at all. During these I have bouts where it's like someone switches me off and I fall so fast asleep that I can't be woken for love nor money. Other times pushing the vaccum around feels like there's 10 body builders sitting on it.
This is where I think Flylady's 15 minute sessions come into their own.
Last time I couldn't get to do any of my challenge until the evening - so at some point I'd do a couple of 15 minute sessions (which was more than I'd have done without the challenge). Even that made a huge difference!
Have you read the flylady book? If you haven't I'd recommend getting it. Chances are her explanation of why she does it the way she does will help you.
Hope that helps a little,

Morning Flybabies and Flyboy!
Haven't really been flying properly lately. Have given up work to become SAHM plus DS is in the process of starting pre-school so my routine is changing completely. I used to do the bulk of my housework on Thursdays when DS was at nursery and just keep on top of it with a 15min tidy up a day and a swish and wipe. However, with everything changing I've lost it a bit and need to establish a new routine. Therefore cannot wait for new Flylady challege Moggins!
So far today have:
Put wash (a few days in WM  ) in TD
Put on next wash
Emptied and loaded DW
S&W bathroom
Stripped DS bed
Made beds and 15min tidy
To do:
Everything! Including
Ironing pile from hell
Hoover every room
Mop kitchen, utility, dining room, bathroom and ensuite floors
Make lasagne for tea
Use up some more plums!
15 min on hotspot (office)
realistically most of this will get done tomorrow when DS starts pre-school proper and I don't have to be with him.
Jo - remember babysteps plus any housework however good/bad/small is a blessing to your home.
Kaz - will be following your lead of 15x3 flying/DS plus 15 on OS/MSE!!

Sounds like you're going some, Punky.... Good on ya
Well, I know I'm just starting on this, but even with my babysteps, the ground floor of our house has been tidy(ish) for nearly two weeks!!!! Unprecedented, believe me. It's not spotless, floors need doing, but we are essentially clutter-free
I am sooooo glad that the next challenge starts next week. These last two mornings have been . Mrs Fly has had to be out of the house by 04:30 so I have been getting both boys up and ready. DS1 is in uniform for the first time, so am charging round ironing and polishing. They leave at different times so two (different, of course) breakfasts. I have to get myself ready at the same time. It's MADNESS!!
Hope everyone else is still flying (or at least trying to). Roll on Tuesday!

I am new to this site and so pleased to me fellow Flybabies - I thought I was the only one and it was my secret shame! I have a 16 week old baby and the 5 minute room rescues have been my saviour. It is funny with OH comes home from work and thinks I am amazing because the house is clean, washing done and dinner nearly ready. I am chuckling because I know i did it in 5, 10 or 15 minute blasts throughout the day.
On Edit - what is the MSE flylady challenge please?0 -
The Flylady challenge is taking on a room a day per week and really going for it. We started one earlier in the year which went well and now we are having a kids back at school, house looks like a tornado has hit it one.
Which I am sorry!!!!! Moggins has been a complete wally and misread the calendar! Flylady challenge starts on Monday! Which is the 11th and not the 12th.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Hi Kaz, I'll see if I can find that book in the library. Does it mention anything about disabled flyers do you know?
Up until recently I've let Justin do everything, including cooking. But now I'm feeling more able to face my disability, I've started to try to help around the home. I've always really LOVED housework, (DETEST cooking though), but learning to do everything differently/slowly/painfully is horrid! I think I have to take at least 30 minutes for every 15 minute 'flying' lesson, but I'm getting there
I want to do a HALF challenge. Half a room per day might be my limit, and anything I do is a bonus anyhow. Justin now feels able to do the OU course he's wanted to do, and I'm less depressed. It's WORKINGthanks to all the lovely people here that encourage me.

Keep going Jo, you'll get all the encouragement you need here. I'm sorry, I don't know what your disability is so I don't have any ideas to suggest but after the last two weeks without the use of my left hand I was a lot more sympathetic to disabled people.
I was also amazed how much work I could get done by adapting slightly.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things
